The command post recieved a report from Cloquet. At 4:30, whilst driving home he passed through the town of Esko. He saw a cigar shaped object with red, green and white flashing lights, going up and down and making sharp turns.

Diamount, your not wrong about that and Internos authored some truly remarkable threads over the years (including this one) - he stated on this thread that it was to be his last post on ATS and he's going to be sorely missed on these boards.

This is an incredible story I just happened to watch on youtube. Pretty difficult to debunk without resorting to the near impossible idea they're lying. Naturally ATS already has the scoop. I didn't search to see if this video had been posted within the thread so if so my apologies! Thread could use a bump. It is an amazing account. In the helicopter, they thought they were falling, instruments said they were falling, but they were actually going up? I just don't know how anyone is going to explain this one.

Newcovenant, it certainly is a fascinating case and I've never realy heard any tenable prosaic explanations for this one either, especialy when you factor in the separately located witnesses on the ground - it's not realy about the incident but did find this photograph of Lt Col. Coyne, Sir Eric Gairy, J. Allen Hynek, Jacques Vallée etc. attending the United Nations UFO study meeting in 1978 - apparently government documents have now emerged which state the U.K. government tried to stop them forming a committee.

The file includes many pages detailing the British government's attempt in 1978 to derail the country of Grenada's plan to convince the United Nations to form a special UFO study committee..

Just last year a whole herd of UFOs flew parallel with I-95 just North of here, across the PA line. It was reported on all news stations.

These days unless an alien lands on The Mall and walks out with a big robot (Michael Rennie called them "a race of robots") mere sightings cause a momentary stir and then yawns.

After the well documented Phoenix lights sighting it's really difficult for the deniers to explain them away with govt approved "swamp gas" and "radar balloons" whoppers.

We're waiting for the next encounter to be made public, such as a UFO lifting the prez off the platform on Inauguration Day on live TV.

When the president is returned after a thorough probing then we'll have to contend with those who are waiting to pounce, and label UFOs as "fallen angels" and/or demons.

If UFOs cannot be reconciled with The King James Bible then some folks will still deny their senses and cling to "The Big Man In The Sky" belief.

The key information is quite consistent between the different drawings. Some of the people are obviously just much better in their drawing skills.

I agree this is one of the most fascinating UFO accounts, particularly the close sighting by the four men in the helicopter and the apparent effects of the vehicle on the helicopter (raising it from its evasive dive maneuver).

Manistee (UPI)- What is three times the size of a jumbo 747 jet, the shape of an X-15 experimental rocket, and has rotating red, green and white lights?

The entire Manistee County Sheriff's Department Thursday night insisted they were eyewitnesses to a display of five...UFOs.

"There was a big bright light in the east...two objects coming from the south...red, white and green lights something like an airplane...graveling together towards the light...back and forth" said Sheriff's Deputy Neil Renne.

Renne said the objects, which were not discernable as common sights, sat hovering in the sky over this northern Lake Michigan community for nearly an hour.

Deputy John Giplczik, who was dispatched to the city airport to get a closer glimpse of the flashing sights, said one came within one half mile of the ground as if to land.

"It looked like the experimental Air Force rocket, but much larger," he said.

"It looked like it was going to land and then there was a real dead silence."

A local citizen, sho asks to not be indentified, said the UFOs kept changing colors and four of them seemed to drift westward over Lake Michigan.

"It was really something," Giplczik said. "Anyone who doesn't believe in UFOs is stupid."

Forty years ago today, a four-man crew of an Army Reserve helicopter was flying over Mansfield, Ohio, around 11:00 p.m. when they "encountered a near midair collision with an unidentified flying object," according to the official report, signed and submitted by the crew after the incident.
