I don't think Americans ( Read: Most) have any idea what life is like in Mexico. Perhaps they went on a hen night in Cancun or got drunk in Tijuana , but those two places do not Mexico make. It would be like saying America is like Disney World or New York.

Mexicans come to America because it is the closest to them that is BETTER then their country. The Serbs come to the UK because it is closer to them - I think that is the best and most credible explanation.

I've been an immigrant - in both America and the UK. Both treat their immigrants with disdain and yet both are dependent on immigrants both now and in the past.

Something very drastic has to occur to make the general consensus of " They are screwing up our country so good riddance" that is displayed regulary on these forums. Thankfully we are socially mature enough to not let THAT happen.

Let's not make this another thread about "whites" and "browns" and "beige" and "pink" and "purple" and go down the whole freaking rainbow.

The thread is about poverty and how it's affecting Americans and illegal aliens.
We're not saying anything about people coming and going in the country. And the illegal alien issue is about greedy companies not the hopes of people for a better life.

Your statement is wrong in many ways. Let me show you just a few of the ways:

1) mexicans are not a race, so people that don't want illegals in the U.S. cannot be racists.

2) name calling is a violation of the T & C. Always amazes me how quickly some turn to name calling when they cannot logically back up their side of a debate.

3) the word should have been "You're" ( contraction for "you are") instead of "Your".

This whole illegal immigration issue is pretty black and white to me. You either broke the law, or you didn't. After all, we don't (usually) let U.S. criminals off just because they were poor and "needed" to be criminals because of it. You're asking to give illegals a break we don't even give our own citizens. But that's standard operating procedure for all those feeling extremely sorry for the illegals ...

I lived in Mexico for 5 years and yes it's true what you say. Also, Mexicans aren't only the type you see in the U.S.A there's also European/Mediterranean Mexicans or descendants (like me my mother comes from Arabic Roots and is Mexican).

Isn't this why we have LEGAL immigration, though? For people who want to travel to countries to be documented, and go wherever they wanna go?

I think it is sad that we have laws, that only some people need to abide by. In this case, it's just not worth being a natural-born citizen. OR all of the Mexicans and citizens from other countries to need to WAIT, and WAIT on the waiting lists to come over here legally. How is illegal immigration fair to those who have to go through the procedure of doing the same thing legally?

People that believe this way still harbor the old socialist/communist dream of a life where they don't really have to work and the government just gives them everything they need to be "happy". Manna from heaven - only to them the government is heaven.

No that's called being conformist and lazy. I have seen that in some of the Mexicans that I treated down in Mexico when I lived there. They were workers of the land of my family.

I had to go to the house of one and pick him up and tell him he needed to work because he didn't wake up. And he still had the nerve of telling me he still needed to eat breakfast....

I was PAYING him to do work not asking him for a favor....

Not all of the workers were like that though... there are some hard working individuals and those are the ones that actually get somewhere.
