I highly doubt that is true when you do a search you only get

452 hits for keywords Ignignokt and Er.
And you get
10,500 for Ignignokt and Err.

The numbers are not there to back up your claim. The names are not knwon or popular on the internet and that includes the hits created by yesterdays news not to mention all the duplicates.

I have no idea what this post is supposed to mean. Are you saying that because google doesn't get a crapload of hits off the name that they aren't known?

But you get 1,580,000 hits when you search for aqua teen hunger force. Is tat a good enough number?

If these things were truly up without being noticed for weeks, I bet it will come out that someone associated with the ad campaign called in these reports to get attention but they got more than they bargained for. We still don't know the full story.

Serious charges are going to have to fly, since even if they have to pay a few million dollars, that's still cheap for the publicity it's generated. And you know they say there's no such thing as bad publicity. Unless companies are taken out of business and or executives jailed, such guerilla marketing tactics will continue and cause even more mayhem.

Utterly and completely ridiculous! Two men were arrested on charges that they did it intentionally to make it seem like it was a bomb.

What's utterly and completely ridiculous is that TBS hired a couple of losers to place suspicious packages around a city.

Reading through this thread and wondered.... you know if I were a terrist and reading this.......hmmm they got 6-10 "devices out and if I make it look like a dumb cartoon.... just a thought.

First, welcome.

Second, this is a valid point. If I were a terrorist right now, I'd be making some make shift lite-brite actual bombs. Who's going to think they are bombs now?

Edit: Now I'm probably on a terrorist list somewhere for saying this.

That may well be true but what I did in addition was send a picture of the led alleged boards with the characters to my neighbor who is a principal of a midedle school and asked him to ask two clases if they could identify the character. He surveyed two classes 47 students by written ballot and only one knew the character. (I am not positive if he did this personaly but if he did not the teachers of the classes did it for him)

What is the "more important" story?

It is only speculation, but while everyone is reading about this, the White House is facing some pretty serious charges from the scientific community. There are alleged government cover ups of critical scientific information, mean while everyone is panicking over the boogyman again.
We have the world at our fingerprints now. When the front page is covered with junk like this do a news search on those with power (and money) and you will likely find the real news.

First, there is no proof that the White House did anything to either plant those devices or encourage media coverage of them.

Second, this story is getting a lot of play in Boston, but not so much everywhere else. I cannot imagine that it is on the forefront of people's minds today beyond the water cooler.

So it's now legal for a corporation to hang a billboard wherever it want to? If you had hung a circuit board with wires sticking out of it on a bridge, you'd definitely be on your way to jail. Yet you are defending the right of a major corporation to do it?

Arguing with people on this site is so pointless, but here we go:

1) Get the corporation term outta here, this isn't some rediculous "NWO" discussion. The two guys that were hung them were as close to me and you as possible. One is a Belarusian here seeking asylum in a free country, and the other is a 25 yr old guy.

2) There's no charge to take them to jail. For all the 'research' done on here, I'm still waiting to hear the charge. The judge told the prosecutor today that the charge they want to file will NOT hold up.

How dare you all be taken in by the same propaganda BS that you claim to fight so hard against. You're acting like the very sheep that you disdain so much. Boston is pissed that they over-reacted and now they're playing the terrorism card because that's the ultimate last resort now.

I suppose if I drop my Voltron night light on the street tonight I should be liable for the same charges if some idiot sees it and thinks it's a bomb.

Oh! St Patricks is coming up soon, what about all those red blinking "Kiss me I'm Irish" lights that people love to wear? Lots of that in Boston, I suspect the entire city will be shut down then too...

Ummm... have you ever watched the show? It comes on late at night and is not what you would call... middle school material... it's on a block called "Adult Swim", in Chicago, it comes on 11pm.

Shots,
That's one hell of an accomplishment in 2 hours. I'm not saying I don't believe you, but it's a little hard to swallow. However, benefit of the doubt, what did he ask? Did only one kid know the name of the charecter? Could other identify where they were from?

Man nice to know you can bring a major city to a halt without the use of bombs, guns or chemical weapons. All you need is a Lite-Brite and some pathetic paranoia.

Seems you can already buy these things on eBAY

Already seem to be going for a pretty pennymoon sign

The MAKE BLOG which has done projects akin to this before LED throwies and such (which is really all these things are) has several detailed picks of the device.

First, duh
and reread my post.
I never said the White House planted anything. Also what I had to say was only speculation, I even stated that.
What is the need to jump to defend the White House against speculation over something I didn't even imply?
What I am implying is that the mainstream news media is burying important story's by bumping junk like this to the front page.
But like I said it is speculation, so calling out "no proof" is moot.

Second, this story is getting a lot of play in Boston, but not so much everywhere else. I cannot imagine that it is on the forefront of people's minds today beyond the water cooler.

Really? I'm almost 2500 miles from Boston and I can't get away from this story. It was the headlining on CNN.com and other MSM news sites.
Meanwhile you don't even know what the story is that I'm saying is being buried.
See how successful they are?

I don't see how this could be mistaken for a bomb. Does anyone else have an image that looks like a bomb?

This is a recreation of the type of bomb device used to bring down the 747 Pan Am flight 103:

I'm not surprised at all that such a device would look to security officials like it could be a bomb.

It has wires and blinks. Mainstream America is dumb as nails. I can see how people could confuse it as suspicious. But, the bomb specialists who had to blow up the first couple should have know that it wasn't a bomb at first glance. I'm sure glad they are protecting us.

Ya know, I'm not so sure it's 'mainstream' america... I mean, these things have been up for weeks. Seattle residents saw them, NY residents saw them, even people in Boston saw them over a week ago. All it really took was one phone call, and an overly excited media core.

Make no mistake, I think it was a poor choice, but I also think that it's been blown WAY outta proportion at this point.

So these advertisers are facing five years in prison because of the stupidity of our fine people at Homeland Security?

Seems pretty rediculous to me.

And the "Boom" box looks like a bomb. even if the outside of it was sealed up and it was properly disguised, it could still have the explosives inside of it. On these things there is no inside. There's not eve a battery cover.

you geezers have to remember that the blokes in guato bay, are there and many have not done anything, while these strike terror and fear into a city and they should get away with it, why.

a person who terrorizes or frightens others. this is what dictionary.com says the definition of terrorist is.

how can anyone be so stupid to do this in a post 911 world, let alone usa.

there are plenty in prison who have done nothing wrong at all, while these clowns think that becasue of whatever reason, they have the right to do this to a city.

come on look at it from the stand point of the innocent in guato bay, many of those may not have done nothing at all, and if you showed them what these clowns did, what would there reaction be.

for all those that look at this as a joke, look at it if you were locked in in jail and have not done anything wrong(like many are), then see how you see this.

You are targeting the wrong demographic.

ATHF is targeted at men ages 20 - 28.

I've watched the show for years, so have all of my friends.

I bet most of you couldn't name all of the south park characters either.

Boston was owned by lite brights, fact. No other city freaked out.

This is like a scene from a bad movie, really.
