Here's a map from EMSC: EMSC map. The quake was deep, 33 km. 109 km from Gizo (population 6,154).

acording to this map there have been two over mag 7s in the area and there has been a tsumani detected . hope this helps a bit .

Both USGS and EMSC now says that the 1st quake was a 6.5 and the 2nd quake was a 7.2, less than an hour later.

Tsunami generated after today's earthquake off Solomon Islands. one to keep an eye on,

Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says small tsunami generated following 6.9-magnitude earthquake off the Solomon Islands.
