For one, he is not responsible. He is a wild catter taking what he can for the short term and to hell with the long term. Just like so much of the stock market. He has opened up a field of hope for others to make money and it is they who are stoking this brief surge in the economy. Where can we make our money now and be damned with the future. That is how I see this up turn in the American ecoonomy.I do not see it as sustainable. He is willing to trade on the momentary up tick in jobs at the expense of a long term plan to sustain our children and grandchildren.

I have no proof of this or at leas proof that would satisfy his support base but there you have it.
Taking what? He’s giving up even his salary as Potus for various causes. What he has been taking though, is the hatred and condemnation of the entire Democrat Party, radical feminists, Hollywood, Planned Parenthood and every socialist on the planet. Why don’t you try that sometime!

lem. The problem is people who cannot tell what is a lie and what is not without the blessing of their leaders. I never once watched CNN until I had been here on ATS for 8 years. So I started to watch it off and on to see if it was as bad as some here made it out to be. It was not. It has bias and it has an agenda. But I have the ability to distinguish the difference

Wow how can you continue to watch it then? I think one has to be left leaning to appreciate CNN. I cannot watch it... it makes me feel poisoned. I feel poisoned by all the left leaning sites ... I don’t know .. maybe I’m just one of those people who prefer personal liberty than the theft, radical ideologies, totalitarian authoritarian control and radical abortion policies of the Left. But that’s just me.

Trump has a great point. Those congresswomen should not be pissing on the very country that elevated them to the status of lawmaker while saying nothing of the s-hole countries from which they came.

His comments have nothing to do with races or immigration status, but the hatred they spew from their own mouths.

Sure, his assumptions may be off, but that is a far cry from the stupidity on display from these congresswomen.

Trump, is brilliant has the media, and them dems screaming racism 🤦‍♂️ Of course they do not listen.. in the meantime, exec. Order removes asylum crickets 🦗 lol. Brilliant 👏. In addition the far left nuts are back in the media. The democrats are doomed in 2020. I am sure they figured it out by now and are even more pissed.

Intectualism, is by far at its lowest denominator in 2019..

Nice to see the POTUS telling an American citizen to go back from where they come from.
Good I too agree, and I'll back the POTUS up in that regard.

Gotta treat anti-Americans like garbage, sorry if that pisses you off that we're taking the trash out and airing the room.

Its time to take out the Republican trash. They are the ones that are anti-American by thinking that anyone who thinks differently than them deserves to be put in a camp or deported, or that they don't have a say in government, or that they don't deserve human rights or civil rights. Instead of getting triggered by different viewpoints and throwing a tantrum, Republicans need to learn to be mature enough to understand that there are other ways of thinking, and to work with them. Trump lost the popular vote, so your views are actually in the minority. Trying to force them on the majority is insane and you will have to resort to atrocities to do it. We are all Americans, but real Americans would never go down this fascist path.

You guys have a twisted view of freedom of speech if you think it gives you the freedom to suppress others' views.

Freedom of speech is the guarantee that govt isn't going to knock down your door because they don't like what you said.
In fact, it guarantees that the likes of Trump can say mean things if he likes. It also guarantees the likes of AOC the right to call anyone and everyone a racist including Trump and Pelosi.

I don't like Trump at all, but the left isn't convincing me that they are able or willing to do better. In fact, they have been major hypocrites in this whole thing. Their PC quest is tiring and their inability to reflect on why they lost the election is likely to cost them another.

3 out of 4 of them where born here in the U.S.

That is why it was ignorant, idiot statement by Trump. This reminds me of Bush jr years when conversations supported that idiot too. And all the jackasses that supported, McCain
, Romney, Obama and HRC for that matter.

The electoral college wins, not popular vote. I haven't seen any U.S. Citizen that has a liberal view being deported. Just illegal criminal aliens. Trump already tried giving them Daca in exchange for the wall and stronger border security. Try turned it down.

It's more than just providing cover for the new EO; he is also pushing the Democratic party closer to the 4 individuals he was referring too at a time when the Democratic parties own internal pooling shows that they should be distancing themselves from these 4 congresswomen. Pelosi tried too take care of this problem in the days preceding Trump's tweets and he just made it harder for her. All at no cost to himself.

I don't approve of this way of conducting politics; but it does seem like the norm these days.

That's because they are The New World Order kind of guys who think all is well when and if that ever happens. Because if that ever happens its then the NWO march towards population reduction to 500,000,000 [Five Hundred Million] whereas we are at 5.4 BILLION. So who stays and who goes? Well I do know that they would get rid of all deplorable's.

Hmmm... Note the two statements I bolded in your post? Well, seems that itis YOU that is trying to suppress a different mindest and ideas, doesn't it? After all, the 1st Amendment protect that speech in which you disagree, regardless of how you feel.

Get with the program and understand (and accept) that others have different ideas. And, your accusations of "insane" and "atrocities" don't work anymore. Notice I did not use any personal attacks or hyperbole based statements in my rebuttal. Can you make the same claim in your response to me?

Yes, it is called projection. They project upon others the bad things they are guilty of themselves. Psychologically, it is due to them thinking that if they are doing it, everyone else MUST be doing it too. After all, we are all one hive mind, and MUST think the same. Just ask Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley what a brown person should think, or a queer person. To them, individual thoughts are bad if they do not meet the rigid standards bestowed upon the color of their skin or the gender they have chosen.

However, aren't they also spouting on about embracing diversity? That diversity, however, does NOT include diversity of thought. Why? Because diversity of thought is a very dangerous thing for individuals to have since it threatens the group narrative to seize power over we "deplorables".

Because...Trump speaking out of his backside is a shock to everyone...none of us have ever heard him spout off about people before. *RME*

I don't think he should have said what he said, but I think he should keep his mouth shut 95% of the time anyway and only be allowed to twitter through a nanny lol

Perception is everything, they say.

I truly believe (my opinion) that these 4 congress people are anti-american. That being said, I think most of the Democratic party is right behind them, but these 4 are absolutely the worst.

I really get the impression they hate this country and at least all the white people in it. That makes them part of the problem that we are having in the country today, not part of the solution.

So you’re saying republicans are trash and anti-American because we want our borders secured and our immigration laws enforced?

And why do you think someone here illegally from another country should have a say in our government? That’s stupidity on another level IMO.

You’ve literally flipped everything the left does ten fold and replaced it with the word Republican instead of Democrat. Do you really want to have a honest conversation about freedom of speech and who’s silencing who? Because that’s pretty much the lefts MO.

And speaking of triggered, I’ve never in my life seen more people getting triggered than I have the left. They act like a bunch of overgrown babies who have to resort to name calling and vile insults every time they don’t get their way. They’ve become a party of hateful hypocrites with no message other than hatred.

Your post is drowning in hypocrisy my friend.

For me, the question that I have to ask is just what drives the media. Going back in time to the accounts you offer of rural American media as well as the media in the major metro areas the one major driver of both was money to support the stations and networks. That and profit for the owners and share holders. Where the consumers were conservative, conservative tomes were utilized to keep people tuned in, where they were more liberal, liberal narratives were provided.

Back then though there was much less ''talk'' or opinion programming. And way back then the ownership of those stations and networks was much less centralized. Little stations in isolated towns were owned locally providing local outlooks. Stations in the larger areas needed to compete with other stations in their areas. In order to either hold or gain listeners and viewers what they had to do was to provide programming that was slightly different from the others in their areas. They all had to do this. This meant that they had to find and push stuff that would make them unique and that meant that they had to find new stuff, to cut their own swath in the market place. They had to be to a degree, ''liberal'' to experiment with new types of music and programming that would attract, not so much the older listeners but rather the younger people and that meant catering to youthful fads, hence the blossoming of ''anti-establishment'' programming. Not virulent anti-establishment programming because that would break the system but small ''try this new fad'' kind of stuff that would encourage sponsers of those new products to advertise to that consumer crowd.

But the bottom line was always the same. Money to run the place, money to pay the people, money for the pockets of the owners and money for the share holders. And money to pay the banks that lent them the money to open shop.

THen all hell broke loose. The money was not rolling in fast enough and this station bought out that station and that network took over another. The tendency to monopolize within this economic system has always been a problem. But for a long time it was recognized that the media needed to be independent, not only from the government but from centralized control as well. This meant keeping it in the hands of as many as possible. There were regulations that kept this as paramount for decades.

But entering the 80s the corporations needed more money and began to push Washington to do away with those regulations that held the gathering of media power into only a few hands in check. The Reagan administration began an assault on those regulations and was continued by the Clinton administrations allowing for the mega-media empires we see today.

Control of the info-sphere in the hands of only a few. And those few are not communist or socialist. They are corporate capitalists, hence, they do not lean so very far to the left but rather lean only to one side of the corporate spectrum

Within that spectrum, one side sells one to one side and the other sells to the other.

One can just drop out of paying attention and turn them off or one can choose a side and run with which ever narrative is being sold. Or one can listen to both and juxtapose the two narratives and arrive at their own conclusions.

I never once watched CNN until I had been visiting ATS for over five years. But the hammering it got from one side of that ''issue spectrum'' was so intense that as an experiment I started to listen what they were presenting. I find it biased of course but not to the degree that Trump is and his supporters are making out.

So basically I make it out as corporate wars, battle between money making entities, one selling conservative tropes and memes and the other selling liberal tropes and memes.

And that other reply you made to me, I will try to get back to you in discussion on that topic as well but trying to hold my thoughts clear on this topic has stretched my coherency to my limits.

The other major factor was the start of the 24 hr news cycle. Prior to that, the news was twice a day on average (6 pm & 11 pm). The actual news of the day fit into these two time slots. However, when Ted Turner brought CNN to 24/7 airtime, they needed SOMETHING to broadcast. Therefore, the political opinion format was created and expanded to fill those times when real news was scarce.

Then, in the late 90's IMO, the manufacturing of news became more pronounced to fill that time as well. It also brought in viewers eyes and $$$ to the advertisers. And as is with the nature of competition, we began an "arms race" to see who could be more extreme in their filler to steal away viewers from rival networks.

Then, "reality TV" shows became the rage in the 00's, and many producers of those highly successful shows became employed in the "news" media organizations. They were there for the strict purpose of raising viewership using the same "reality TV" formula for the news media.

Now we have a fully formed "reality TV" media circus broadcast 24/7 to the masses. News, REAL NEWS, has been all but forgotten and replaced with "Reality News". Where perception and getting the most excitingly sounding headline is the only paramount goal. Truth and news is dead in the MSM.

Long live the news.
