I've "bashed" him for years, nothing new for me. I DID offer my sympathy prior to the "bash".
Well, atleast there IS a positive to this.....maybe his death will put a little damper on Jacko's "homicide" in the MSM.

MSM are calling him "the most influential law maker in US history". That says it all right there. Look at the shape the US Gov't is in right now. And they credit HIM for most of it. Well, guess that says a lot for Ted doesn't it? (a little early morning sarcasm with my coffee).

RIP Mr. Kennedy. My thoughts are with his very close-knit family. I'm sure this creates a great deal of sadness for them.

The lack of class and compassion shown by too many people on here is very sad. I thought our motto was deny ignorance, to be so hateful when the man has only been gone a matter of a few hours is one of the most ignorant things I can imagine. Whether or not you like his politics, where is the simple human dignity?

At least he is finally reunited with his brothers, and that curse seems to be over now. I do hope that it is anyway. I really didn't think that much of it until John Jr. after that tragedy I really did have to wonder.

RIP Mr. Kennedy! My condolences to his family and his friends. To his enemies, I have to say, show some respect! At least, wait till he's buried till you grab your shovel to pile more dirt on him. And to the poster who asked whether this is the end of an era, the Kennedy era to be precise: no, that era ended back in 1968 when Bobby was killed.

It's amazing to me, the monsters in the basement of mens' hearts. The ones that choose to come out, and the ones that don't. It is indeed too much to expect simple decency from political wind up toys. Wind them up, and they sing the same song over and over again, regardless of the storms outside.

To say that I pity them, and their poisonous hearts, is an understatement. I've seen in this thread conservatives who could look beyond their own politics, and show a fair amount of class for the passing of an American senator. And I applaud them. I've also witnessed the rotting, festering corpse that used to be the high minded spirit of debate at ATS, left to wilt in an arid, desert sun known as shallow politics.

And not dinner table politics. The kind of irrational, prejudiced, closed minded and shallow discourse that governs the animal kingdom and prison riots. A bottom dwelling, lynch mob mentality Ruled by fear. There is an ugliness here. A black souled ugliness, and it will take a long time to scrub this place clean again. And it's not just this thread, it's all over the site.

I don't know what kind of ruinous light governs your day, but I'm glad it doesn't govern mine.

It amazes me, how people on a site like ATS with all it stands for.....are quick to defend the Kennedys. Amazing.
