The staged event to capture on film G8 wives feeding starving Ghanese children is said to have cost an extimated 500 000 dollars.
Its nice to see aid money used to fly in children from Ghana to eat as a part of an "exhibit" for the spouses of G-8 leaders on July 10. Not to
mention the alarm I feel at children being brought in to perform for the wives on how grateful they are to be given a cup of food a week. We all know
there is no way there should be poverty in this day and age in Africa, it is a controlled and staged starvation.
WFP is the UN agency criticized ... .when showing the wives of the world's leading politicians how they worked was flown poor children from Ghana
to Rome to be fed with porridge. It was on 10 July as Sarah Brown, Margarita Barroso and several other wives of top politicians of the G8 countries
were invited to the WFP, World Food Program, based in Rome.
WFP wanted to show the ladies what great work the organization does in the world. Therefore, was flown to a group of poor schoolchildren from Ghana to
Rome especially for the event. The children would tell me how WFP is helping them. In the tents next to the swimming pool staff were presidential
wives the opportunity to invite the children in the soy maize porridge WFP usually give starving. At the same time called on the majority of the
agency's 1 200 employees to stay home that day.
www.sida.se...
Disgusted WFP staffers were told to stay home from the event found in the following memo
"Due to the security precautions mandated by the Italian government and the visiting delegations, only those employees involved in the event or
deemed necessary for critical operations by their managers will be permitted on the main building premises during the morning of July 10"
Steve Taravella
Chief of Internal Communications, World Food Programme
Via C.G. Viola 68,Rome, Italy 001
It is alleged the WFP staffers feared retailiation for expressing digust at the event, and their disgust is the real reason the were told to stay
home at full pay.
One staffer made the following statement :
anonymous from fear of retaliation, asked if Josette Sheeran would similarly "parade around Food Stamp recipient in the United States," and went
on to suggest that if the G-8 spouses wanted to see "needy Africans" while in Italy, they could check out the camps on Lampedusa...

Inner city press are a UN watch dog publication which is where the original article is sourced from.
UNITED NATIONS, July 7 -- During the upcoming G-8 meeting in Italy, the UN World Food Program is flying school children from Ghana to Rome for a
"simulated food distribution" display for the spouses of G-8 representatives. WFP has ordered staff not involved in the display to not come to work
that day. They will, however, received "special leave with full pay."

Gordon Browns Wife mentions the "feeding event" in her blog
sarahbrowng8.wordpress.com...
Am out early to head back to Rome to the Headquarters of the World Food Programme for a G8 spouses event on Women Saving Lives. We are met by the
Executive Director Josette Sheeran who presents each of us with a red plastic feeding cup – the cup filled with food on their emergency feeding
programmes at the cost of just over ₤1 a week. Many spouses are here: from Canada, EU, Japan, India, and South Africa – and today we are joined by
those from Nigeria and South Korea. A group of school children from Ghana sing and talk about their experience of WFP feeding programmes, and we hear
more about the links to local agriculture and building up community sustainability.
At least Angelina Jolie gets her hands 'dirty' when bringing awarness to their plight, as oppposed to being "entertained" by the little hungry
African children.
Another for the record.

Truly disgusting Zazza, thanks for bringing it to our attention.
I wonder if Mrs Obama was present at this? She is oddly vacant from mention if she was. I would assume they had to word that article very
carefully.
I can't even believe they put "Simulated Food Distribution" in there.
My god, what a crock.

Hi Dad!
The UN is a farce. Ive done another thread on the 'not so united nations' and what a waste they are
www.abovetopsecret.com...
Who in their right mind could think that a feeding exhibit could possibly promote anything other than disgust. The whole event shows the irrlevance of
this organisation, and its lack of any substance, other than to be a corporatoin for posturing for silly meglamaniacs, much like a G8 summit I
spose.
As for the wives, I cant believe they would not have been briefed, and they attened anyway?

According to this Norwegian article, Michelle Obama and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy chose to

Well of course the wives of rich political leaders don't give a damn about anything other than their precious images.
So yeah, I am sure they would have been MORE than happy to attend something that would put them in the same light as humanitarians and peace
promoters.
SICK!

To play devils advocate here (so nothign personal, my usual posting
It might of cost the same amount to fly the wives there. After flight, and security, and personal waitstaff *eye roll* to go to Ghana, it might of
ended up costing the same.
Once at a church function to raise money for starving Africans, we ate a meal of what they would eat. Which was a little plastic cup only half filled
with cooked rice. It would be what they would eat in a day.
If these women were really intersted in understanding poverty, they would go and live in these countries for a few days as the locals do.

The women are kinda not so much to blame as the organisers of the UN/WFP event.
The fact hat they attended Is ridiculous, but Im not sure they saw 'on aper' how offensive this could turn out to be.
The organisers are the ones who need a sharp slap.

Hmmm... so the emergency feeding programme costs "just over $1 a week" (from Sarah Brown's blog) and they spent $500,000 to get the children there
for a "simulated" feeding programme - not a real one. By my math that could have bought 500,000 weeks or $9,615 years of food for these
people. Even if the $1 per week cost is per person, that would have bought almost 10,000 people's food for an ENTIRE YEAR.

This is terrible and the real orwellian future we all face .
The children did not look like the typical starving children, I am sorry but they did not.
This is utter propaganda and nothing else.
500,000 could have made food for years with the proper equiptment brought in and irrigation supplied.
Why can 'they' make gas and oil pipelines that reach thousands of miles and create as many jobs but not be able to pipe in water with filtration
systems for the rebuilding of the poorest nations?
Even creating food in neighboring countries and sent in on a regullar basis.
No Africa is being depopulated for a reason and that is for China/Russia to profit from.

Yes it might but why is it so important (to the PROGRAM) and NOT to the politics of their husbands that they photo op with these children?

We'll make great pets!
We'll make great pets!
We'll make great pets!
Pictures speak volumes. Look at the faces.
Especially the one staring directly at the spooner.
This is indicative of the status of the world.
While the ignorant are performing for their exhibit, the real world is going on, unnoticed.

Embarrassing the least, I really don't see the need for such a parade.
If any of these assholes had any good intentions they would go to Ghana and join these kids in starvation showing their solidarity, asking the world
if there is no help then they would starve like those kids, but they don't give a damn about solidarity, they care about their reputation as an ATS
colleague already mentioned.

This is important information.
I wish this could be known world wide and splashed on headlines of every newspaper.
Thank you for finding this and posting.
And thanks to the mod who helped you translate.
Much truth in what you said that there is no reason there should be this kind of poverty and that it is being orchestrated.
It's not just the UN presenting for the cameras.
How many churches are in US and UK? How many have been collecting at least 10% tithes from all members per year? And for how many years? Where has
that money gone?
Stock portfolios, hefty salaries, corporate ownership of hospitals, bigpharma, etc., private jets, huge estates, etc. etc. And yet they allowed their
congregations to assume they were feeding the poor and upgrading their conditions. People have given and given because they had good hearts and love
for fellow man. The religions have abused what was contributed and have perpetuated false pretenses for monies collected.
The corruption is too deep to ever be solved by man. And I think it is already too late to change it because the greed and corruption has also killed
this planet and too many other life forms.

OFC, Its for propoganda, they got slightly healthier children to
a) show the program works on a cup a week
b) to not upset the ladies with kids with flies on their faces and bones sticking out.

Yes, but they are complicit. And as the faces on the cover, they should be held responsible. And, do not think for one moment that they didn't get
anything for it, they gain stature at the expense of the children - and their stature reflects on their husband's career. THAT is morally wrong but I
am sure that they have convinced themselves it is all for the betterment of the children. They could have said no and did not.

This is what this post is all about. You hit the nail on the head.
The corruption is far reaching.
The poverty is deliberate.
The aid is funnelled.
The restraining of the African continent into a economic powerhouse is conspiracy of epic proportions, of which the UN I suspect are part of.
Aid money rarely goes where it needs to.
