In my OP, I explained that this is what I think should happen with gov't officials who misuse email that's public record. Any university professor or county janitor would be disciplined for doing the same.

I know!! I was expecting some reasonable voice from the right to be like, umm, that's not cool.

But many are harping on the "it wasn't classified!" banjo. Public record is public record. It is the property of tax payers. Using private email is unethical because it denies the public what's rightfully theirs. Some people call it transparency.

Ms. Trump did not create a private server in her house or office, no classified information was ever included, the account was never transferred at Trump Organization, turned over all her government-related emails months ago, and no emails were ever deleted. But let’s treat her the same as Hillary. Brilliant.
