Is there proof McCain is behind this or are you just stirring things up with false allegations? It's a tactic that both Israelis and Muslim radicals have been using since the Balfour Declaration and British Mandate, even framing each other for acts committed by themselves.

It really doesn't help blaming, especially when there are no facts. A person is innocent until proven guilty. Overstepping that legal process is mob rule. It's exactly that kind of emotionalism that allowed Hitler to come into power.

We really should get beyond this false belief that "my" worldview is the correct worldview and if only everyone believed like "I" do, we'd all be saved. Democrats, Republicans, Muslims, Jews, Christians, etc. -- we're all to blame. No one is without sin. Saying otherwise is only deceit.

Violence against "Arab Americans"? First off, where do you begin with assuming that all of these Muslims are Arabs? There are just as many Asian Muslims in this country as well, and even American Muslims. Second, sad to say but the Muslim Community has brought the disgust, hatred, and violence upon themselves. The last time I checked Muslim Extremists were slicing the heads off infants, blowing up women in markets, and dissecting family pets to load them up with explosives and turn them into IED's. The Muslims have no one to blame but their fellow Muslims (albeit radical ones) for such biased attitudes towards themselves.

Also, you have absolutely NO proof whatsoever that Senator McCain has ANY involvement with this group. The first person to throw that allegation to the forefront was Ibrahim Hooper, the spokesman for the Council For American-Islamic Relations. He did so in his attempt to have the production group behind the Documentary shut-down, by legally having their status declared as "Politically Affiliated".

Not to mention that you have no right to call a factual documentary "Fear Mongering". If educating the public on the threats we truly face is "Fear Mongering", then Sticking Your Head In The Sand must be your skewed version of reality.

I watched the 12 minute version of that "Obsession" and, I must say, it could definitely spark some radical Americans...we all know we have them here too. Careless. True, we should be aware of what we're up against, but that video has a purpose and that purpose is to create a monster and the only reason to create a monster is to justify destroying that monster. Anyone with half a brain can figure that out.

How widespread are these DVD's? Did anybody here get one unsolicited in the mail?

I'm sure anyone can watch it on Google video, but that doesn't have the same publicity impact as direct mailings.

According to the article posted by frogs they are still investigating and are not sure what the irritant was, or where it came from.

I'm confused though is this a thread about the possible gassing of children, or is it a thread to bash a political candidate ? I do not understand your reference to McCain in regards to this.

I saw McCain campaign name all over the DVD. right . and it only shows whats been happening with the children and the thought process of thier parents. truth hurts

Omid Safi, a professor of Islamic studies at UNC-CH, has researched the video and the Clarion Fund. He says the producer of the video is a Canadian native who now is a rabbi and Zionist leader in Israel. Distribution was aided by a Christian Zionist organization headed by Texas evangelist John Hagee, he said, and a Clarion Fund Web site recently published, then removed, an article that endorsed John McCain over Barack Obama for president.

Safi noted that the DVD was placed in newspapers only in key election swing states, suggesting it's intended to scare voters into the McCain camp. "The whole premise of this film is that the West doesn't know what radical Islam represents," Safi said. "Fair enough. Tell us what you represent." My calls to the Clarion Fund were not returned.

I think newspapers have an obligation to be as transparent as possible with readers about the information they provide. In this case, I think the DVD fell short in two respects.

First, it should have been labeled as paid advertising content, as the newspaper would require of a political advertisement. Despite the story on the front page, it's clear from their comments that some readers perceived the video as somehow endorsed by The N&O. McClure said it's the first time he could recall that The N&O has distributed a DVD.

More important is the lack of information about the source of this controversial content. Without that, the readers were not in a position to make an informed judgment about the message they received.

Now this deeply saddens me. After 911 some kid in Cleveland took his mustang and sent it sailing thru a mosque at 80 mph. It was a wonder no one was killed.

This kind of reactionary foolishness is very depressing. And we wonder why aliens avoid us like a bad jerry springer episode.

I live in Columbus, Ohio and I have to learn waht is going on in my state through ATS. Go figure. This is the first I have heard of this and I watch the news as I am doing now and in the evening.

I'm not sure what happened exactly, but it is sad to say the least.

With all that is going on in the USA eight now you would think people would have more to worry about than some stupid maling they got.

By the way I never received anything in the mail like what was described. I wonder if it was sent to the voters of Dayton and not other cities.

what is of serious concern is that both Obama and McCain (and Palin now) have all been directly asociated with radical Chrisitanity - which as history shows is just as bloody as any other radical group.

Most provacative stance Harleguin. I have thought the same many many times. I am a chronic pbs watcher. And some of the documentaries regarding to the churches philosophies have been disturbing at best.

I have my views of religion and other's have their's so what's the big deal?
I may or may not believe that If someone does not accept Jesus as there savior that they will go to hell, If i see someone searching for something religious to worship, sure I'll point them to my own, the one I know but in no means does someone else have any right what-so-ever to force a belief of a god on another. That is just pure ignorance or selfishness, I'm not sure which.
