It is SO garish and almost childish. Not an improvement at all. Extremely unprofessional. The underlines on Reply Edit etc, how are they supposed to work? They look as if they are hot keys but they don't work.

Where has the sidebar gone with the links to what is going on. That was about the most useful feature on the site.

My good lady stormed off to bed in disgust, and I can't say I blame her. She spends more time on ATS than me and I HATE this most recent change. Why is it that you have to take something that was easy on the eye and turn it into some sort of psychedelic artists palette?

Oh and do we have to go to the profile to make someone friend or foe now?

I would assume P is for posts
F is for flags
S is for stars
But what is the W for?

Peace, NRE.

I am also looking for that info...

W = what?

I'm sure I'll figure it out soon enough (or be schooled on it).

W = WATS = way above top secret.

I've no idea what that actually means, other than it's a mathematical equation derived from stars and flags.

4) The quote lines could just be colored and not have the words in them, making them thinner and less intrusive
The text is important, if it wasn't there people that do not know the meaning of a green or blue bar could not easily know the difference between a quoted post block and an off site content block.

Fair enough ArMaP, thank you.
Could you break down the "W" meaning?

ETA: With all these changes can we please include posters content after we hit reply, it makes it much easier to reference as we respond. Thx

These blue and green bars have helped me straight away as I didn't even know there were two different ways to quote text before this

I was just putting the tags in manually

What is the manual tag for external text?

I'm now upset that my W is 0 even though I don't know what it is

According to my Flags ... I have none, and this is not entirely accurate.

Also, my avatar background image has been cut off, and does not register.

Also, I am still not able to access the "CHAT^" function.

to summerize, my ATS issues are:
1 - No Flags

2 - Avatar background image cut off.
3 - No access to Chat

thanks,
ET

Hey your avatar looks good that way. It makes you look thinner.

Ok I noticed new changes but my text color within my avy isn't changing color. It's staying grey and the rest is the pink I chose before everything was pink (the color I chose). I also made the background black and it's still showing up white.

I found info about WATS, taken from the updates thread:

The "WATS Index" is calculated as: ((FLAGS x 5) x STARS)/1000000.
Flags definitely have more weight, but someone with lots of stars but solid flags can get into the list.

Could someone please explain RATS, and how it works? I thought we had to buy our way in once we had enough points
but there isn't a store anymore.

I've looked all over the place for info, and can't find anything current.

Heh. I can kinda see why they want to use those numbers, but by the properties of reduction, Ian McLean's formula posted above is also true... W=FLAGS * STARS / 200,000
The whole multiply by 5, divide by a million is redundant when you can just divide by 200k.

SkepticOverlord!

Loving these new changes today SO. Awesome mate! The little drop down menu under the avatar is a work of genius! I also thought I'd tell you that I love the 'Replies' feature in the messages section. It's nice to know that you have listened to our wish lists and given us exactly what we wanted!

Thanks again!

It's the WATS index.

See above for the calculations.

No Lord Bucket, it's not warnings, cause I don't have 153 warnings...

LordBucket.....

I can't see how "W" denotes "warnings".

That certainly doesn't match up for me.

Does anybody else know what the "W" denotes?

Kind regards
Maybe...maybe not

It's used to basically rank your contribution level.

If you look at the TOP 50 contributors it makes more sense.

It's an equation based on stars and flags divided by some number, there's an example above I believe.

G'day.....

Is any thought being given to showing with the flag info, etc.. the number of times a member has received "applause".

Is any thought being given to using "applause" towards some sort of calculation for "W", as per the stars & flags?

Kind regards
Maybe...maybe not
