The page you're linking to is the "reply" box in your thread.
It seems only you are having this issue mate?

I have no idea.

Unless you're just shamelessly plugging your thread?

No this is taking me away from shamelessly plugging my thread! I can't reply in my thread, to the people who have posted in it.

It's really bizarre.

I wish the Staff would help!

It is odd.... You are the only one having this issue.

We can all post on your thread.

Oh well, I'm sure It'll sort itself out man.

It's not sorting itself out though. And I really do need the staff to find out what's going on so I can post in the thread.

Thanks for trying to be of assistance.

Not being able to reproduce the problem, I wouldn't know where to start.

Have you tried simply logging out, then logging back in? Also, try clearing your browser's cache.

I logged out and logged back in. I have cleaned out my browser cache, restarted my computer, and even did a service update on my Sprint Wireless Modem.

It still keeps redirecting me everytime I try to post.

I will try the above again and see if it does any good.

Alright I seem to be on the trail of the problem now.

I signed off, restarted, updated, cleared etc. and posted and everything was fine.

But...then went to send out another U2U announcing the New Thread and went back to the thread and the problem started again.

So it appears to having something to do with using the U2U system and then trying to post.

If BlupBlup and LadiSkadi are still around and feeling helpful try sending me ro someone else a U2U and then try posting in the thread and see if you then have a problem.

In the meantime I am going to signout and restart all over again!

Perhaps you need to clean your bathtub, or something. Listen to the Universe.

Best of luck.

I did all that yesterday. Today was the day for a new ATS Thread, but...

No the bathtub is still sparkling, and the Universe still wants me to come home!

What browser and operating system are you using?

I am using Internet Explorer 8 and Windows Vista Home Deluxe.

I just duplicated the problem a second time.

It appears to be related to using the U2U feature and then attempting to post afterwards in one's own thread.

I can post in other threads like this one, just not my own thread.

I am going to expirement a step further, send out another U2U and see if it keeps me from posting in the thread again, and try posting in another one of my threads to see if it's just that one thread of mine, or all my threads.

Stay tuned.

Thanks for your help.

Alright I have narrowed it down further to the following things occuring.

Sending out a U2U to anyone and then posting in just that one thread results in getting this message:

Anonymous posting is not enabled for this forum, you will have to register to post in this forum.

Which is the heading for this page www.abovetopsecret.com...

Which only happens posting in this thread: www.abovetopsecret.com...

I am able to post into my other threads, even in the same General Conspiracy Forum, so it's a real wierd glitch related to the U2U's and this thread.

How do you go to "your" thread?

By avoiding SD's belief that we can't own even our own thoughts!

But I try to access it through My ATS and or the Recent Post Board.

Sitting down, while holding my breath!

I will give it a try and see if that makes a difference.

It redirects my reply to the same, you must register to post in this thread response page even if I access the thread through the Forum tab and then select the General Conspiracies Forum and then the actual thread.

So from what I am gathering, I am fine when I first sign on with a fresh cache until I access my U2U's and then attempt to post in that one specific thread at any point afterwards without signing back off, clearing my browser cache and signing back on.

Wierd huh?

This alone might make a good sequal to the thread!

For whatever reason, the board software is not able to "see" your cookie, which is set when you log-in. As this is not an issue encountered beyond your specific case, there must be some security settings on your computer that is hampering the site code from knowing who you are when you go to post.

Something like this has happened to me twice in the past week. I never logged out but when I came to ATS, it said I was. I logged in and everything worked fine when I clicked Recent Posts, but when I got to MyATS or try to respond to threads, it tells me I am not logged in.

Why though is it just occuring in that one thread? And why only after I have used the U2U Feature.

It really is quite strange. I can post to any of my other threads, and any other threads on ATS save that one, and only if I use the U2U feature once signing on.

I have never encountered this problem before. As long as I send no U2U's I can post fine to that thread.

I am tempted to author another thread, and send some U2U's and see if it does the same. It's very perplexing.
