Certainly, we may find a small handful, but on the whole, the system works, and has been working well for quite some time.

Before this "system", nobody even understood the "mysterious bar code color thing", I just don't understand why people are so upset over this new way of showing appreciation to members who have contributed to this site!

And this is not because I've got this "gold" thing now

Most of the "complaining" I see about this new system of recognition is due to the fact that some people, who have been here for a long time, haven't really started a whole lot of threads, and therefore, haven't gotten a whole lot of flags needed to be where they feel they think they should be.

I do a LOT of perusing of news sites and other sites to try to contribute more "content" to this site!

I think that should be every bodies goal who truly likes ATS!

A little recognition for the people, who start more threads/topics, for their effort to bring more info to ATS, shouldn't be an issue!

Since we all desire to see the best possible content here on ATS,

True, a lot of people who contribute to a new thread deserve credit, but, it does take the person who started that thread/topic, sometimes, a lot of effort/searching, to even start that thread!
