I reckon that's a tree and some rocks. You can see the exposed inner lighter coloured part of the tree at the break. Looks like it was snapped in a high wind and is being held together by the bark.

So yeah, guessing fossilized tree and rocks.

That would be just as dramatic, maybe even more so! If they found a fossilized tree, it might actually get released into MSM! If it is a statue, we will never know.
