BREAKING: Explosion/fireball - Jebel Ali port, Dubai, UAE

So another explosions involving Gas/Oil

Come on?

What’s going on out there? surely too much of a coincidence now?

This port is just opposite the Palm Jabel Ali, you know that very large man made island 🏝 in the shape of a palm tree, looks like a rather large gas/oil depot

Looks like it's a container ship on fire, not a tanker

www.msn.com...

An explosion sent shockwaves across the commercial hub of the United Arab Emirates late Wednesdays, when a container ship anchored at Dubai's huge port caught fire, according to the emirate's media office.

What's the difference between a tanker and a container ship?

I might be wrong but a tanker is like an oil tanker, a container ship is one of those with hundreds of those shipping containers on them, full of different merchandise etc.

The Evergiven was a container ship, the Exxon Valdez is a tanker.....

A tanker is licensed to carry stuff that breaks windows 10 miles away when it goes BOOM. A container ship probably not so much.

***Edit***
putnum6's post pretty much the same.

So far no real update, though they are saying it was a combustible materials ontainer that exploded.
The link states that they would not elaborate on the flammable material.

www.timesofisrael.com...

The sheer force and visibility of the explosion suggested the presence of a highly combustible substance. A Dubai authorities told the Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya TV that the crew had evacuated in time and that the fire appeared to have started in one of the containers holding β€œflammable material,” without elaborating.

Noted this too:

There were no immediate reports of casualties at the port, which is also the busiest port of call for American warships outside the US.

Lot's of booms as of late.πŸ€”

We need to be careful even though there is some funky chit going down, sometimes accidents just happen. 2 years ago this is a blip on the radar, now though every accident we are always looking for that conspiracy angle.

Ports are gonna have accidents and the petroleum industry is gonna have them too.
