Breaking up a peaceful protest.

How exactly do you classify a protest where police are being attacked - literally bombarded by bottles and all kinds of crap - as 'peaceful'. Might want to invest in a dictionary.

Like you missed the part when the police for no apparent reason just rushed protesters and started chemically attacking them.

Like you missed the part where that actually didn't happen.

Like, you missed the part where the very same people who were screaming how not being able to pack a few 100 people into a church on easter sunday because of a pandemic are now defending to govt when they chase priests and clergy off the steps of their own church with teargas (or peppergas) so trump can have his photo op..

Or....
First we see mobs of people, many carrying guns on the streets, converging on state capitols, forcing their way into the balconies of state houses, up inches away from cops faces screaming at them...
But one 75 year old man walks up to a cop and he ends up in critical condition in the hospital...

Double standards much??

They took possession of a church, albeit briefly, for a trump photo op!@ what's next, they gonna forcibly clear out a congregation during a Wednesday night prayer service so he can make a political speech?

And yet no one was hurt, and no property was destroyed... interesting, the differences, right?

But one 75 year old man walks up to a cop and he ends up in critical condition in the hospital...

I saw that, that was wrong, and those cops should be prosecuted.

Double standards much??

Not here.

Go cry somewhere else, no one cares.

And, those "protestors" that were violent or destructive should be prosecuted. But, most of that violence and destructive behavior occurred after dark...
Thus the idea of the curfews...
The curfew hadn't gone into effect yet when they decided to clear the streets for trump. And, from what I have seen, the protesters were being peaceful. And I assume the priests and clergy at the church were.
But, as you say, no one cares, right. If the president finds himself wanting to use a piece of property, weather owned by an individual, a company, or a church denomination..
He should be able to use whatever force he deems necessary to get the place vacated for his use...
He should be able to ignore any and all rules the owners have established also. Like those pesky mandates requiring a mask..

Why dont yous just crown him with a paper crown and declare him the Burger King already!!

Imagine the political capital Trump would have gained if he had taken the opportunity to address the crowd's grievances with empathy and compassion, instead!

Apparently you missed the part where they made 3 lawful announcements to clear the area and refused to clear the area.

Pepper-balls to the face are a more effective teaching method, kind of like a dog shock collar.

I know some feelings are going to be hurt. I know some are going to point out the removal of protesters...blah, blah, blah. But the simple truth is these are both the same photo taken for exactly the same reasons.

Umm... were those around the church able to hear those announcements?? Or was it just those in the park??

The difference is, those Democrats didn't just bulldoze and gas a bunch of peaceful protesters and clergy to get that photo op, of them emulating Colin Kaepernick and taking a knee.

Not really. I think you ignored it and told us to do the same, in considering your comparison.

People aren't criticizing Trump for wanting a photo op, they're criticizing the motivation, the method and the subject matter.

The police advancing on horses would have been the second clue.

Well, here is the thing..
Since the church was trumps final destination, they most assuredly wanted the church property cleared out also.
And, they most assuredly made an effort to clear out that church property since the reverend mentions them pushing people off the church patio.
And, at the time, the church property was being used by the church priests and clergy.
No one from the minister of that church on up to the bishop of the church diocese had any advanced warning that trump would be showing up and they expected the property to be vacated.
Wtf was this? A spur of the moment decision by trump that he wanted to take a nice walk through the park and to the church to take a few pictures for his scrapbook? And, the secret service just said yes sir, right away sir!! That mob of people between you and the church ain't the least bit a problem. Some pepper spray and rubber bullets. A few hundred or so police can take care of them along with any rift raft that might be at the church!!
They couldnt even take the time to call the church and alert them of their plans??
I have to say... that's one heck of a lousy job at protecting the president!!
