There are millions of people that die everyday. Kennedy's death should be a reminder to all of us. I won't be shedding any tears over the guy.
No one is asking you to shed a tear over him.
What you should do though is put aside your political opinion of him and respect him as a human being who was loved by a lot of people who will miss him.

No R.I.P. for him... maybe a B.I.H.
Ted Kennedy and the entire Kennedy family are a perfect example of what's wrong with US government. The family has produced absolutely NOTHING and has spent their entire existence in politics and they are all millionaires sucking off the people of the US. Kennedy is the perfect example of a career politician and why Senators should be limited to 4-8 years and NOTHING MORE!

Well not everyone can be a respectful, decent human being.
Hopefully when you pass someone won't say the same thing about you. Hopefully they will be able to put aside personal problems and be a little more respectful.
During debate on the Senate floor, Kennedy, speaking of the effects of the act, said, "First, our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same.... Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset.... Contrary to the charges in some quarters, [the bill] will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area, or the most populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia.... In the final analysis, the ethnic pattern of immigration under the proposed measure is not expected to change as sharply as the critics seem to think.... The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs."
It sure seems like California is insolvent. Just today we heard that Arnold Schwarzenegger contacted Hank Paulson to let him know that the State is having liquidity problems (see pdf) and needs help. California ranks as the world’s 9th largest economy with a population of over 30 million people, so this is quite worrying.
The state had an economy that was going gangbusters during the boom. That certainly aided U.S. GDP growth a few years back. Now, house prices are way down in California — San Diego down 31%, San Francisco down 28%, Los Angeles down 30%. And so goes housing, so goes California. The economy is a shambles, unemployment is skyrocketing and tax revenue is plunging. One city in California has already gone bankrupt. Could the whole state be next?
But how exactly do they decide his successor? How does his death affect the super-majority?
Massachusetts, although Democrat, has had many successful Republican Governors, the latest being Mitt Romney.
The current Governor of Massachusetts is Deval Patrick, a Democrat who is farther left than Barack Obama.
In 2004, in anticipation of a presidency win by US Senator John Kerry (D-MASS), Ted Kennedy advocated a bill that would strip the power of the governor to appoint a temporary vacancy in the US Senate. It was replaced by a law that required a special election. This power was stripped away from then Governor Romney in one day's time.
He didn't want Romney to be able to appoint a Republican to the empty Senate seat, should Kerry win the presidency.
Now that it is pretty much a certainty that Kennedy will be unable to return to the Senate because of his illness, he wants the state to change the very law that he endorsed and supported 5 years ago!!
He wants to give the Democratic governor the power to appoint a replacement for him!
The reason is obvious: Kennedy has been a long time advocate of socialized medicine, and he does not want a five month vacancy and less than 60 majority to jeopardize Obamacare.
The political game playing, the hypocrisy, the double standards, are staggering.

What has this man done to really make a difference in all of his pathetic 50 years in politics that couldn't have been done in 4 or 8 years? The Federal Reserve is more powerful than ever!!!!! We are still plugging away on the War on Terror, the War on drugs!!!!!! We are still taxed to death as middle class Americans! Sorry but Kennedy was an empty suit like 3/4 of Washington.
