and you know what? That would be fine if it weren't literally every other thread in the sidebar. I think its the sheer repetition of this inane drivel that is driving me slowly insane.

OMG, did you know Obama is a Socialist?!

OMFG REALLY? WTF? I NEVER HEARD THAT ONE BEFORE!!

I do not support Obama, but I agree with you. ATS isn't a conspiracy theory website anymore to me, its a hang out forum for people who think politics works, theres no NWO, governments don't rob 3rd world countries, Rockefellers and Rothschilds are good people and innocent and a massive blind skeptic hangout.

Opposition is expected, but its bad, its not even good opposition half the time.

Just like HiAlien said:

"**** Logical Fallacy: False Either/Or Choice *****
You don't like Obama? you must be a Neo-Con.
You don't like Hitler? You must support Stalin.
You don't like Beef? You must love Pork.
You don't like red? Well you must love blue."

ldunquist also hit the nail on the head as well.
Thats the kinda crap I see here the majority of the time (Around 70%?)

I'm not reading this whole thread because I can just imagine what it contains.

But if you want to do a little research on the answers to your questions, you might start with checking out why the liberals have spent the last decade, or more, bashing conservatives - here on ATS and everywhere else.

With that in mind, and since obama is hardly "perfect", you can expect at least four years of dissecting every move obama and other liberal leaders make.

Ain't karma grand?

Forced. Yes, you are forced to be here! Us Neo-Cons are holding a gun to your head and making you open those threads.

Just like I'm forced to give a portion of my hard earned pay to lazy slackers who don't deserve it.

Keep smokin that Hope-Bong boy!

I don't know where you got your info from (no link) But I was reffering to this version of "neo-con"

The term neoconservative was originally used as a criticism against liberals who had "moved to the right".[1][2] Michael Harrington, a democratic socialist, coined the usage of neoconservative in a 1973 Dissent magazine article concerning welfare policy.[3] According to E. J. Dionne, the nascent neoconservatives were driven by "the notion that liberalism" had failed and "no longer knew what it was talking about." en.wikipedia.org...

But I will concede to your translation for the purpose of this thread.

I'm a Neo Con and proud of it.

I think Bush is one of the great Presidents in our history.

We have to play ball out in the middle East

They thought they had another 50 years, maybe a hundred to play with each other and king and queen eachother. Nope, plans changed.

America said we are the bosses of your lands. You want to keep them? Fine, but you have to play by our rules.

If you can't, we'll do it for you.

That's what liberals don't have the balls to do, is take a tough stance, an ahead of your time approach, to break down the middle east before they became too powerful. a super powerful middle east is a game changer.

Maximillion, if you read the whole thread you'd known I got it from my post I am replying to.

And conservativejack, we have to tell other countries what do and play world police?

If we spent as much money on the Iraq war, as we did Hydrogen Vehicle technology and energy independence, we could give the big 'ol middle finger to the middle east. Then we wouldn't have our president playing Kissy Kissy Smash Face and holding hands with the King of one of the most Extreme, Idealogically, a-holes in the middle east.

But sure let's spend all our cash on the wars, and there oil(so they can become rich). I'm sure that won't bite us in the ass... ooo wait a sec.

Iraq War cost money

We should use that money to build a Hydrogen Vehicle

And attain "energy independence"

Our President is playing hardball with Saudi Kings? Didn't get that one.

That's basically what you just said...right? Something along those lines....

Have you fogotten about Israel and WW2? The holocaust? Arabs use oil prices to try and get their way. They are little children. You sir, need to study up, take some college level courses, and learn a lot of American history.

I feel like you are emotional and not rational. Knowledge is power.

You sir, need to know that your opinions are not new on this board. There are many like you who already say the same exact thing.

Yes, trust me, we all hear about Israel daily on this board. I am aware of it. I am not sure how it relates to getting energy independent or Iraq though...

When I first came to ATS I was not to interested,

But I thought the whole point of this forum was to dig for the truth that the government keeps hidden.

I didn't know that this only applied to Republicans?

What did I miss?

What I find rather amazing is the fact that this is a conspiracy website and your complaining about conspiratorial subjects?

HELLO? (knock, knock, knock), anybody home?

Lets not forget that of course there will be people that disagree with the current President Elect and will be posting here full of 'vim and vigor' with every conceivable (and sometimes ridiculous) concept, theory, accusation and general malcontent. It's to be expected and will take some time for things to settle down everywhere, not just in or on this website.

But what is possibly equally disturbing is that the original poster complains about a subject that "he" (being a human with free-will) is willing to involve himself by creating one himself that surely one must know will create controversy in itself. There may be some other latent or emotional feeling backing your desire for your wanting to add to what seems to disgust you.

The bottomline with this website and any online area is that if you don't approve or agree with a subject matter, or it bothers you in the slightest, then don't get involved with them. Avoid them them like the plague and your stress will magically disappear.

Wow.. how incredibly simple of a solution is that?

I can totally agree with those types of posts becoming more and more over whelming on the pages of ATS but to me this just tells me the Radical Rights are all pissed off and frankly scared that they don't feel like they're in control. I would agree that these posts are senseless and alarming on a cultural front but I also find them to be cry's of help that won't soon be answered by any man they've put their trust into; so let them walk down that old tired road, where all the answers are the same, and they're clueless in a world thats left them behind.

If that's how you feel, then would you also respect the rights of Middle Eastern countries to do the same to the US?

After all, what's good for the goose is also good for the gander, right?

55,000,000 people voted against Obama

I was one of them

I voted for McCain because he served his country his whole life.

Do I feel bad for him? Yes, of course.

Do I feel bitter than Obama (a charismatic, impressive man) won? No not at all, in fact, I like the man a great deal and have the up-most trust in him.

I just thought McCain lived a more dedicated life towards his Country.

I think Obama will do whatever it takes to establish a strong legacy and if that means governing from the left or center-left, that's what it means.

But, welfare programs influence culture and society a great deal. Philosophically, I think Obama knows that education is broken, there are very few high paying jobs for regular folks, college costs are rising, terrorists are planning, Russia is reviving herself once more...the cold war is heating up.

That's not liberal or conservative, that my friends, is American.

I've studied up plenty on our countries invovlement in the Middle East. American History interests me especially, not just World War 2 but the Revolutionary and Civil Wars as well.

Yes we need to throw more money at Israel so they can do what? They pushed back how many countries in the 5 day war? I think they're doing fine on there own and don't need that $30 billion + we give to 'em every year.

Does that clarify what I was talking about?
Did you forget that 15 of the terrorists on 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia. Their country and, schools like theres, are the root of our problem.
Last time I checked none of the terrorists were of Iranian or Iraqi descent. It was places like Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt(another "friend" of ours)
Or did you forget one of Bin Ladens main goals was to get our bases out of Saudi Arabia? Hmm he didn't have to do much to attain it.
en.wikipedia.org...

It's because of shennanigans like this:

Kermit "Kim" Roosevelt (1916 - 2000) Kermit Roosevelt, Jr. was the mastermind of the Central Intelligence Agency's (CIA) Operation Ajax, which orchestrated the coup against Iran's democratically-elected Mohammed Mossadegh administration, and returned Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the Shah of Iran, to Iran's Peacock Throne in August 1953 for the purpose of returning Western control of Middle Eastern oil supplies.

That we have such a problem with the middle east. Including the fact that our "Allies"(I prefer backstabbers) in the middle east don't like Israel much either

Well..My issue with political debate on ATS is slightly more pointed.

I originally found ATS while researching a UFO sighting in my area at Ohare airport. Every other thing I could find on the internent about the sighting was just plain second rate in comparison to the posters at ATS.

They were examining photo evidence, sharing maps of the airport and corresponding times and directions of sightings. Quickly sorting through the BS and hoax photographs. Even corresponding with actual witnesses and journalists who were covering the sighting!!! It was awesome.

I made the mistake of assuming all topics were approached with the same scrutiny and intelligent analysis.

My problem with Political debate on ATS is the goal seems to be to SMASH, SMEAR, SLAM by any means neccessary. Finding the truth about a given political thread is almost discouraged by the OP. Agenda over facts or truth. Once something is proven false...no apologies, no light bulbs going off in peoples heads...they just move on and post another distorted thread.

It is in stark contrast to how a UFO sighting or other topic is typically approached here. Start with evidence. Don't assume it is real, examine the facts and then thumbs up or down or undecided.

It would be cool if everyone just cared about the actual truth of a given political topic and examined all the facts objectively, rather than simply wanting to trash people with a certain political view and holding on to a pre-concieved notion no matter what.
