I imagine the profits generated through the tax would go a long way to funding proper mental health programs to tackle any adverse addictive effects and associated mental illness and issues that go hand in hand with the consumption of narcotics.

We are talking billions if not trillions of dollars that could be generated.

We should make all drugs legal.

The idiots would end up killing themselves, the cartels would go out of business, and we wouldn't have to worry about poop on our streets.

Win-Win.

By legal, do you mean not putting the users and those that make them in Jail?

I'm all for executing the maker. Sorry, but it has to come down to that. I don't give a fk if people want to ruin their lives or even enhance their lives taking dope. As it has been said, they don't call it dope for nothing.
Some countries in Asia already follow this policy of executing the drug maker and the importer of dope. I think or I should say, America should follow the same rule.

“There were 189,000 heroin users in the US in 2001, before the US-NATO invasion of Afghanistan. By 2016 that number went up to 4,500,000 (2.5 million heroin addicts and 2 million casual users). The US military invades Afghanistan yet leaves all the opium fields alone.
Even though those fields are said to provide 90% of the world’s heroin.
The US Central Intelligence Agency trades drugs to those who will fight their battles for them.

It sort of sounds like maybe the US ought to forget about Mexico and invade their own CIA as well as burn those Afghan poppy fields to the ground, salt the Earth, and incinerate any future efforts to regrow that crap. Either that or start cutting heroin with Draino and saturate the marketplace with that, making those not currently using opiates too disturbed of the possibility of getting the bad stuff to ever consider trying it and those who are already on it either get off it or end up no longer a drain on society or their communities.

Dude, you are cruel..
But in this case I'll have to go along with your cruelty .

Well goodness, perhaps we should worry much more about our own cartels. Big Pharma and a whole boat load of Doctors need to be dealt with in regards to the opioid crisis.

Big Pharma has been steadfast with designer pain killers, each more powerful than the last one. Doctors who routinely prescribe again and again knowingly participating in the scheme, perhaps some just too naive, and maybe shouldn't be able to write prescriptions period but I doubt it.

And let's be honest, America has to be close if not the number one market for illicit drugs, so those cartels exist because of our own habits.

Perhaps it is time to show the potential of legal marijuana to the cartels. America seems to have trouble meeting our own demands, why not partner with Mexico to farm legal weed for the world market.

Might just keep some from wishing to leave those fields of green, green marijuana and green as in 100's of millions or even billions of dollars, thus stemming the tide of illegal immigration.

we just need to fire all our law enforcement and politicians. They are the ones allowing the drug cartels to thrive.

The cartels are paying them a ton of money. A # ton of money. One of the perks of being a politician or FBI...

Then we need to legalize everything and make rehab centers free for people who want to get clean.

Problem solved.

What the government is doing now is utter BS. My Dr wrote me a prescription for Tramadol today and I couldn't get it filled. The fricking Fed has ruled that the initial fill can be for only 7 days and the prescribing dr has to provide pre-qualification to fill the entire prescription. How STUPID is that to have the prescribing Dr provide pre-qualification for a prescription he wrote.. Stupid X 3.

What if the Gov authorizes growers/makers? How are they going to arrest and execute them if they gave them permits?

Do you think the US government should kill the people working at legal breweries and distilleries because some people can't control their drinking?

They also don’t have legal guns and have much higher tax rates and are much more socialistic. So what’s your point? Less diversity = less freedom ... you want freedom you deal with diversity.

Diversity doesn’t equal drug addiction. Drugs have always been an issue in the United States longgggggg before we have become more of a melting pot.

People forget what happened during prohibition.

You can't compare alcohol to coc aine. Cocaine was designed for rape. A lot of gangsters used it to rape women in bars by spiking the drinks, that is why it started to sell first place. Criminals used Cocaine to rape people and deliberately kill people. They do it by spiking food or drink.

Alcohol was there since forever. Almost every country had alcohol drinks. Cocaine though can kill you in an instant overdose. Ever heard of Drunk masters from China? You will never hear anything about white crack kung fu masters. Cocaine is basically poison that will either kill you instantly or slowly.

This is another cheat poison/drug the blinds the opponent used in fights for example in this movie call Bloodsport.

Coca is poison, it will never be legal. By spiking the masters drink. You have a chance to kill the person easier. If you watched Chinese kung fu movies, you'll understand what coc aine is would be mainly used for if it becomes legal. It is one of many poison, but not deadly enough to kill the person in an instant.

If non-drunk person dies from drinking a wine in an instant, it is not alcohol its the extra poison/drug added in the drink.

Think your dealer is punting/passing Rohypnol as coc aine.

Coca is one of the oldest, most potent and most dangerous stimulants of natural origin.

Three thousand years before the birth of Christ, ancient Incas in the Andes chewed coca leaves to get their hearts racing and to speed their breathing to counter the effects of living in thin mountain air.

Designed for rape???

Don't be silly. LoL

Wow, that is ridiculous and the reason I oppose gov intervention on most fronts. They f up everything they try and fix and just make it worse.

The manufactured powder ones are not natural ones compared to the leaf ones. I say any manufacturing of powder coc aine should be banned.

Coc aine was first isolated, extracted from coca leaves, in 1859 by German chemist Albert Niemann.

It was not until the 1880s that it started to be popularized in the medical community somewhat before the time of what you may call the popular view of gangsters.

Austrian psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud, who used the drug himself, was the first to broadly promote coc aine as a tonic to cure depression and sexual impotence.

Nothing to do with being a designer rape drug any more than Viagra is. LoL

Yes, that was a mistake. That is why Germany banned it for obvious reason. US gangsters decided to buy them and take advantage of the drug. Then it spread to the world with gang/mafia related activities to use against their enemies, forcing them to become addicts or rape women in bars. They started luring high school kids and selling it to them just to make a few bucks. Then the cycle repeats.

To the idiot who says legalize it, is already asking to be forced to sniff coc aine. Too many criminals already force people to use the substance. Legalizing is stupid. Gangsters in schools have been forcing people to sniff coc aine on gun point since the cold war when you piss them off already. Easy access is idiotic.

Then where would you get all that lovely Coke and Weed that your nation's populace craves so much?

Coke yes, but weed?

No one in the US smokes Mexican weed anymore, nearly all weed here is grown locally and is of much higher quality than anything coming out of Mexico. So much so that Mexican weed is even known all the way up here in Washington as “Mexican dirt weed” because of its horrible quality. With the wave of legalization I’d be surprised if the cartels even bother with weed anymore.
