Following up on this thread...
www.abovetopsecret.com...
...which showed a massive list of all thread titles and links since the beginning of our current database, I thought it was a good idea to have another look at this:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Many months ago, we ran this output regularly. But many of our newer members have never seen this.

An interesting history lesson.

There was a little election going on in the US in November.

Also, this is interesting:

That "big spike" for October 2003 is now slightly less than one week's worth of traffic for us.

Well... that was before "the Overlord" was watching over the inner workings of machinery that is ATS...
There was a brief issue with renewal of a lapsed domain name... and odd rumors of Simon's death.

Those were strange times.

ATS was down, and Simon was away at a university for some weeks. So he wasn't online to get the website back up and running.

Yeah, I remember that. That ex-moderator who spreaded out that lie of Simon's death also used to delete my posts.

SO...Being a statistics geek myself....I have to ask

Are you using SPSS, Access, or some other form of data management? And as far as the graphs....Are those produced with Xcelsius?!

You have such...large...and...and...beautiful....charts!

The big "daily posts" graph is simply the result of an SQL query and some colors. The other charts are just done in Excel, but important into Photoshop as a PDF for visual tweakage.

Wow when did ATS start? Was it 2002? It's amazing how the amout of posts daily has increased so much. Well done ATS I say, and well done to all the admin and posters who did it

I always overlook the obvious
I like the "tweakage" though....Very crisp and clean....

I'll have to experiment with that myself here at work.....SPSS spits out some of the most ugly charts on the face of this Earth - I wonder if they'll import into photoshop too....hmmmm.......

I've seen it before, and it still leaves me in awe.

ATS should petition to have more big US elections to keep posts around 4,000 consistantly. Besides, then there would be a lot more conspiracies, too, especially when the majority of ATSer's choice candidate loses

No kidding on the SPSS charts (I hate that thing, too, but it's useful.) As I recall, there's a way to import it into Excel... but I last did it 2 years ago and it was for only one product. I could have just typed the data in... don't remember.

Hehe....Yeah - There's a way to move it to Excel, but it sure is messy
