"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Matthew 24:36

NO one…not even JESUS!

Not you, not me, not even the smartest founder or posters on ATS…

BUT........................

BUT?

The Mayans say 2012?

How could they know? JC said NO ONE would know, was JC wrong? Pls enlighten OT, ok?

Are they right? the Mayans, that is?

CAVEAT! This thread is not for “trolls”…move along, move along…ok?

This discussion is for those researchers that have data/backup/info…alright?

OT simply asks, “who is right?” and/or "are you ready for the inevitable??"

Personally, I think that the bible is misinterpreted. Nobody knows the exact time or hour because it's a window of time. That window of time is marked by the Mayans. Also, HOPI prophecy seems to coincide with this time frame stating that we are in transition to the next world.

due respect (due to the rules before I posted is new to me, sound serious in this one), I don't trust the bible and beside, it doesn't matter who right or wrong.

The only reason the bible said that is to avoid the christians asking "when God coming?! where God?!" so Jesus and even Peter said to be patient when they did lied that jesus will be back in their's own lifetime, so nothing happen and then reply with the answer "no one know when" is the only way to avoid problem.

Sorry to bring this to the OP here but the truth is that neither the bible or the Mayans holds any truth about what is been predicted by those hopeful gloom and dooms believers about the end of the world.

So anything that will be posted as opinions here will never be backed by anything but aspirations, wishes and dreams.

Even you OP refering to the bible is nothing but wishful thinking.

is it mis-interpreted....and/or...... no one KNOWS? cause thats what JC said, so he WAS NOT misinterpreted?????????????

Another question, is it LOGICAL that an ALL-POWERFUL God, who wants to convey a message, could do? pls let me know evidence otherwise, ok?

Thx OT

Yep, this is serious, for sure...why would you NOT trust the WORD OF GOD? Are you anti-goodness?

I have been doing OK, thanks for asking my friend, I read your OP and as usual got my attention, you always bring some provocative and interesting side to religion, because of that I can not stay away from it.

But I don't have any prof to back off anything I say so as you can see my post falls on nothing but speculation.

I wish you luck in your quest for the truth, I see a lot of debate coming your way.

Keep well my friend.

It seems you are incapable of posting anything that's not totally slanted toward your King James version of Peter Pan. Why are you even posting on here? I took the liberty of finding you a forum more suited to your line of "thinking."

One little thing people tend to leave out about the Mayans ending their calendar at 2012. Yeah...they start a new one, so I'm really not worried.

Yes, I believe that poster is "anti-goodness" because he has a DIFFERING OPINION. They are also probably terrorist sympathizers.

Maybe you should go to atheist chat? IDK, unless this is an OPEN forum for ALL peoples.

Another moronic Jesus thread from the oldest guy on the boards

You might want to check your sources there OT the Mayans state no such thing.

OT speaking in the third person reminds me of a friends 3 yr old- it's cute at 3, at 50 odd it's just embarrassing.

No one leaves that out for any reason other than it is not technically true. What "they" have found pertaining to the Mayan calendar indicates that it does indeed come to a permanent end a little over 3 years from now.

But what "they" have found is speculated to only be something like

I'm not worried about the Mayan calendar, UNLESS, of course the illuminati try to use it towards their world domination goal.
But, their deadline will ALWAYS be off, Jeshua is ALWAYS RIGHT!

Who said anything about me being an atheist? Oh right, just you jumping to conclusions.

I agree, it is an "OPEN forum for ALL peoples." An open CONSPIRACY forum for all peoples.

Does any topic OT can think up that can be tied to religion qualify as conspiracy? This is just another in a long line of threads blatantly baiting anyone like myself that is tired of this clutter.

Hey there,

The Mayan Prophecy was not made via the esoteric likes of Nostrodamus ... they were made mathematically and astronomically.

Also the scaremongerer's like to leave out part of the overall statement that ...

'The world - AS WE KNOW IT - will end in 2012' ... in no way does it suggest that the world will be destroyed at this time.

As another poster already stated this just happens to be the end of that particular calandar, prior to the start of another cycle.

However, I believe it was Graham Hancock (Fingerprints of the Gods) who worked out that the Earth was due to reverse it's axis in 2012 ... followed by the Sun going into retrograde motion in 2030. (I forget the exact details so forgive me if I have this the wrong way around ... I'm sure someone will step forward to correct me).

Coincidence ?

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Actually, no the Mayans don't say that, they say that their calendar will be renewed in 2012.
it's the new age that's ascribing other interpretations to it, as well as various con artists.

marg6043, yes, I agree....

That is what makes ATS worth it....folks can post their opinions...

It is great, for sure.

Let's see, massive technologically advanced civilization with advanced knowledge of our solar system, cyclical history and architecture and engineering, or tribe of wandering nomads who had to borrow their concept of god from others and historically quashed anything other than so called biblically approved teachings.... I'm leaning mayan on this one.
