Say that Bush and Cheney wanted to use WMD against an American city to further a "terrorist agenda" - how would they accomplish this? Wouldn't they need the cooperation of the CIA, FBI, and Military (or atleast segments within them) in order to acquire the materials and logistics need to do it?

Yes, that's usually how it's done. I don't think Bush or Cheney would actually physically carry the suitcase nuke on their person and then set it down in a Wendy's and leave.

You have to have cooperation, at least to some degree, to carry out operations like that, as well as to have plausible deniability.

I like the idea of Patriot's Day. Maybe we should just hold mini Ron Paul rallies? Remember not to put any anti-war protests into action lest you be thrown in jail and your assets taken.

I personally think the key to helping people is to turn one person at a time. You can't get everyone to jump to their senses, but you can tell one person at a time. If you "wake up" one person out of 10, then they will turn someone, also.

You mean you want to turn the truth movement into an Amway pyramid scheme?

I like it!

A Former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury under Reagan states this? This shows MASSIVE credibility for what is about to occur. Props for finding this, OP.

Here is the actual Executive Order

www.whitehouse.gov...

It freezes the assets (in the US or any US territory) of any person who perpetrates violence or knowingly assists in the perpetration of violence aimed at further destabiliziung and/or slowing the democratization of Iraq.

All you need to do is read it to find out what its about, before trying to whip people up into a frenzy.

There are a couple of thing I would like to note about this thread.

First, while just about everyone has railed on about this massive conspiracy I have not seen one constructive idea on how to deal with the problem....That is unless you are excited about the Amway plan.

While I think that there may possibly be some merit to these concerns I am more inclined to believe the explaination is much simpler. I think that while our country is going through, what might be the most trying period in our history, we have been forced to to so with what may be the most inept president we have ever had to endure.

With Bush's popularity ratings I find it hard to believe that Americans would ever let him get away with what you see as his Corination plans.

If I am proven wrong I promise you I am prepared to deal with it and it won't be with an "Amway Pyramid" scheme. I am confident millions of other Americans feel the same way I do.

Bottom line is I am willing to sit back a while and see how things play out before I panic.

[edit on 20/7/07 by forestlady]

Wow, way to pass condemnation on circumstantial evidence. I have to say that the most close minded hate filled people I know personally are all leftists.

Every major dictatorship of the last century were leftist.

Every debate I have with leftists tends to, at some point, devolve into the argument that I am stupid/facists/sheeple/ignorant for not seeing their way, yet I don't feel that way about them.

Leftist ideals tend to be isolationist and selfish - don't believe me? How can you make an argument that a few thousand American lives are not worth hundreds of thousands or millions of Iraqis and their neighbors?

This article just goes back to that idea that anyone who doesn't believe as I do is evil and must be branded in the most harsh terms available.

If (when) Bush hands over the presidency to the next duly elected president will you people stop you madness? I doubt it and that is what makes me so sad.

When you look at the evidence "leftist" dictatorships are left in name only; their actual policies and ideals are informed from the hard right. Kind of like soviet puppet states calling themselves democratic republics, as is anyone actually believed them.

Exactly, MA!!!

The left is out to destroy America and institute their socialist agenda and anyone that does not see that is truly blind and sheeple.

The not so subtle reason behind these ridiculous "tin hat" conspiracies is to frighten the less informed people and create some level of trust in the socialists that otherwise would not exist.

The left reacts and understands only emotion, facts and the truth make then nauseous and confused.

Look at the scare tactics they used when the privatization of social security was brought up. Not one shred of evidence was used, instead they posted ad after ad of "scare the senior" commercials and finally stopped the one thing that would have guaranteed to continuation of a real social security.

Now another Bush Basher comes forward with another DIRE warning and look who jumps on the band wagon... LOL.... The socialist lefties... Do you think he is out there now with his, "The END is NEAR" placard? If so, there are plenty of people to help him carry it obviously. LMAO

What a surprise...

scare tactics? Hmmm.... the threat of a nuclear cloud...what color is the terrorism threat today? As i was going through O'Hare this week it was orange... WMD... Oh semper the list of scare tactics goes on ad nausum and who was playing each and every one of them? Not the libreals, the administration, thats who.

We should be afraid of the people that have already killed 3000 of us..

That is a no brainer...

Of course the socialist agenda is to convince the people to be afraid of the very things that made this country great. Capitalism, Independence and Self Reliance..

Fighting the evil overseas that is spreading faster than ever is also a no brainer, but of course it is much more politically correct to come up with some fantasy that has no basis in fact whatsoever but does further the socialist agenda...

Not to be insulting or anything, but thats a pretty bold statement. I'm sure this has been asked before, but can you provide proof that your a certified genius? Thanks

Of all of the things I wrote about on this thread, this is the thing you seize upon? I just think it's funny, that's all.
I knew I shouldn't have said that.
What would you call proof?
I have taken two different IQ tests, one as a chld, one as an adult and
I tested somewhere in the 160's or so.
I don't have the test papers to post online, is this close enough?
I was trying to make the point with Albie about stupid people and Grover., is the only reason I posted that.
Maybe I should have written "certifiable genius"?
That probably fits me better.

Gee Grover, looks like the Republicans have found us out!
I of course never use facts to make my decision, I only react
emotionally and I have a secret agenda to make the U.S. socialist. Right.

AM, Talk about close-minded, you really believe that all "leftists" have this agenda?

Semper, nice, you were able to use an ad hominem attack on an entire group of people. How come you always come up with the same rhetoric of "lefttists don't use their brains, just emotions, etc.?" Why can't you ever use actual facts in your political posts? All you do any more is just bash the left, without providing any evidence, facts or even logic. Hmm, who's the emotional one?
I have to tell you I'm finding it offensive. How can you label all leftists as nitwits? Ever think that maybe one of us might have some brains or reasoning?
You know, I used to respect your intelligence. Now I see you simply mouthing the tired old propaganda that you've been taught to believe by the MSM. Get off it, Semper, just because I have different political beliefs from you, it doesn't make me stupid.
Now back to the topic: If the Bush admin didn't have martial law on the mind, they wouldn't have passed a bill making Bush a dictator for as long as he wants. Cheney is running the show and he's a very scary man, IMO. Nor is he a very nice one and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if martial law was declared. Just about every law this admin has passed, brings us one step closer to a police state and chips away at the Constitution.
Our present govt is in it solely for themselves, and they don't care about the American people.

The Bush admin passed this law? I thought that passing laws was the responsibilty of the legislative branch. You know, the HR and the Senate.

What is that law number, by the way? I'd like to look it up.

Cheney is running the show and he's a very scary man, IMO.

So Cheney scares you? Boo!

Nor is he a very nice one and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if martial law was declared.

See, this is what I mean. "I wouldn't be a bit surprised if martial law was declared." No facts. No data. Just an opinion based upon emotion, in this case, fear. But it does tend to stir up those like-minded individuals into a frenzy, doesn't it?

Boo!

If you Yanks do not start getting off your backsides and waking up the "sheeple" who are ignorant of the facts and evidence around us, then what you will receive you shall deserve for you stood by and watched as your constitution was used as toilet paper by BUSH and Cheney.

Yeah, we are aware, us here on ATS who are into these sorts of topics and the like. How many times have we, now be honest here, gotten into arguements with friends, work colleagues and the like when bringing up topics, like say the evidence surrounding 911 and other events?

Its because the ignorant are too afraid to open their eyes for they are scared of what the truth may be, so while ignorance may be bliss, blindness to the truth may destroy the way of life you Americans so adore.

The Great American Dream shall soon be your worst nightmare!

Trust me I've tried to explain to friends and relatives about the problems we face in the future (or at least a possible future) as well as my 9/11 views, and even those that believe me (though few do) just simply ask: What can we do about it? then shrug and walk away.
