Those are not flames. The missile tested was a Hwasong-17. It is a liquid fueled rocket using some combination of Hydrazine and Nitrogen Tetroxide as the propellants. Those propellants are commonly used because they are considered storable. That's important for an ICBM because the missile can be kept fueled up and ready to launch on short notice. This is the same technology the US used in the early Titan II ICBMs in the 1960s. When those two propellants burn, they produce large clouds of smoke containing Nitrogen Dioxide which is that reddish orange color. This is the normal appearance for a missile launch using those propellants.

Still no video of the incident, the pictures are not the same rocket as the cartoon rocket, and they are old pictures not related.

What's your point? The White House is in cahoots with North Korea to claim a missile was launched and there wasn't actually one launched?

The Hwasong-17 missile has a solid propellant upper stage with a MIRV warhead. The weight at launch is 100 metric tonnes making it the largest ICBM in the world. the liquid first stage has RD250 engines supplied by KB Yuzhnoye in Ukraine. Ukraine also taught NK how to manufacture solid propellant rockets in 2016, when they sent five engineers to DPRK.

North Korea has enough missiles and warheads now to take out every US city with a population over 500,000, which means every state capital and then some.

An estimated 200 1.5mt nuclear warheads based on centrifuges witnessed by IAEA inspector Seigfreid Hecker in 2010.
