This is yet another thing you just don't understand and maybe never will until it's too late. Gone are the days of a single group calling the shots. The Chinese people got ripped off when the communist took over.

I'll agree that what you are seeing is caused by external pressure but not by Governments or Secret groups but by human beings such as myself and the ENTIRE rest of the planet. Most of us want the wonderful Chinese to come out and join the rest of humanity.

What you are seeing is a growing grass movements from within. You can blame anybody outside your country for the turmoil but in the end look in the mirror. The people, yes the People of China want out.

It's a sign of weakness to avoid your own issues while pointing out the faults of others and lay blame with them.

You do realize that those are indigenous people and the territory China annexed a while ago don't you?

P. S. I avoid whenever possible Chinese made products.

Kudos to you for not buying Chinese products.

But also learn some history. Uyghurs are Turkic descent, they look like European. They were brought there by Manchu and Mongolian, just like black people in US, I am not sure whether your can call them indigenous people.

your whole post was implying that man, don't play dumb, my English aint that bad yet ;-) it's fine you have your opinion though, it is also fine for selective responding (for example not responding to the article I provided to you about minorities rights in China etc). It is your rights to do so.

That's another one of your problems this has very little to do with minority rights or employment. It has everything to do with lack of individuality. Building shiny new cities and buying fancy new cars are just material objects. They are no replacements for freedom for the masses. Was Tianamin square caused because of lack of minority rights? These are signs of a much deeper issue. One from within China. Your people are not stupid they see what the rest of the world not only has but what they are able to do. They want to join the rest of the world.

You know this isn't the only hot spot nor is it the first. There have been and will continue to be major unrest. It wont stop until the peoples wants are met not just their needs. So please the reason why you are seeing so much turmoil is because all the peoples of China have issues with being controlled in one way or another.

I should not have to remind you of the danger of a gilded cage.

Ummm... his whole point was that if the Uighirs are imported as you claim, there would be proof they were imported.

I can show you proof of the import of both blacks AND whites into the USA, if you really need it.

I can prove they're not indigenous. The offer to you to show proof that Uighirs are not indigenous still stands.

depends on what kind of communism, in the era of Mao it was devastating for the whole country and anyone living here, but today's communism has been long a cocktail of socialism, nationalism and capitalism. Even the national song lyrics are all about Chinese patriotism. The only bit communism I still really feel on the daily life is the favorism towards minorities, as if they are so worse off than Hans..... so is communism evil?

This is again something that a Westerner "THINKS" what a Chinese should think.

For sure, the over majority wants a better life, and more fairness, this is why corruption one of the bigger pest in this country should be wiped out, this is only one of the among hundreds if not thousands of other social issues which would need to be addressed for. This does not mean we need a Westerner to dictate what and how we should live and/or you can remotely come close to what the general consensus of the Chinese really thinks.

When I was flying from Shanghai to Frankfurt I had an interesting conversation with a German guy. He said the following in relation to the AIG bonus several months ago: "The big difference between China and the West, is that in the West when you cheat and steal from everyone, and it is publicly known, you will get even more rewards. At least in China when you cheat and steal from everyone, and it is publicly known, you will simply get the bullet literally". It happens during that time one of the Chinese Tycoon was caught for Fraud. And just last month the corrupted Shenzhen Mayor was also caught.

You know, one thing you are right, we do see what happens in the outside world, but if we want to join the mess what we all can see in USA/Europe? Nah, we better pass it by. Don't forget one thing, you like statistics so much anyhow, There are like over 1.3-1.4 billion Chinese, where as only 7 or 8%% or so is NON-Han, and we have only trouble with Tibetans and Uygurs who combined are like 14 million people only? Which is like plus minus 1% of the pop? Not to mention the inter-racial marriages going on a daily base? So, nah, we have a lesser problem with minorities than in the West I bet. As long as the the Hans are united, there is not much you can say or do to really disrupt our stability and development. And it was a extremely good sign that the Hans in Urumqi united and went on the street openly to show these terrorists our teeth and that we will not be overrun like what is going in the West.

Well instead of the army the authorities sent in hundreds of riot police. Some armed with cross-bows if you can beleive it.It turns out the riot squads not only broke up the fighting but even protected the miniority muslims from certain death/injury from vengeance seeking ethnic Chinese. So good that a bad situation didnt get worse.I think that there will be a police presence there for quite awhile tho...

when americans show their schadenfreude to china, they forget what happened in Los Angeles 1992, conflicts between ethnic groups can be
instigated in anywhere.
of course in american's eyes, china has a original sin-communist leading
country, so china don't have the right to keep its sovereignty and territory
integrity, and every conflict between ethnic groups in china must be caused by oppression.
americans are shallow-brained people, that is why the harder they promote freedom and democracy to the world, the more hatred they get from the world.

Maybe if you gave them their own land back, you wouldn't have those problems with them. It's not like THEY invade CHINA.

It was kind of the other way around.
