Old-line Republican warns 'something's in the works' to trigger a police state

rawstory.com

Former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury under Reagan who has recently become known for his strong opposition to the Bush administration and the Iraq War: "Unless Congress immediately impeaches Bush and Cheney, a year from now the US could be a dictatorial police state at war with Iran."

"The administration is preparing us for another 9/11 event or series of events"

Americans need to comprehend and look at how ruthless Cheney is. ... A person that would do anything.

The choice is ours.

There are too many people ignorant of the facts, lies and deception. Beleiving that the world and life in general is a risy place to be and the good will of people will overcome any sort of evil.......well, this is just what sort of a "matrix" "THEY" want you to beleive life is.

If you Yanks do not start getting off your backsides and waking up the "sheeple" who are ignorant of the facts and evidence around us, then what you will receive you shall deserve for you stood by and watched as your constitution was used as toilet paper by BUSH and Cheney.

Yeah, we are aware, us here on ATS who are into these sorts of topics and the like. How many times have we, now be honest here, gotten into arguements with friends, work colleagues and the like when bringing up topics, like say the evidence surrounding 911 and other events?

Its because the ignorant are too afraid to open their eyes for they are scared of what the truth may be, so while ignorance may be bliss, blindness to the truth may destroy the way of life you Americans so adore.

The Great American Dream shall soon be your worst nightmare!

"waking" the people up is not as easy as it sounds. I have had arguments with friends, co-workers, etc about my views on this very topic. As well as 9-11, income tax, etc etc. The fact is a lot of people just don't "see" it. They do not believe there is a possibility that the US will become a police state. They simply do not believe it and it is beyond their comprehension and vision.

It is sad really. Most will not understand what is happening until it actually happens, and by then it will be way too late.

I have been saying since late last year that bush minor was going to provoke a costituitional crisis before the end of this year but does anyone listen? NNNOOOOO!!! What's happening? Confrontations with congress along a long front of constiuitional issues. His apologists claim if only the Democrats in Congress would leave him alone, that its all their fault; such arguements can be ignored for what they are, the rantings of simpletons; bush minor has consistantly pushed the bounderies. I miss nixon,

Grover, do you suppose anyone will listen to us>? I know you have been saying this, and i also- but we get "This couldnt happen here" type of stuff.

The time is NOW to beware, my friends- I beg you to finally WAKE UP. Forget the fact that you're a Republican and you have deep allegeance to that party. It doesnt matter.
See the truth for what it is.

The day Bush became president (talk about gut feelings) was a day when my body and my brain were traumatized for some paranormal reason.
I dont have these often, but i was very very sad for America and i DIDNT KNOW WHY.

Never mind my gut feelings, we're fast approaching The end as we know it- Liberty.

Please, please wake up.

the "something's in the works"

might have its basis in the recent National Intelligence Estimate,
the NIE report dtd 16 July 2007 & released on the dni.gov website
on 17 July~ at least the unclassified part~
can be found here: www.dni.gov...

basically:
AQ is estimated to be on a 3 year plan of increased political, economic, infrastructure high-profile targets, causing mass casualities...

Lebanese Hizbollah will begin attacking U.S. homeland

the spread of radical 'Salifi' internet sites, aiding in cells & non-Muslim
single-issue groups to coordinate attacks in homeland over the next 3 years

all this sounds scary......right?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
i came across a very good piece in response to the ?terror threats?
REALITY CHECK (List)
found here: www.opednews.com...
Terrorists hurt and kill people somewhere on earth everyday.
And killing Americans here is right at the top of their wish list.
But before we respond to that threat, we need to objectively assess just how serious it is.
just some 'grounding' that seems sensible to me,
the 'something's in the works' article by a former administration's elite...might be a practical caution or a propaganda tool,,,, your decision
thanks for listening....
The trouble with this is the fact that it simply is not in the best interests of either Hezbollah or Hamas to engage the United States.... Though it would be in Israel's.
The first step would be to fund a public TV channel, not some Al Bundy cable job. When the SHTF we use pirate transmitters like they had in th UK in the 70's to 80's. The gloss is coming off Western life.
People don't listen to you because your evidence is sadly lacking. It's at a level that wouldn't convince anyone, no matter how smart they are.
I then have to wonder why YOU were convinced so easily.
When you take into account that most conspiracy theorists started out as anti-government you get the answer.
But then it would be impossible to make YOU see that.
Belief is bias.
Funny you should say that, I remember watching W's first inauguration and saying to my family that this was the beginning of the end. I was calling it fascist from day one.
All the signs were there: the presidential limo/tank, the huge numbers of protesters behind security cordons under heavy riot police control, the seething discontent and heads being bashed and the unreality of pretending it was all just fine & dandy. The speech which was all just fine words he had no idea the meaning of, and wouldn't care if he did. All under leaden skies.
Well now the story's coming to the last chapter. I fear it's not a happy ending.
I think this beautiful phrase sums it up:
First they came for the Socialists, and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists,
and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak up for me.
Is interesting to see how many of the older generation of people can see very well what is going on in this nation and the time line of events that will bring a police state and a autocrat government.
Because we know what has transpired through the years and we have lived through many of the last decades events that has shaken our system of government and our constitutional rights.
Younger generations are a different culture numb by media propaganda, Hollywood pop starts, sex and modern drugs ranging on the prescription type, this has desensitize the younger minds to see the change.
We the so call liberals, anti patriots, anti American, crazy people has been warning about what is happening for years.
As you can see by the poster before me albie like any other totalitarian government that takes hold on any nation is always support for the government no matter what.
Sad but true, at least the people I talk too in my age range feel the same way I do and they are both Republicans and Democrats.
First off I am no conspiracy theorist, nor am I anti-government, just anti- government without constraints and am opposed to government by corporation... aka fascism.
Second: You have no idea what I see so don't try to read anything into my words that are not there because you will be wrong.
Third: The evidence is all over the place and has been for years and is evident to anyone should they take their blinders off to see it. The neo-cons and their hard right allies have made no attempt to hide their agenda which has been the establishment of a permanant Republican government, i.e the functional elimination of a working two party system... the anti-thesis to a democratic republic. Besides all that it doesn't take a Karnak the Magnificent to see with bush minor's presistant grabs for more and more power, assertions of ex. privilege etc. that it would eventually provoke a constituitional crisis... we have been down this primrose path before.
So while I may have my blind spots, I am not the blind one.
I knew on election night in 2000, when they announced that there was a "problem in Florida's vote count" that we were done for. I mean it doesn't take a genius to connect the dots: Jeb Bush was gov of Florida AND Bush's brother? How could anyone NOT see this?
It was further confirmed when the Supreme Court declared Bush the winner. This is completely against the Constitution and is not the correct process in such a situation. Again, how could anyone not see this for what it was, a bold, naked power grab and it was hostile to every American, because it breached our Constitution.
HOw could anyone expect Bush to uphold the Constitution, after he's done all of the above?
I love my country, its principles and the Constitution. I don't like our govt., BIG difference. Some people forget that. It's the true patriots who speak out against our govt when it becomes too power-hungry. The ignorant ones are the ones who stand on the sidelines, waving their little U.S. flags made in China, and badmouthing the people who say that the emperor has no clothes. They're too scared to see or admit the truth - that our govt has been sinking to new lows for a long time, not just a Dem or Repub issue any more, it's the whole govt. not doing their job.
Wake up, America, "your silence will not protect you." (Audre Lourde)
Sadly my friend the 'evidence' is out there for all to see and can be found strewn throughout this site. Sure, I don't believe all of the crap out there but there are simply too many actions done by this administration lately that have added to this mess.
You want evidence? How about Libby being commuted. How about the fact that D. (head) Cheney tried to pull some weird stunt in which he claimed his office was not part of the executive branch thus not subject to investigation by the dept. of Justice? What about the fact that Bush baby kept boasting about how 'if there is a leak in my administration I will take care of it' changing to 'he is a patriot and the sentence was too harsh' to 'I'll talk about Libby in detail in a week or two' to 'Libby is old news, let's move on.'
If you can't 'SEE' this then I'm afraid that you will be very surprised when you wake up in a camp somewhere with a chip embedded in your arm.
Grover et al... All is not lost. I believe that. It wasn't that long ago that if you posted anything critical of GWB on ATS (let alone mention anything to friends/family/coworkers) you would get instantaneously reamed for it. Now you can post that he's a child molester and the GWB defenders are much, much less vocal. People are beginning to see the light. It ain't much but it's all we've got. We can just let things roll along and see where it leads or we can start to do something. If we're going to go down for the love of God let's at least go down with a struggle.
Bush has play his political presidential privilege very well, he has sign all kind of bills, laws and added clauses to almost every bill he signs to hold it to his own interpretation giving him the right to go back and change it.
When all this bills, laws and clauses come into place you people will see how far his executive powers really extend.
The problem is that congress do not want to create a big mess during the time in our nation that Bush has taken us into a war and most of our troops are in foreign lands.
Also government has always been afraid of the actions of the people in the nation.
After all no government wants to see riots in the streets in Washington. So everything is keep quite at least as much as they can from public view, but the sign are there and our system of government is in jeopardy.
Im just worried that the next "911 event" could be a nuclear/biochemical bomb. If placed in unexpecting cities then the death toll would dwarf 911, or if a few atomic bombs were exploded high in the atmosphere then there would be massive continental electrical failure from e.m.p. I just don't know what to do other than research as much as possible so as to protect my family as best i can and be one of the ones who has the sense to know whats going on around him.
To anyone interested in keeping any of ur electrical items safe, research "Faraday boxes" u can make one cheap with household items.
It's difficult to impeach Bush when Pelosi, upon becoming speaker of the house, immediately takes impeachment proceedings "off the table".
America voted for a democratic congress to a) send a strong message to Bush, b) get us out of Iraq, c) look into impeachment proceedings and so far they have not done any of these things.
With a government like this... republican (corporate crooks), and democratic (sheep)... who the hell can you count on to straighten things out??
Leadership in this country, sadly, is a joke. Government looks after no one but themselves and their corporate interests. They could give two $h!ts about middle class Americans. If you think, like I once did, that the government works for you, the American public, you're sadly mistaken. It's all about fattening their own pockets no matter the consequences.
