What if this is the "new" way to get around gun laws? Stores stop selling guns, ask open carry stop, and eliminate any reference to weapons. The Second Amendment is still intact but good luck fulfilling it.

You can always shop somewhere else... like you can use a different web browser... and a different video playing site... and a different online ordering company...

The VFW does not allow weapons on the property and they are all ex military.
At least the one in my city does not.
Most bars opt for the no weapons in the bar at all here in Virginia.

But carrying a concealed weapon is a crime in Virginia.

That's a legit thing though. The last thing you need is a korean looking guy with a pistol walking into a VFW and setting off a chain reaction of PTSD.

That's legitimately for the safety of the carrier.

Shooting incidents they are pushing into the spotlight?

Should they just not report them at all then?

And yet, I'd rather they were carrying weapons..

I'd feel way safer.

Shooting incidents they report on in a biased fashion to push an agenda.

Yeah look at all the times where Joe Public stepped up to the plate to take out an active shooter while waiting for LE to arrive.
Oh yeah, none times. Which is to be expected.

I love when emotion overwhelms clear thought.

Open carry is not carrying in your hand. That is called brandishing, very illegal and dangerous.

Sweet and innocent guy at the wrong place at the wrong time? Hardly, but neither should have put him in his resulting situation.

9/11 caller...obviously afraid of guns and potential mass shootings. Maybe if could have identified that it wasn’t a real gun... But a guy yelling on a phone brandishing a firearm should elicited some sort of reaction and desire to protect others. 9/11 was a low risk action.

Over hyped police officers told one was about to happen and recently trained on mass shootings tactics and procedures which is to forego backup and usual personal safety and take out the shooter immediately.

Final actions of Crawford was moving the barrel around absentmindedly and not immediately complying. Arguments can be made for his level of distraction on the phone, but it was the upward movement of the gun barrel that got him shot. The officers did not have the opportunity to second guess the realism of the gun given what they knew and observed. Same would have happened regardless of Crawford’s race. And would happen exactly the same way today.

Food deserts are created by too many armed robberies in a specific timeframe in an area. The store shuts down and no one replaces them. Open carry may deter or delay a would be robber. Banning open carry may create more food deserts without that deterrence. Which was my point.

If they are concealed they can call the police because that is not okay.

Excuse me? If I am concealed carry, it is because I renewed my permit. If I renewed my permit it is because I have a reason. That is perfectly legal, and certainly OK.

According to the Constitution, I should not even need a permit. Nowhere in the Second Amendment is the word "concealed."

Its been working fine for the other 99% they don't give that spotlight to...when was the last time we got national coverage of the mass shootings that happen weekly in Chicago?

They'll need new greeters. Put a young, pretty 20-something in a miniskirt and tank top greeting customers and I might let her frisk me for free.

I'm not 20 but I might find a tank top and mini skirt that'd fit.
