I wasn't going to comment on this thread but I will sink down to this level for a few moments and say a few things:

1) Rape is an act of violence and not one of lust ; and
2) Pornography is making it's way into the mainstream, you see it in mainstream movies, on TV, porn stars running for office etc ect
3) This kind of game will only stop when mysogynistic men can empathize with the violation raped women experience during and after the fact. Perhaps the answer is a series of games and movies where hetero men are raped by other men. I mean doesn't every man really really want to make it with another man?

Hardly. As an avid gamer I come across all sorts of "intresting" games. The Japanese are known ( amongst gamers) as having sometimes disturbing scenarios in their games.

That being said, killing hookers, decapitating people and running over grannies seems to be ok...a weird world we live in.


Make no mistake about it though you can find this kind of content in more Wester games as well. Take a look at Second Life - Believe me this type of content and worse is readily available there. ( search for Kidnap RP for example - not that I have..*blushes*)

It's not for me, therefore I choose not to view it - However I do choose to support the right for ADULTS to make the decsion to view or play games which might to some seem...wrong.

If you don't like it, don't buy, download, or view it.

Article 21 of the Japanese Constitution guarantees freedom of expression and prohibits formal censorship. That's why you can buy a book on any subject ot games like that here. If freedom of speech was this absolute in the U.S., we all know someone would be making these games there.

Yes, and the wording of laws that don't protect women and people from violence, and this is a biggie in terms of violence, need to be reworded. Laws are simply tools usually written by the wrong folk for the wrong reasons. They're not written in stone, should be easily changed and transmuted, and this is one of the big reasons for a carefully worded law that insures this is seen as the CRIME it is.

sliding scale, maybe people have issues with such depictions in movies (various contexts notwithstanding), but specifically a GAME, in which you control a character for fun, a character who gang rapes women and kids, I think that is right at the top of the scale

I hope that sick *insert expletive* who created it receives some sort of karmic justice

I am willing to contribute money for a video game where hetero men are raped by other men (homoseual or hetero men) . Why not? As people have said it's human nature and there has to be freedom of speech etc etc.

Phoenix - it's always fun to play devil's advocate, but pretty much your argument is weak. There are too many studies out there proving a desensitization after continual exposure to violence.

OK I respect your opinion. And I do agree about women rights etc. (men also get abused by media, I mean look at all those dumb, arrogant, angry, violent, crazy men you see in dramas and comedies, while the wife is intelligent, boss of the house etc lol , it goes both ways )

I don't agree with banning, especially with art, I guess banning stuff makes me very uncomfortable, I think, what next?

People are now using technology to work out their fantasies. That is all it is. There is a massive difference between reality and fantasy.

There is a lot of crazy or twisted stuff in virutal communities. Including rape zones. But if you ask anyone if they would do this in real life, they absolutely would not. Even then it is not really considered rape because the women enter the realm voluntarily. It is just roleplaying.

Psychologically it is more about control, or giving others control. Most likely the control freaks in real life are submissive in these realms, and vice versa. Most people can't ask their spouses to roleplay like they would like.

Now I admit, the abortion thing is creepy. But I am sure that is about control as well.

since Japan is such a strict society, it doesn't surprise me that underground, they are the largest producers of this material. There is kinda a loophole in their society that allows this as a release. Which is why public drunkeness is so acceptable.

It can be argued that rape is evolutionary. While some psychologists argue that is it about control, some are going against the grain and looking at the evolutionary history of it. Many species force sex. Most of the women who are raped are of child bearing age. Those women suffer more emotional scarring then women who are post menopausel or children.


You could force a female of a neighboring tribe to produce your offspring.

Maybe cavewomen didn't have a lot of choice about when they had sex. Which is conducive to a lot of the animal kingdom.
It is a strong biological urge to reproduce.

You see a lot of female animals running for their lives.

Personally, i think it is far better that someoen with these desires satisfies it virtually then in reality.
