What! 49 pages, when i went out earlier to see a band there was only 9 pages!
So what's the verdict? Which page is phage's response? Help a brother out someone please?
The general consensus (as well as phage's) is rocket
a very very very excellent malfunction visually indeed!
So you are one to follow general consensus? I thought ATS was home to people that thought independently.
All types of rockets have been tested for years and years and years, but for some reason this is the first time anything even CLOSE to this has happened.
Alas, if the all knowing "Phage" deems it a rocket, than a rocket it is.
You can't believe everything you hear... not even on a conspiracy forum.

Ah.
The barium is green but when ionized it shows blue.
Just how would a missile be able to create such a perfect spiral? McDowell says the shape suggests the failure occurred well above the atmosphere.
If it had occurred at lower altitudes, atmospheric drag would have caused the missile to fall quickly to Earth, creating a downward-pointing corkscrew pattern whose contrails would have been blown "this way and that" by wind, he told New Scientist. The Bulava missile has three stages that fire in succession as it climbs up in altitude.
"Probably what happened is that stages 1 and 2 did just fine and were discarded in turn, and then stage 3 started burning and almost immediately went wrong," McDowell says. He says the third stage's nozzle, which directs the rocket's exhaust plume, may have fallen off or been punctured, causing the exhaust to come out sideways instead of out the back. "The sideways thrust sends the rocket into a spin, spewing flame as it goes," he says. "If thrust was terminated right away, then you wouldn't see the spiral," he continues. "The unusual thing this time is that the missile was allowed to carry on firing for a bit after it went wrong."

And maybe it's used to steer away attention from Copenhagen & Climategate. It keeps us busy with pretty lights in the sky.

Alright ... so I've narrowed it down to these options:
1. Godfart!
2. Al Gore's ego deflating.
3. Rocket launch.
4. A NWO HAARP false flag reverse disinfo operation in conjunction with the sugar mining alien insect overlords whom I always welcome and are willing to assist in rounding up ATS members to toil in their sugar caves, conditional as per usual to phage's approval.
Not in order

I've read before that Norway holds the underground bases for the Illuminati to hide when 2012 comes. Not sure if we should trust anything their officials say.
