I'm actually close to cracking the color code (or at least most of it)

How long will it take you?

We've waited more than half an hour now. Is it the 'Lie group E8' math your applying?

Can't wait another 120 years

Well, someone with 0 Applause and 0 Flagged times doesn't have a post bar... I.e. applauses do play a role in the new post bar...

Edit:
Although member c3hamby has one applause but no post bar...?

Edit:
But then again member Navieko doesn't have an applause but he has a post bar?

I've like 5/6ths figured it out, but this last 1/6th is proving to be a bit of a puzzle.

When the title screen says, ''Push Start Button'', press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Select, Start.

This is about as sovlabe as the Black Labyrinth.

It's all very simple..........

Just narrow and extend the last figure, change the colour, and you have the answer.

I wish Skeptic would say boo, this is killing me.

Well, I don't know if there's more I can figure out (if there's anything to figure out)...so do you want me tell you what I have?

Er, yes, it would be useful, I don't have a clue whats going on with this.

Although I would put money (or ATS points) on BH being among the first to break it if it has anything to do with applauses.

Ok, here's what I have:

The red component of the color (the first byte in the hex color code) is determined by applauses. The value is the number of applauses you have + 50, with an apparent minimum value of 52 (values in decimal).

The blue component (the last byte in the hex color code) is easy, 0 for non-staff 128 for staff (decimal).

Now the green component (middle byte) has been giving me trouble. It's definitely related to number of posts (like the length) and seems to range from 50 - 250, increasing with number of posts up to 10,000 (again like the length). The exact way the figure is calculated though escapes me, it looks like it's either a sliding scale or just predefined ranges without an equation behind it, I'm not sure.

As far as people who don't have bars, I think it's just that the system hasn't calculated them yet for some reasons, although there's a possibility that too many applauses or posts could "break" it, but I'm not sure about that.

OK....there you go.

Err... *** Insert very confused looking smily here *** I'm not sure what "byte" you're looking at? Is there some way you can see the Hex value of the colour, because from this side of the screen it would be quite complex to get a hex value for each postbar colour...

Yout have to look at the page source. Your bar is now color #714b00.

RED:

0x71 = 113
You have 63 applauses, 50 + 63 = 113

GREEN:
0x4b = 75
Not sure what it means, but is related to the number of posts you've made

BLUE:

0x00 = 0; You're not a staff member

Mine is #83ef00

RED:

0x83 = 131
I have 81 appaluses, 50 + 81 = 131

GREEN:

0xef = 239
Again not sure what it means, but it's more than you

BLUE:

0x00 = 0
I'm not staff either

*** Slaps forehead *** Duh! Not that "top secret" as I thought... (Obviously a "slow" day for Mr Gemwolf...
) Well, good work! Makes sense to me... Although I'm sure there will have to be a "faster" way to understand someone's post bar? We can't all sit with our Hex calculators while we're reading posts?

Edit: Clarity

no, if you want exact figures, look at the extended profile.

After getting used the new color scheme, our brains should get some idea of the poster's record though just by glancing at the color of the bar.

Yep, since you're a mod. Yours is #548780

meaning you've got 34 applauses (red), a post rank of 135 (green) and you're a staff member (blue).

If you weren't a mod you'd be this color:

Guess I'll hafta work on the Christmas colors a bit, as I can't do much about the blues.

Quite the deductive resources there, Dj.
