Well if this man made climate crisis is a real thing i would think a "natural" solution to this is to stop doing what we are doing.

Meaning do not go to work tomorrow, maybe not even to the store, wait until you run out of supplies and start looting apocalypse style, if we all stop enabling them the population would balance out within a year or so.

It's nothing new, Sir David Attenborough has been banging on about this for years. And he's right.

The problem is improvements in health care have improved life expectancy, so that the elderly population is growing at an alarming rate.

They rely on younger people in work to support them, but their numbers are dwindling. Hence, mass migration from the third world.

Instead, once you hit 85 take a pill and make room for a baby.

How long do you want to hang around already?

Fewer people, the end to mass migration, a manageable climate.

The ozone layer was repaired because chlorofluorocarbons were banned by public policy.

Burning so much gasoline everyday has consequences. There no reason to get all emotional about it.

We should be doing what China is doing at that is spend billions of dollars on exotic alternative energy technologies capable of replacing the use of all fossil fuels.

China spends billions on technology to replace using fossil fuels

China is going to save the World from death by carbon pollution. And in doing so they will become the preeminent super-power in the World because the people and the government will have the least amount of debt.

Think of this like the space race but it's a race to prosperity and cleaner air.

Have you ever been to China. I can tell you from experience that is not what is going on in China. The smog is so awful they sometimes shutdown the factories if a national summit or event is held in China to clear the air. They will shut it all down for a couple of weeks. And don't even think about eating in town. No regulations. US companies that go there for business only eat at a handful of places. Anywhere else shaking hands with danger.

There are also massive pockets, 10's of millions of people who do not speak Mandarin (Chinese). They can't even speak to large areas of their own people. Place is a mess.

So you think the largest polluter on the planet is going to save us? China is producing more pollutants than Europe and the America's combined.

One day.... Just you wait.... One day someone will come up with the most valid argument to the masses that a portion of the human population needs to be wiped out to continue life and the powers that be will accept it and do it without warning.

One day.... They'll just do it.

I like George Carlin's take on this topic. The planet doesn't need saving. "The planet isn't going anywhere, WE ARE."

I do think the biggest pollution problem comes from industry and energy corporations along with our transportation system.

The desire for profit drives a lot of the corner cutting that otherwise would reduce pollution significantly.

My theory of the ecosystem is that "global warming(climate change)" is a misdirection devised by tptb to limit we the people's environmental regulatory powers. The real problem is pollution in general and the worst offenders are the biggest profiteers. Our large cities are cesspools in most cases.

There are about 40 million people in the whole world that are millionaires. I'm sure they would all be included in the 500 million population.

It's hard to find the numbers but I would guess that the 500 million would be upper class and above. No room for middle class or lower.

Has anyone but me noticed that the pop control people generally have families and climate control folks live in large energy eating homes like Al Gore. If these folks were serious they would off themselves to reduce the population but no they want you to off yourselves for the planet. If they were serious about climate change they would not be flying around in private jets. The whole movement is full of hypocrites. IMHO.

They say we need to stabilize the population and some people run around screaming that they are pushing for killing people.

They are just saying wear a rubber FFS and stop popping out kids like a Pez dispenser.

3.3 billion, is that all
That's meaningless and far, far less than is spent in the US, which has a much smaller population. The US actually leads the world in carbon reduction and China is not even in the ballpark.

China building hundreds of ...

China, known as the world's biggest polluter, has been taking dramatic steps to clean up and fight climate change.

So why is it also building hundreds of coal-fired power plants in other countries?

It's all a propaganda ruse as explained in the NPR article.

Edward Cunningham, a specialist on China and its energy markets at Harvard University, tells NPR that China is building or planning more than 300 coal plants in places as widely spread as Turkey, Vietnam, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Egypt and the Philippines.

Days before the forum with its "clean and green" theme, the latest Chinese-built coal plant opened in Pakistan

As our energy production leads the world in reducing carbon emissions, it's really getting to be tedious that so many run with the myth that the US is bad and China good. It's all a lie. Even the EU is behind the US in this.

The idea of population reduction is hardly new and it was pushed even harder in the late 60s and into the 70s when we were told billions would be starving long before now, which turned out to be propaganda. We now produce enough to feed the whole world and starvation is the product of governments, not a shortage. Here in the US we've reduced the amount of farmland a great deal and still overproduce.

Why is it activists always misrepresent facts in such a glaringly dishonest way?

It does, doesn't it??

I'm sure all these population reduction advocates will be the first to step up to be liquidated...right?

Or will they be the ones doing the liquidating...?

Important question, I think.

Here is the thing. If the ice caps melt and the sea level rises then a large number of that 80% of the human race that live in coastal cities are gone. Over population solved. Of course if we just plant hemp everywhere the CO2 levels would drop into balance so problem solved.

Really? All while building coal-fired power plants in third world countries, right??

I was going to link that, but Blaine beat me to it.

You know you really should get both sides of a story, not just the one that agrees with your take on things. You could be wrong, y'know... In this case, you are.

I believe these scientist when one of them shows they really are serious by volunteering to kill themselves to help with the over crowding...

I want to see a entire room of them pull guns on each other and shoot themselves in the heads on live tv. The ratings would be killer...pun intended.

This seems like some kind of justification to wipe out a mass amount of people. So let's say we rid ourselves of 16% of the worlds population. That would be 1.24billion people. That should set things right?

So in an Ice Age Event one of the ideal locations to live would be Africa. Does anyone wonder why the UN is trying to "Modernize" the African infrastructure, remove political parties, and re-enforce the Peace-Keepers presents there? This current push for population reduction is really just a poorly masked attempt to justify genocide.

Anyone want to guess what scientists really think about where we are heading climate wise?

No
In China, it involved forced abortions.

Even China has abandoned that policy due to economic impact.

How about each Nation be responsible for their own overpopulation?

Would bring the problem home at its source and would let off the hook the West which has a stable population.

Just a random thought/hypothesis, but if population control was something deemed necessary I wouldn't put it past scientists to release a pandemic disease. Their scapegoat could be that the melting polar ice released an ancient bacteria/virus that our immune systems aren't prepared to fight. They could even control who survives with an under-the-table vaccine.

I know, strange, but who knows what people are capable of nowadays.

The FDA and their partners the Pharma companies are hot on getting that problem solved. They can reduce the population of this country by half within ten years. Look at the reduction of the population of this country in the last thirty years, if it wasn't for immigrants we would be well under three hundred million down from around three hundred thirty five at the high point without immigrants in high numbers.
