I'm not buying this. I'm sure the man's a c*nt, but more often than not he has been misquoted. For example the lovely "destroy Israel" quote from a while back turned out to be "destroy Zionist something"..or something like that which is totally different (but perhaps not that politically correct either). And since FOX is reporting this it's a lie for sure. "reportedly" stands for "not really"

Being largely agnostic for the conscious years I've spent as a human being on this earth, I've come to a realization about Abrahamic religion. It might be an outside perspective, but here's my perspective none the less.

Long before it ever has a chance to save earth, Abrahamic ideology will destroy it. The tenants of Abrahamic doctrine sink their talons in to unwitting humanity through appealing to the base emotions that everyone of us possess. The fear of death. The use of violence for the sake of friendship and community; a mish-mashed edict that it's followers use as a war banner. The prospect of vanity; in the case of subservient religions like those that were spawned in the Middle East, it's followers achieve vanity through a moral high-ground among the non-believers and pagans amongst them (I'm going to heaven, you're going to hell.)

There are a few things free thinking individuals can do to brace our descendants from the coming tide.

Raise free-thinking children. Teach them to value the wonders of science and prostrate themselves in front of the universe, not a preacher, rabbi, or imam. Show them the art; the sculptures, the paintings, the literature that was created by their free thinking ancestors. Then show them the art that was destroyed in the name of Abrahamic religion. Teach them about the Crusades. Teach them about the Holocaust. Play them the footage of 9/11. Show them how Abrahamic ideology is dangerous in the hands of fanatics. Maybe they will start to wonder why tens of millions of corpses do not lay at the feet of Buddhists or Celts.

Fight political correctness and the constriction of your freedom of speech. Remember that as far as we know, this is the only life we have to live. Do not waste it as a slave to a book.

Before you file in to the ranks of the cult of atheism, ask yourself one question. Does man know everything about the universe? The answer should guide you on your choice. Egoism has no place in the halls of the free thinking.

That's it. Every day, I see these stories roll through this forum. I for one will not dwell on them for another moment. Here's to hoping that someday soon the monkeys burn down the zoo. I'll still hold out hope that they don't burn down everything.

Pure brilliance!

Thank you for posting this.

You're wrong. Iran said that they were going to "wipe Israel off the map" or words to that effect. Then Iran said that they didn't really mean that, because it was impossible to wipe a country off the map, or other weasel-words to that effect.

As for not trusting Fox News, if you'd clicked this link on the OP, you would have found this:

www.alarabiya.net...

Do you trust al Arabiya more?

How about this one straight from Iran?

www.iranian.com...

Here, you pick your favorite news source.

Very good post! I knew it was just a matter of time for someone (who was too lazy to search for other sources themself) to spout off about Fox News being an unreliable source. Too bad he won't take anything away from the schooling you gave him. Good job!

So he is a nutjob for saying this, yet this is supposed to be the same guy the Jews and Christians are waiting for. On this site there is lots of talk from Christians about Jesus' return, or whoever it is going to be.

Why is it crazy when he says it, but a Christian says it, we are fine with it? Is it because he is Muslim?

Well Islam bulit their huge, gold domed mosque on what use to be King Solomon's temple in Jerusalem. One of the last pieces left of the temple is the Wailing Wall.

The Jews believe that Jesus can only return after their temple is rebulit.

The muslims were the last to conquer Jeusalem before the Jews got Israel handed back to them. The thing is they can't destroy the the most sacret muslim mosque.

So now the U.S., I mean Israel, is blocking the return of of the Iranian muslim God how fitting. JESUS LOL!

Yes! Even the gods can be manipulated and controlled by us!

Yes evidently he thinks USA is more Powerful than the will of Allah. Oddly enough if USA is stopping this savior then that would have to be the will of Allah would it not? Who is Ahmadinejad to defy the will of Allah? ?

Exactly.

Thanks. It's unbelievably disheartening to know that people like Ahmadinejad are given a global platform to speak. It really cues one in to the insanity that swirls around the current political and religious climate. They're one and the same, and equally revolting.

Uhh...refer to the guy right above you who is trying to say that the Muslims are preventing Jesus from coming.

There are lots of people on here that claim all sorts of crap like that. My favourite is that the Jews are trying to speed up this second coming by trying to incite a war. In this thread we have a guy saying the Muslims are trying to prevent it.

Also reread what was posted. There were comments related to it being labeled as the final imam, and not Jesus or the Messiah.

I'm not going to go into the 'Israel wiped from the map' fallacy, because it's been covered here many times before, but I think it's worth noting that:

a. The quote/phrase, whatever you believe the correct translation, was what 'should/must' happen, never what Iran 'was going to do'.
b. You yourself have indicated that you are paraphrasing by stating that it was 'words to that effect'. I wonder whether you actually speak the language, or are just paraphrasing a translation.

When I read about this, I can't help but draw comparisons to the groups of Apocalyptic Christians with whom Bush used to consult. These groups felt that it was imperative to support Israel because Christ wouldn't return until the Temple of David was rebuilt. Sounds eerily familiar.

There seems to be a lot of confusion here regarding the beliefs of the various religions.

I believe that I am safe in saying that only a handful of Jews are expecting Jesus to return, rebuilt temple or not.

Christians believe that Jesus will return, but the scriptures state that no one knows when. Jesus did suggest that there were those alive at the time of His crucifixion who would be alive at his return. The meaning of this is sometimes debated, but mostly ignored. I can't remember a time when some Christians didn't believe that Christ's return was imminent. Most Christian believe that when Christ is ready to return, He will not be stopped by any force.

As for the Islamic messiah, I have to claim ignorance. Louis Farrakhan is Muslim and claims that Obama is the messiah. Others claim that Mahdi is the messiah.

I've researched this matter b/c i was always curious about about this...for all those who dont know anything about the 'Savior' then he is basically a descendent of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) who was raised to the heavens during the trannical Umayad Regime which was trying to wipe out the Prophet's (PBUH) progeny...he is still alive and is protected by God until in a period of hidden occultation where he will return to the world in order to restore order and teach mankind of the ancient knowledge that was lost...and for all those who say its impossible to live this long, well since this is ATS then we are all aware of how the ancients knew of knowledge which would allow us to live for hundreds of years...also Islam regards Jesus as a prophet who will arrive after the arrival of the Savior Mahdi (a.s.) and will help him restore order on earth....Ahmedinajad is not trying to say "i cant wait for him to come so i can blow jews up' but that the Savior will restore order nonetheless....if the Iranians are wrong and US is right then the Savior will help the US...all in all those who are wrong will be dealt with either through them changing their wrongful ways or through a final battle with Good vs Evil....pretty interesting

I read the post above mine differnetly than you seen it, I took it more of a Catch 22 type of satement like damed if they do and damed if they dont. But I see how you read it and agree it could be read that way.

Also I was talking more in line with a more or less world stage, not what people spout off about in this forum, and thats what I though you were refering too. I take most of the comments I read with a grain of salt, and think that when a world stage leader makes a claim like that, yes it is crazy and a bunch of crap on a totaly different level than something of the same contex beig said by a member here on this forum.

Hey maybe the U.S. IS blocking the return of Mahdi....

If so, good job us!

There is good indication that we are indeed blocking any movement around anyone claiming to be the Mahdi.

The CIA did this during the civil rights era, as they sought to extinguish any "black messiah". Not that they actually believed one would rise, just that conditions were right for movements around leaders to emerge.

In this situation, there is already a narrative surrounding it. I'm sure there are fringe groups who are just waiting for someone to follow.
