Wouldn't be the first time they got caught trying to script a "town hall" meeting, its up to CNN to prove they deserve to be taken serious again as a news agency.

And it's up to the OP to prove that this YouTube video is not a... (c'mon, everybody... starts with an "H.")

Add to this the fact that the other main kid from the school giving (scripted) speeches is the son of an FBI agent who is openly against Trump.

At least we know that the FBI agent's son is really a student at the school. Whatever his personal politics are, he is definitely not a "crisis actor." Is the young man in the OP really a student at Parkland, or is he a crisis actor? Still waiting. (For further reading.)

How do we know that the FBI agent's son is really a student at the school? Because it was reported in the news?

I'm not clear what you are getting at between *knowing* the FBI agent's son is a student but *not knowing* if Colton Haab, from the OP, is.

What kind of evidence would satisfy you?

This story is evidence that the right is also exploiting this massacre to advance its agenda. How do we know that this student is real? Maybe he is a "crisis actor" hired by the right, or an alt-right student?

You're an aspiring journo - now's your chance to shine and present the evidence to reflect your allegations.

I'm not the one making allegations, you are. Can you provide evidence that this person exists, is enrolled in the school, and is telling the truth about being approached by CNN? See how that works? Once you invent the "crisis actor" conspiracy theory it works both ways. You are an aspiring conspiracy theorist... investigate.

you have jumped the shark yet again. It's a shame to see what the hate has done to you. I can only hope that at some point, you realize what you are doing and find a way to stop it.

this kid does go to that school, he IS in the JROTC, he DID help kids hide, and he is asking the kind of questions that aren't approved, like for armed veterans to guard schools, and why his dead teacher wasn't able to use his weapon to save lives.

This should be a non political thing.

CNN...Who cares...

All the bashing of our school system...yet these kids are better spoken than most adults I know.

It's possible that Haab is lying about CNN, but there's no disputing that this kid was supposed to ask a question at the town hall. CNN tweeted a statement about it (although they dispute that the scripted anything).

As to whether he's a student...honestly, it would take seeing school enrollment records to *prove* anyone is a student there.

But, apparently, CNN believes he is a student.

Actually , it is on you to prove he is not. The OP was placed with information you rejected . Within debate rules you must provide information to legitimatize your side.

Correct. They give money to politicians to make laws in their favor.

So effing what?

That IS how a democracy works.

You go after something two things happen.

One sides spends billions to get something banned.

The other side spends billions NOT to get something banned.

THAT is how lobbying works.

Don't like the NRA fine.

Don't go after a clear RIGHT laid out in the Bill of Rights.

Because the School Superintendent said so. (Contrary to what the right wing echo chamber has been reporting.)

What part of "how do we know Colton Haab" is not a "crisis actor?" If he was espousing gun control, you all would be anagramming his name by now.

What kind of evidence would satisfy you?

A statement by the School Superintendent would suffice. Why not just email him?

and the politicians and lobbyists get rich no matter what happens. It's time for all this to stop. It's not right.

Why do the lefties take CNN bashing personally ? It is just a damm news network ? Why the desperation to make them seem right?

Thank you for actually addressing the issue! Have a star. Your source throws some light on what actually happened:

"After seeing an interview with Colton Haab, we invited him to participate in our town hall along with other students and administrators from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School," Hudock said. "Colton’s father withdrew his name from participation before the forum began, which we regretted but respected.

thehill.com...

In other words, Haab's father did not want his son used in what he had reason to believe would be a politically divisive forum. Colton Haab is expressing his opinion of CNN's intent, since he did not actually participate. That wasn't so painful, was it?

Exactly wrong. I could say: "The Moon is made of cheese, prove me wrong." The onus is on the person making the claim, not the one who needs to be convinced.

No news outlets will get in trouble for this because of the NDAA reauthorization that Obama signed, along with it's added language lifting the ban on domestic propaganda.

There is literally nothing illegal about domestic propaganda anymore... No recourse, no fines, no reprimand, no nothing. Everything you see on TV is now suspect and should not be believed to any extent without first doing your own due diligence.

The issue is not a left-right one, it is whether or not one consumes "news" in a responsible fashion. For days, the right has been claiming that the students are being used by the left. This makes the right, in effect, doing the same thing: using the situation to further their agenda. Unfortunately, the right's agenda also furthers a campaign to undermine the First Amendment by casting doubt on American journalism. Don't reject, think critically.

Exactly the campaign I was referring to. The above member wants to convince you that everything you see is nothing but lies and propaganda. Don't fall for it. Use your brain. Seek out as many sources as you can and think critically. (Incidentally, QAnon is a Russian psyop.)

Not my problem.

CNN caters to the Anti-America crowd. Boycott the products that are advertised on CNN, and let those advertisers (companies) know that you are, and why. I've been doing this periodically since early 2017. Advertising is 45% of CNN's revenue.
