Sarah Palin might be a hero to backwards America, but she was a punchline to the rest of us.

That is because you are a silly liberal kook who is in the minority and does not even know it.

You have no basis for your feelings towards Palin except for the liberal dribble you spew like a mindless robot.

Anything negative you have to say against Palin, I can give you something similar or worse regarding Obama. So if the Coke snorting Messiah Gaffe Machine can win, so can Palin.

Oh really?

Well, first of all I know my opinions and beliefs put me in the minority in this country and I don't have a problem with that.

Second, I really don't care if you say negative things about Obama because I have plenty of issues with the way he's running the country, so by all means, speak your mind.

Third, I think the word you meant to use was 'drivel' not 'dribble'. Dribbling is what you do with a basketball.

You Betcha!

Hmm a charismatic (to some people) person steps down from official political duty..

Half the country is afraid of Palin or thinks she is a nut.

Half the country thinks she is a great leader.

Most of the country thinks that the government is running amok.

Palin ran against not only the democrats but is proven to have dogged republicans.

I have no idea what Palin is going to do now.

She has the opportunity and is in the unique position with the credible background among many to attack the government. Our government , with the bailouts, the climate bills, the budget problems, the OBVIOUS favoritism to bankers and Wall Street provides a unique environment for a voice of dissent to rise up.

My two guesses are that someone found dirt on her and she is backing out of political life

or

She is going to non-stop rail against a corrupt government, with a conservative angle, and might incite the portion of the population which is conservative (which is rather large and heavily armed) to do something.

My understnding is that shes going to lay low for a while and study up on foreign affairs and traveling diplomat style just gaining knowledge for the next years. She will run some talk shows and travel the lands making speech engagments throughout the country and possibly the world without a telepromter.

I can go on with how much Obama is destroying this country. All the Liberals I know just go back to bush and says hes stupid, no matter what the conversation is about in the political world. but atleast Bush rarely ever used a Telepromter, I can always find the vids with Obama without his all I heard was uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hes a joke and those who believe in him are jokes as well.

Has to us a teleprompter on one hand....drags country into unjust war at a cost of over 3000 US lives on the other...

hmmm....which to choose?

I have plenty of issues with Obama's policies but George Bush's Presidency was a disaster of epic proportions.

Check your facts sir...

Obama has spent more in over 100 days in office than EVERY US president COMBINED

and to further check your facts he has increased war in Afganistan, even though he scaled back the operations in Iraq due to Iraq Government pressure he still maintains a HUge force in the so called Unjust War. At this point hes having it both ways. Also increased incursion and attacks inside Pakistan.

Un-just sanctions on the innocent civilians on North Korea instead of putting an end to the regime or pushing them.

Give me something bettter your logic horrible and your sir are misguided

Bush not even in the picture anymore so really shouldnt be used a reference point. McCain/Palin was the better choice for this country...hell Hillary was a better choice and both their records where seen to the public

Obama most socialist liberal leaning Senator and Anti gun, Big Government, More Taxes.

Biden continues to screw up on a daily basis but thats a different subject

We can debate which is more expensive, Obama's programs or tens of thousands of lives lost in an unjust war another time.

This thread is about Sarah Palin. If she has truly decided to leave the political scene for good, then I applaud her because she proved herself to be absolutely uneducated on world affairs.

She seems like a nice lady but we don't need any more incompetent people in Washington.

Watching her press conference today (and I think I've seen it four times thanks to the MSM), there was something off about her. She almost seemed scared and incredibly nervous. She seemed to have lost all of her speaking abilities, and acted almost like a former shell of herself that we all saw during the election. Whatever it was, something seemed terribly off with her.

I honestly hope it's just me and not something terrible happening to her or her family, or a scandal about to break. I've honestly never liked her. She's just annoys me for some reason. Regardless, I would hate for anything to happen to her or her family.

Regardless of whether you are pro or anti-Palin, if you use REASON you must realize that if she decides to run for the senate in 2010 or the presidency in 2012 the press will will be all over her for resigning after two and a half years in office. They will deconstruct her life to the last bit to try to find the reason for her resignation. The Democrats will ask America (over and over and over) why we would want to elect someone who resigned midway through her first term as governor. IF she ever wanted higher office, marching down mainstreet nude to announce that she was joining the communist party couldn't have been more destructive.

I am a conservative, but I refuse to vote for clueless, ignorant candidates who get attention by thumping the Bible and sreaming "Less taxes". These people aren't conservative, they are simply hucksters!

My guess is the latter. She is an amazing crowd magnet - she regulary outdrew Obama during the campaign (and that's what scares both libs and softcore Republicans)- and she will be an outstanding fundraiser and beacon for conservative values.

This could be a big boost in the Dem's losing the Congress in 2010. And Obama's Death Knell for 2012. It could also hope to put the brakes to a lot of Obama's destructive legislation that he is cramming down our throats.

This could be good, good, good.

She is a crowd magnet and that certainly concerned the Democratic Party to an extent but even those of you who seem to love this woman have to admit that she simply could never stand up to the intellectual rigors of a Presidential Campaign.

She has no and I mean NO concept of foreign affairs. She is a terrible debater (unless you think winking is an effective debating tactic) and what many voters didn't like about her was that she was clearly unqualified and ill equipped to be VP never mind President.

No one is afraid of her. Many us would fear for our country's future if hockey mom of the year was ever within a mile of the Oval Office.

We are all better off, immeasureably so, if she walks away and becomes what she claims to be; a hockey mom.

Waves hi to Watchman...

I agree with you 100%!!!

Recently Ms.Palin visited my hometown in Upstate NY for a "Founder's Day" celebration and several people I know well paid to "meet and greet" her in a small personal gathering.

Every single one of them said "She is an "idiot"...I am quoting here not judging. Not one of 7 people had anything positive to say about her except that "she is very pretty."
They said her conversational skills are "lacking" and that she flat-out refused to chat about anything of importance...she talked about her kids, her clothes, and the weather just as any other family-oriented person might in a polite social setting.
She gave NO indictaion that she took the position she holds seriously in their opinion and all are white-collar professionals in the area who are aware of world issues.

I wish her well nut do NOT believe she is qualified in any way, shape,or form to advance (or be advanced) in a political career of intent and purpose.

I hope she can have a great life ahead and will no doubt make a financial "killing" doing the talk-show/lecture circuit where they will focus on "her"and nothing else of importance and she'll get to chat only about that as well.

Well, there are some sources saying a scandal IS about to break!

Did an Embezzlement Scandal Force Sarah Palin to Resign?

Sarah Palin may have quit her job today because she was trying to avert a major, yet-to-be-disclosed corruption scandal. The gist of the rumor is that an Alaska building company called Spenard Building Supplies (SBS) was awarded a contract by Palin to build a hockey arena in Wasilla, AK, and in return, SBS helped construct Palin’s home:

Many political observers in Alaska are fixated on rumors that federal investigators have been seizing paperwork from SBS in recent months, searching for evidence that Palin and her husband Todd steered lucrative contracts to the well-connected company in exchange for gifts like the construction of their home on pristine Lake Lucille in 2002.

And a little more from another source, ...

Did An Embezzlement Scandal Force Sarah Palin To Resign?

SBS has close ties to the Palins. The company has not only sponsored Todd Palin's snowmobile team, according to the Village Voice's Wayne Barrett, it hired Sarah Palin to do a statewide television commercial in 2004.

Though Todd Palin told Fox News he built his Lake Lucille home with the help of a few "buddies," according to Barrett’s report, public records revealed that SBS supplied the materials for the house. While serving as mayor of Wasilla, Sarah Palin blocked an initiative that would have required the public filing of building permits—thus momentarily preventing the revelation of such suspicious information.

Just months before Palin left city hall to campaign for governor, she awarded a contract to SBS to help build the $13 million Wasilla Sports Complex. The most expensive building project in Wasilla history, the complex cost the city an additional $1.3 million in legal fees and threw it into severe long-term debt. For SBS, however, the bloated and bungled project was a cash cow.

Sounds to me like a pretty good reason for her to resign!

Sarah Palin is a person who likes to be in the limelight, winning the Miss Wasilla beauty pageant and being runner up in the Miss Alaska pageant, becoming mayor of Wasilla, governor of Alaska, and making a run for the vice president of the US!

This is somebody who likes to be center stage, the center of attention, for people to see her and to hear what she has to say.

Do you REALLY think somebody like Sarah Palin would, VOLUNTARILY, for NO reason whatsoever, step out of the limelight!

I don't think so, unless something VERY BAD was on the horizon for her!

Bad girl, no biscuit!

Apparently Sarah has Tweeted in the past half hour, saying "It is good", which sorta rules out scandal or sickness. So her naysayers will have to dig elsewhere.

At the end of the 2008 campaign, she was routinely outdrawing the crowds over Obama. She is well respected and will hopefully remain in politics. And, she can speak without a teleprompter.

Ya and she is more adorable than the snuggle soft bear and her voice can shatter
bullet proof glass within a two mile radius

Maybe she should Join the Justice league!

No, no... I think Sanford is a much more exemplary example of conservative values in action.
