F that, Canadians can't even get regular health care right now, no doctors, not enough nurses, extremely long waits in emergency.

Canadian taxpayers are not paying for anything other than genital and other types of hair removal as a pre-surgical medical necessity or as deemed a necessary medical procedure. The OPs article is just the opinion of two doctors and nothing may come of it.

Don't try to justify the attempts made to pass the bill to Canadians to 'treat' the delusions of some people who want to be other gender.

Your apologetic statement this may not happen is not even correct as it happens already in parts of Canada

Public funding for such procedures, which are currently funded in only two jurisdictions in Canada, warrants serious consideration in all provinces and territories,' the authors concluded.

They want to make it publicly funded in the entire Canada.

They better not, last month a woman gave birth in the hallway they put her in, was there for 72hrs.

This crap is happening every day. www.ctvnews.ca...

Amazing...taxpayers paying for sex changes while cancer patients are destitute due to medical expenses.

Maybe not in Canada with ....

www.canada.ca...

Respectfully, you don't know wtf you're talking about, good luck getting timely treatment here, yes, you don't get a bill, but the disease progresses to to point of no return by the time you get in. This is becoming a huge problem since covid. Where I live, the situation is so hopeless, they have just started sending patients to Washington state..ironic.

Yup, the military considers it a necessity, obviously.

For a US transgender population of ~1.6% ??

That's not necessity, that's sabotage.

Well, they consider it a necessity for fewer than 10 soldiers, it appears.

Transgender people are significantly more likely to serve in the US military than the general US population.[176][177] According to 2014 estimates from the Williams Institute on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Law and Public Policy, despite the ban on military service, about 21.4% of the total transgender population in the US is estimated to have served in the military. In May 2014, an estimated 15,500 transgender individuals served on active duty or in the Guard or Reserve forces.[22]

About 32% of transgender individuals in the US who are assigned male at birth serve or have served in the military, compared to 5.5% for transgender individuals who are assigned female at birth.[22] According to the 2014 study, "[t]he American military employs more transgender people than any other organisation in the world: around 15,500...more than 6,000 of whom are on active duty."[178]

A 2016 workplace and gender relations survey found 9,000 US military service members consider themselves transgender individuals.[179] In 2019, the United States Department of Defense states that 1,400 service members have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria and fewer than 10 service members were receiving gender reassignment surgery.

en.wikipedia.org...

You may see 15,500 and think, that's a lot of service members that need sexual affirmative care.

However, if you read the Wikipedia, (of all things), it states, "According to the 2014 study, "[t]he American military employs more transgender people than any other organisation in the world: around 15,500...more than 6,000 of whom are on active duty."

The American military is probably one of the largest contracting apparatuses in the US, maybe the world. Are those "employees" eligible for taxpayer funded augmented realities while they work around some of the most sensitive programs in our government? Are they being counted in that number? Before the military went bat snip crazy, they would weed you out for such psychological issues.

When did the entire military structure flip to allow mental illness to be waivered? Nevermind the military, what about the country??

That is the million dollar question, how many have gender dysphoria or other mental health conditions... a very small percentage that I've read and I do believe they are indeed weeded out.

Since when having gender dysphoria or any other mental health issues you become a 'transgender'?? You see where the problem is??

You're still the same person as before but with the mental health issue fully acknowledged. You never become transgender or change your sex.

Nevermind the numbers, why is mental illness being allowed in our military or to flourish in our society???

Is it safe to have mentally compromised individuals making command decisions? I thought that was a BIG NO-NO.

oh well I suppose...

Plenty. Not so many with gender dysphoria, however.

Not enough to justify "make-up camp", but enough to demoralize an entire force it seems. Recruitment has absolutely tanked. Gee, I wonder why...🙄smh...

But in the end we will have a very understanding military, so I guess it's worth it, no?

Did you know they are planning to change the term 'gender dysphoria' to 'gender incongruence' in the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) - they seem to not be able to get it right.

I pay enough in taxes and can't even get roads worthy of being driven on.... I have no issue with the socialised healthcare here in Canada, I mean it sucks but you get what you pay for. But how about we save taxpayers money.... instead of paying for transitioning, we push them towards our great euthanasia plan and save about 4 steps. Most of the unalive themselves eventually anyway....:dunno:

The whole government in Canada is psychotic, sociopathic and narcissitic, it's all gone off the rails, Corruption a la mode. It's actually explainable. After 10 or 12 generations of saving people with genetic mutations that should have never lived to reproduce in the first place, we have the mess we have now. It's called dysgenic reproduction. So if you want to learn about why it's nuts in Canada and pretty much everywhere, Edward Dutton wrote a book called Spiteful Mutants, explaining all this woke garbage and the intentional destruction of society. These clowns in Canada are just one part of it, the wokeness disease has infected so many worldwide it's crazy. Anyway, book is here...

Spiteful Mutants

We shouldn't be paying, meaning taxpayers, to fund the mental illness and delusions of others. Get them mental help, I remember when they used to put the nuts in Queen street west, or North York General on the 10th floor, or Whitby Psych. Now the inmates are running the asylum from Ottawaski.

the anglosphere has gone wibble... the coming crash will realign much back to reality..

in a lot of ways we repeating the push to sterilise the defectives and euthanise others political liberal eugenicists tried for in the 1920s and 30s.. sadly canada, aus and new zealand are leading this in terms of accepting this kind of thinking while large slices of the US and England are pushing back..

while the progressives are exporting these culture wars they are also importing the counter movements from the right in the usa and from the left in the uk so its not all doom and gloom..

Canada has not accepted any thinking that those two doctors propose...it's just the opinion of two doctors and it may go nowhere unless somewhere down the line the procedures are considered medically necessary for the well being and advancement of overcoming depression. Canada's healthcare system is a tight-fisted miser, so for any psychiatric treatment to be covered that person seeking help would have to jump through many hoops, as well as seeing their doctor, a psychiatrist (not psychologist or counsellor), so multiple medical professionals would have to deem any course of treatment as medically necessary. Not an easy road.

You seem to be missing the point. Not many want the recommendation to become a reality because it's already a reality in parts of Canada>

Public funding for such procedures, which are currently funded in only two jurisdictions in Canada, warrants serious consideration in all provinces and territories,' the authors concluded.

The 'affirmative care' shouldn't be funded at all in any parts of Canada by the taxpayers.
