The cost of putting US military bases across the globe, to have the ultimate empire that 'the sun never sets on', the cost of American Imperialism is those crappy deals he's talking about.

American Imperialism is the problem.

Americans do not want to be the world's police force. It drags us into every little fleabag conflict and makes everyone hate us. Trump understands that. Let these guys field their own army. Or at a minimum, make them pay a fair rate for our services.

I think the number of overseas bases was up to around 800 under Obama (an increase above Bush's 740ish bases).

I've yet to see anyone talking about any being closed, like ever, since 9/11.
