Most of us commonly accept that history repeats itself.

I start feeling my self the agony that a bad era is about to unleash uppon us.

I do not know whether general global meltdown from economics and ethics to politics is a carefull planned scennario by a few or just the outcome of bad practice.

What i know is the agony i get when i consider history.

The whole scennario prety much reminds me that of a pre war season.

And the reality today seems quite ugly. I do not feel that a saviour is going to come out of the blue since the extend of the crisis is global and sphairical.

Forgive me for being pesimistic or negative but MY gues is that i am not the only one sharing this perspective.

The past has shown that similar situations have led to WAR. I hope most of us understand what war means.......

Technology today makes things even more complicated and the consequences of war and what it means will propably be rewritten...

If history repeats itself, and the unexpected always happens, how incapable must Man be of learning from experience. George Bernard Shaw Irish dramatist & socialist (1856 - 1950)

For the time being all i can do is writte this thread be the best person i can and pray.

I wish you think differently and make my day by proving my feelings wrong!

I'd love to make your day, believe me but...

I start feeling my self the agony that a bad era is about to unleash uppon us.

That time has come and gone my friend, we are in a "bad era" as we speak.

I don't know about another world war, but, these times we are living in aren't good.

World war 3 is well in the realm of possibilities.

Unfortunetly my friend, I have to agree with the above poster.

Yes the war is coming, it may not be the kind of war we anticipate though. It may be a trade war, it may be a Civil War in between people's all over, it may be a nuclear war, a chemical war, a war against a new strain of disease.

Anything can and will happen, the only question is when?

Saddle up folks, were all in this ride and there is no turning back. Keep you're loved ones close, and try to do the things you've always wanted to in the next couple of years.

I doubt it. Still, Israel may move on Iran in the near future to pre-empt their nuke construction.

Remember: No war without soldiers.

Its quite fortunate that we are holding up at the time, will we last?
What are the decisions to be taken soon for us against us?
After all the way that democracy is practised has led it far from its ideals...

Two years ! I wish....
That could be enough time for a ....reform. Is that even possible at this stage?

Couldn't agree more, may not be World War 3, could be anything.

Could even be a "War of the Worlds" scenario.

Anything could happen.

I like to call this the "Era of Uncertainty"

A world war isn't going to happen,if it does like Einstein said WW4 will be fought with sticks and stones.I also dont see a major civil war across many western nations either, and i also dont see the sort of economic collapse people here think will happen, there will definetly be tough times ahead no doubt but not in the grandiose sense alot of people here think.Im probably just naive...

When industrialized nations can no longer freely trade among themselves, because trust has broken down, civility breaks down, civilization itself breaks down.

There is then no recourse left but to secure by military force that which you can no longer purchase, but upon which the existence of your nation depends. The military competition to secure resources is know as war.

I truly wish I could disagree with you, but I haven't got it in me.

Yes, we are in a really horrible era at the moment. But what does that have to do with war? I mean, my country (the USA) cannot afford its ridiculous wars any more. I'm hoping this will actually mean less war.

Now, I know Hitler's rise was in the midst of horrible depression, but couldn't that be an exception rather than a rule? Call me naive if you will but I hope this is not what really is common with economic depression.

Actually friend they could use the economic depression as an excuse to go to war.

The sad thing is that war provides profit for people who build weapons and have a vast ammount of technology up for grabs. The US is one of those countries.

Besides all they need to do for money is to have the Fed print more. Don't believe the propaganda, this crisis has been made up, it is very real, but not at the same time.

I know it does not seem to make sense, but they artificially create these situations to instill fear within the markets leading to a crash. Then they give people jobs as soldiers and bomb makers while they slaughter innocents half way around the world.

Don't be surprised to see a draft if the needs arises. They won't pull any punches in the next few years.

And no economic is not the only depression. We have civil depression, foreign trade depression.

When an economy collapses or is on the verge of doing so, it weighs the whole system down.

IMHO believe that the actual time of war and the vicious cycle has expired, what is happening is a delay of the event is occuring now.

A storm is coming. There will be war. But it will be a war between the government of the United States and the citizens.
Now is the time to start feeling out your friends and neighbors and think about forming cells to fight the oppression.
We have to form an underground that makes the underground of WWII pale by comparison.

i do not think its all that simple.
living outside the US i see the bigger picture and i would say you do not need have such worries!
You will be ok with your government citizenwise.
Cannot guarantie that about your foreign politics....or other nations for that matter.

i see a lot of threads within ats at the moment dealing with a problematic citizen-state relationship and all kinds of militia scenarios. I cannot see you people having such problems in reality. To me this is just a different expresion of my angst, pointing out in global scenarios.

Unfortunately I agree with the majority. Something is coming and everyone has sensed it for awhile now. It is becoming more apparent all the time. I really think we are just lucky to even still be here!
Thnk about how many times we have already came close to nuclear war. That is just the times we know about. What about the stuff we dont?
Man has a historical record of using whatever weapons he creates on himself given enough time.

I dont think Hiroshima or Nagasaki are fresh enough in minds to prevent this from happening again. I have been afraid of this scenario since buttros-gali(sorry for spelling)was assasinated.

Then there is always the threat of pandemics, natural disasters, biological weapons, ecological and environmental change, etc, etc.

We ARE lucky to have this beautifull and complete planet to live on and we act like children with its upkeep. We are slowly depleting and polluting our ONLY habitat. Yet we still argue and do little to address the real problems.

These distractions are keeping us from doing something about the long term survival of our species, and the more I look at the courseness of mankind, maybe its best we dont infect the galaxy with our brand of trust and friendship. lesson learned, signing off thankfull for the chance to try!

As we have learned on 9/11, it doesnt take much to send everything into a tailspin and thats when people get real crazy! You really want war?
Do a serious study on it and you'll decide anything else is ultimately better.
The exeption being slavery, torture, etc. IMO.
Thank for your posts and input!

As long as mankind will live according to the past, history will repeat itself.
When we'll realize that we have to live in the present of our conscience, we'll be free. Freedom of the mind is the ultimate goal we must achieve.
