Um our taxes pay for a lot of things that individuals could not afford if they had to pay. Like police, public schools etc. You think you don't pay for people who can't ( or won't) in the present system? Of course you do! You think private insurers don't pass the cost of ALL their losses to the consumer? PLEASE!
At least a public option ( not for profit ) insurance would reduce the cost! It HAS to by deducting profit! That's THE ONLY FREAKIN REASON REPUBS OPPOSITE IT!

I don't know. Bush won in 2004 with fewer votes, but declared he had a mandate to push his agenda on the America people.

That's because even Bush didn't expect to win...and yet he did win in a decisive fashion. John Kerry conceded defeat and was shame-faced for failing the groundswell of liberal outrage.

Bush rightly observed, "I now have political capital, and I'm going to spend it." Which he did. At this late date, you can go back and bash Bush, but at least he did everything he said he was going to do, regardless of seething liberal hatred.

Not that it mattered much being between two bonesmen but the '04 election was a fraud.

I thought it rather strange he would deny Joe another minute but after thinking about it....have you ever listened to Lieberman speak?

Today I've listened to several Senators on both sides of the aisle addressing Franken's snafu, and the general consensus is that Franken was "just following orders," which is why he shrugged and squirmed as he uttered, "I object."

Who is laying down the "orders"? Well, his immediate bosses, Harry Reid and Barack Hussein Obama, who do not want a frank and transparent discussion of the healthcare "reform" bill. They want this thing rushed through so that they can call it "last year's business" before the 2010 Senatorial election campaign begins in a couple of weeks.

Senators on both sides of the aisle agree that the Senate Parliamentarian — the guy who actually enforces Senate procedure — should have warned Al Franken about being respectful and generous to his elders and his betters.

Yeah, right.

I'll just say Franken is a clASS act. He should have a little more respect even though Liebermann could put a room full of insomniacs to sleep. both sides right or wrong deserve to be heard.

Good for Al.

he's bringing in a little of that change that was promise.

Like not having windbags go on and on for too long in order to stall a vote, stop a vote before a deadline or have the dimwitted personal views put into historical record.

McCain is a windbag too. No wonder he got uptight. Leibermen isn't even functioning as a democrat, He functions as a republican but couldn't get voted in as one.

he's a fraud.

Go Al!

The only person promising "change" was Barack Hussein Obama, and I think we're all in agreement that Obama is just another inexperienced noob who's shafting America with the same old Democrat tax-and-spend politics.

I mean, Democrats pushing through bloated government-assistance programs and taxing the hell out of America is a CLICHÉ, it's been going on so long.

This is Democrat business as usual, no change whatsoever, same old con-game that the Dems have been pulling since before FDR.

People who think ripping off the American taxpayer is "new and refreshing" should have their heads examined, because they're mentally deficient.

Hey Doc, you seem to like to try and intimadate people by calling them names and stating facts that you have nothing to back it up with. A source would be nice once in a while and I really don't appreciate you claiming you know more about our country than other Canadians. Going to school we had to learn more about Americas States and History then we did of our own Country. How much did you learn about other countries in school. Apparently you didn't learn anything about having a cival debate. Also if you look at the vid of McCain and his faux outrage you would have seen the next speaker explained that the extra time had been denied another Senator a couple of hours before. Canada rocks!!

So was the '96 election, so was the 2008 election — difference with the 2008 election is that Barack Hussein Obama paid his conspirators (ACORN) billions of dollars out of the American taxpayer's pocket, and he's still defending ACORN even though that "political action organization" has been proven to be a crime syndicate.

Oh, and thanks, Waldo, for adding me as your "respected foe" THREE TIMES in a row.

Most people judge their success by Applause, but I judge my success by how many liberals add me as a "respected foe"... And, baby, I'm successful on this thread, because the liberal kooks are really squirming out there, they hate me so badly.

What "facts" have I not backed up? Prove it.

I don't think i have to because it seems to me the mod kicked your butt on quite a few of your posts. Also in my opinion I don't think the States would have been better off no matter who you elected. They do what they want no matter what the people want. And right now it seems they want to spend(give away to the rich) as much money as they can.

I absolutely loved it, Lieberman needs to leave the Democratic party and join the team he already plays for. The guy is a sleaze ball who is only loyal to Israel and doesn't care for the United States. Franken put him in his place, Lieberman deserves absolutely zero respect.

Lieberman isn't a member of the Democrat Party. He's an Independent.

So much for your brief love.

Well, aside from the fact that I've seen beyond the End Times and I'm not going to divulge any secrets to any of you, I guess that's about it. -Doc Velocity Sorry I didn't know you could see the future. Anyway I'm off topic and done speaking with you. Merry Christmas!!

I must have missed that, all I saw was a Canadian denying that his economy was faltering, that his unemployment was on the rise, and that his healthcare system had people backlisted for months, all of which was stated as fact from Canadian sources.

Denying that it's true does not constitute "kicking butt"...

They just want to rush it thru huh?

Just like they wanted to rush the War bill thru when john mccain acted just as childish?

I wonder if you were this upset when John McCain did this over a war that has cost trillions of dollars and millions of lives around the globe? I doubt you were.

I read all your post...you just hate Franken more than you do McCain...and allow McCain a pass but Franken must be crucified.

You are why America is in the mess we are in .... you and all your cousins.

Just because you place emphasis on something does not make it true...you haven't backed up any of your claims about Canada regarding their healthcare or economy. And you said you have seen signs and been on a tour of Canada...Benn to Detroit lately. 50% unemployment..and no free healthcare.

Id rather be in Canada with their "80%" unemployment and life saving free healthcare.

In my opinion it was high time that at least one Democrat told Lieby to shut-the-***-up. Bravo Al! His slavish subservience to the horror known as the Medical Insurance community should not go unpunished in some form or other. Too bad he didn't just lay a Berlusconi on his creepy ass. It would have been just what the p***k deserved. Send Lieby back to Israel where he belongs!

No, ignorant liberals who fail to learn the lessons of history are the reason America is in a mess. Now the libs want to tout socialism as a new and refreshing change.

Hate to be the one to break it to you, but socialism FAILS every time and drags down civilization with it. But you guys haven't learned that lesson, have you?

No. You haven't.

And, if you had read all my posts (which you didn't), you would know that I think John McCain is a left-leaning moderate who works for the Democrats and is as much a socialist burden on America as John Kerry or Hillary Clinton or Harry Reid or Barack Hussein Obama. All birds of a feather.

I've never made a secret of my disdain for McCain.

As for "pushing through the War bill," if you were on top of current events, you'd know that it was a Democrat-controlled Congress that succeeded in that. And it's your liberal Democrat president who is sending 30,000 more American troops to Afghanistan.

I bet that just burns you up, doesn't it?

ok - they have a ` 10 minuite rule ` - thats fine , maybe the real problem is that thiy have been consistently ignoring it

it is not ` disrespect to your elders ` to actually have the gal to expect them to abide by thier own senate rules

When the Senate makes the rules, and the Senate has traditional "gentlemen's agreements" on certain points of procedure, then it's up to the gentlemen to adhere to those agreements.

But I guess that's where they screwed up with Franken. He's not a gentleman but a disrespectful idiot.
