Or maybe Israel, while we're on the subject anyway. Since critiquing it is anti-semitic, maybe he can just set up shop there & MIGA or something if he feels so strongly.

There was a time even though no one is perfect and so mistakes were made big mistakes that the POTUS would or could be viewed as a RESPECTFUL Global Representative of the American people in general.

I try to be optimistic and give most the benefit of the doubt🤔

In relation to the current POTUS I figured the American people and Hillary as well as the global community had a unfair psychological game played against them that road on the back of a foreign countries word game called FAKE NEWS and so game was set. I'm sure the Russians that were responsible had their tracks cleared. Except the boss...😐
Now the current representative at times has displayed and continues to display disrespectful rhetoric AT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE HE WORKS FOR

Yes he does well with NK and keeps the wall-streets moving positive which drives the overall foundation of finances for the country but when it comes to human relations with the American people and her Original allies it's like if you don't smile at the enough, praise the and worst of all act like you like the (annoyingly as if dealing with some corporate cutthroat) he seem to catch feelings...

Rhetoric filled with ignorance like recently shared by the POTUS only energizes the weakest of weak hearted who seek segregation and psychologically harms the many who like working integrated as one.

If some Aliens showed up today and said ape descendents go back to where you came from for turning this planet into a garbage dump, this is not the planet of the apes how would some feel

It's the same mentality reflected...

You're right. If someone is antisemitic they are also against Palestine.

Criticizing a nation isn't racist, I mean it can sort of be but 95% of the time it's not since different ethnicity's live in nations, Jerusalem is a melting pot of all Abrahamic religions, that region of the ME was always a melting pot.

. I know that’s a lot to ask from the low info posters of ATS

What do you mean by "low info posters"...?

If you're implying I'm not on here much (anymore) it's because I have a life....and a girlfriend.

Going to re-read your post. I hope its thoughtful & intelligently presented Mr. High Volume ATS poster.

God damn you guys are petulant as hell.

Relax...I'm just having fun with ignorant people.

Trump is 'otherizing' them on account of their race.

I don't see it as a tangential topic to the OP, though. He's calling them out not because of their race, but because they are actively trying to install here the same policies that lead to the destruction of prosperity and abdication of liberty in the countries they or their ancestors came from. That's actually a factual position for him to be taking. Before they are allowed to participate in the discussion in this country we need to know that they're able to clean up the mess their ideology creates.

But these people have no more connection to their ancestral homelands than you or I, so why isn't Trump calling out anyone else with Socialist ideas by their homeland? Isn't it ironic that Bernie hasn't been called out similarly since he too has an ancestral homeland with various problems?

Are we seeing a massive influx of asylum seekers from the other's homelands? News to me if we are...

Well we can't just look at the situation in a temporal vacuum; in Bernie's case, yes, we saw several mass immigrations from Europe in the late 19th and early 20th centuries (specifically Germany in this case), in direct contrast to the mass immigration taking place today however, most of them were let through with barely any processing whatsoever.....

First of all, yes, we can look at it in a temporal vacuum because you expressly asked why Trump didn't call out other socialists with the same "fix the problems in your country of heritage" type comment. Simple fact, why would he call them out to fix something that was "fixed" decades ago?

Second, your point on them being "let through with barely any processing" is patently false. Following WW1, the US was practically isolationist. In 1921, Congress passed the Quota Act which seriously restricted the immigration numbers from eastern Europe. That then became the 1924 Immigration Act, which effectively banned all immigrants from Asia and seriously restricted the numbers of Italians, Jews, Greeks, Poles, and Slavs allowed into the country. During WW2, the quotas were adjusted to permit more Jewish refugees into the US, but overall immigration numbers were not permitted to rise.

Compared to the 1920s-1950s, US immigration policy in 2019 is an act of kindness and generosity and the country is ridiculously easier to immigrate into.

Thinking about this...

If I was to tell a black dude to go back to where he came from in that same kind of context then honestly I think it would be seen as a racist remark. Not exactly a cut and dry case of racism, I think it can often come down to interpretation but actually thinking about, yeah, its a racist remark.

Now watch as all the Trump supporters lose their minds that the alien in a suit called Trumps remarks racist...

Ummm, isn't that what's happening? Ilhan Omar is from Somalia, so at least one of them is being told to go back to Africa. And that's exactly why everyone has their knickers in a wad, not just aliens who got an instant wedgie from it.

How often do conservatives and libertarians get told that if we don't like the socialist agenda, we ought to move to Somalia though because it has a real libertarian government?

Hmmm... I always wondered why people who are always thinking of race and racial perspectives call others racists so easily. Sounds like an unhealthy preoccupation with seeing race first and ability (or lack thereof) last.

Funny that.

The rationale not long ago for *why* that would have been a racist remark wasn't rooted in someone's feels like this is, though. Just 10-20 years ago, the discussion would have turned to how the blacks started in America as slaves, in other words they weren't rooted here by choice. So yeah, there's a wound with a scab on it there... not so much when dealing with actual immigrants who supposedly were here because of the promise of America, not to change America into something closer resembling whatever hellhole their ancestors (or them) fled from.

That's true.

If the old saw is that those who hate gays the most happen to be closeted gays, then perhaps it just might be true it takes one to know one, so those who cry racist the quickest and loudest better look long and hard in the mirror.

Only the dog hears the whistle.

If you don't like it here, why did you come here? Why didn't you simply fix the place you came from if you are looking to change an entire country into your vision?

Nothing racist about it.

Again, whites regularly get told that with no compunction whenever Native American issues come up.

So, this is really a double standard thing. They're getting a hit off it because they're women of color, and for no other reason.

Well Ilhan Omar WAS born in SOMALIA. However, it seems that Potus meant for then to go back to their districts and fix things there. Pelosi too in my opinion.
Who said that Trump doesn’t love America ?
To Nyiah : With regard to the First Lady, she loves America and is not trying to change it into a Marxist third world country.

Um, the other 3 were born in America..where are to go back to?

So if I understand this, people born and raised in "their" country, should leave if they don't like it. Well the same to Trump. Also, I guess all the people held in custody at the border might find it odd the pres is telling people if they don't like "their" counrty, they should leave it for greener pastures

Haven't you been told that whites should all leave this country to the Native Americans? Most of us have been here generations, but we still get told that.

My point is that people regularly get told that if they don't like it here, they go back where they came from. People of all colors, shapes, and sizes who have been here for generations get told that for various reasons.
