I am sure he got plenty of notice. I am sure there are some sort of shelters out there.

Now some of you want to give him free power? Not only would this be abuse to the system, but also socialism.

When people no longer work for their needs the country will fall to a greater depth.

Keep in mind I said excluding details...we do not have to go into corporate green, Obama, and all that jitter - but look at the basics. He did not pay for it - he will not get it.

I would blame the gov for keeping to themselves the secret(s) to produce energy in your own place or in your own building with no need for wires from the centrals... with no need for centrals at all

I would blame Eisenhower for keeping to himself when Telsa showed him all his inventions an ideas, and thought first on his selfish dreams of getting richer and enslaving EVERYONE to pay a power bill EVERY MONTH

come on people, enough of being stupid and naive.. electricity can be produced in a consistent manner and cheap compared to years and years of bills

the same goes for petrol and water! water now is more expensive than petrol in some countries.. don't bother setting up a petrol station, bottle water and resell, you'll get rich..

water .. clean water .. should be free.. a public service.. not a business commodity

companies owners/shareholders only think of how to extract the latest penny from all.

free market capitalism is based on a concept of an equal playing field. the fact of the matter is that there is no such thing as a free market or equal playing field. large utility companies like DTE in michigan are free from both competition and oversight. monopolizing services such as electricity and natural gas while also allowed to adjust rates without any regulation or oversight is outright criminal. DTE was afforded this luxury by the Bush administration somewhere around 2001 when these protections were lifted in exchange for campaign contributions. immediately DTE customers in MI. saw there electric and natural gas charges doubled.

without regulation they simply added a new charge to every account for monthly delivery. this was an easy calculation as it mirrored your monthly charges. if your gas bill was $185.98 this month, you now also paid another $185.98 for delivery of the gas. for example my collision shop heating bill went from averaging around $3200 in the coldest months, which already was quite a strain, to around $6400. since then it has further increased 20% more with warning of an upcoming 10% in the near future. I now without the option of any other suppliers to price adjust, which is how the concept of free market works, have no choice to but pay around $10000 per month in cold months for heat. the same is applied for electricity and water & sewer is coming next.

is it fair that my business must close because of such gross increases in utility costs alone? my business cannot follow these pricing methods. i'm not asking for free power, but unlike DTE, regulations applied to me make paying these rates impossible! does that label me an abuser of the system? should i have to close my 20 year old business and go to a shelter solely due to DTE, does that sound fair? you don't find this "absurd"? is an old man on a fixed income condemned to death for inability to pay unfair rates? who exactly is causing the country to fall to greater depths?

you feel compelled to defend DTE's right to grossly increase rates while monopolizing energy services to the point of death? do you think they were still justified now that you know this? i hope not.

If you can't afford it you don't deserve it. Why should the undesirables of the world be given handouts? I certainly think not. If you aren't capable to keep yourself going then well you don't deserve to be around. I'm not suggesting intentionally just killing people, but people need to have some sense of self-responsibility.
