Not even worth responding to as I have fielded this, like, five times now.

BUT...yes, it is a photo of the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas.

The floor numbers over 60 are a well-documented *thing* the hotel does with the upper floors, and who the heck cares about the elevators going to certain sections of floors? Not me. I didn't raise the issue because I thought it was unbelievable or impossible or a hole in the story....I raised it to help bring clarity with regard to the floor numbering.

Also, as I have pointed out NUMEROUS times, the Mandalay Bay hotel IN LAS VEGAS has been reported to have only 39 floors by....wait for it....WIKIPEDIA, in the past.

If you would simply read through the comments in the last couple of pages...you would have seen all of that.

mmm...kay. You really do cherry pick info that supports the official story of anything and everything.

Police ALSO said they had reports of a gunman on floor 29.

That's also been quoted in the last few pages...here it is again:

Joshua Bitsko: We're told that security is taking fire from a suspect on the 29th floor. And that we had other officers that were identifying the suspect was in a room on the 32nd floor. So we're thinking multiple shooters at this point.

Found something further - Mandalay Bay labels Penthouse suites as floors 60 to 62 (starting at 40 floor )

64 th floor (actually 43) is restaurant and bar named Foundation Room

The gold coloring of the hotel is a result of gold leaf used on the windows. Levels 40-42 (numbered as floors 60–62) are designed as penthouse suites, with a penthouse lounge on level 62 for guests staying in the penthouses.[citation needed] Level 43 (numbered as 64) is the Foundation Room, a restaurant and bar.

Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino 480 (146) 44 1999

Listed at 44 stories, as pointed out, no 13 floor .....

Looks like someone is only counting the hotel rooms and not the penthouses and restaurant at top

I understand that RG, REALLY, I do. I do not dispute what wikipedia currently shows.

I am speaking on what they formerly had BEFORE THEhotel (now Delano) tower was built (which is 43/44 floors). BEFORE then, wikipedia listed the Mandalay Building that the gunman fired from as having 39 stories/floors.

I also counted the floors in that pic (from the bottom up) and in this one:


It would seem from those pics that the broken windows are on the 29th floor.

Forgive me if I don't take your word on that.

The Mandalay Bay built THEhotel (now the Delano) with their complex...when they did, the floor numbers were RAISED on Wikipedia from 39 to 43 (and 44 in some captures).

So...I am not certain the Mandalay Bay hotel building the gunman is in has 43 floors. I am confused why wikipedia once said it had 39 and only revised it after THEhotel (Delano) was built.

shouldnt they be able to trace his movements by going backwards through all the footage?

i have never been to a casino but dont they have a gang of cameras? they know what room he was in so cant they just track him backwards and find out when he came in? when and how he carried all the # in? where he was at before?
there are cameras everywhere..

what good are all these #ing cameras on buildings and street lights and atm machines and such if they cant trace back some # like this?

i dont know man. seems like it would not be that hard to get a bunch of dudes on the tape and track it back.

Here's the problem with stories vs floors in construction, a story that is 20' tall is considered as 2 floors. That way when they remodel they have the option to make a 20' tall story two 10' tall stories and in effect add a whole floor and the do not have to rename/label/change all the other floors.

I did find one video with the elevators starting at floor 3, I would assume that the main story/lobby level is 20' tall, if you started counting floors/windows from the exterior of the building, I would start at 3 instead of one.

Mandalay Bay has undergone three full remodels since it was built so I'm guessing that is where the confusion lies on the wayback machines cached pages referring to different number of floors.

One thing I just wondered about the bus stop video, after the first single pop at 3:25 the girl in the video says "and now glass is falling from the Mandelay Bay, then at 3:35 is the second pop.

Could these two pops be the glass being blown open (i.e. and the gun fire came from somewhere else) or could these be the two breach charges swat set off? I'm wondering how loud a .38 caliber revolver would be if it was used at point blank range inside a high rise hotel, even with the windows open...

Great catch there on "glass falling" comment. Seems that it certainly could have been the breach charges being let off and causing some of the glass in the shattered windows to fall.

I can't find a video of a "breach" with the sound being recorded from that distance. It would be interesting to know just how loud a breach would sound from that distance and whether or not it would sound like gunfire. I found one that seems to be a SWAT team training exercise but no indication of how far away the camera is set up, just some distance...

As pointed out - if discount the penthouses and restaurant get 39 floors in actual hotel

If working on that premise is 39 floors - "Yo Smith how tall is that hotel ?"

"Remember hearing its 39 floors..."

Can see from that picture is indistinct what floors are what at top of building

and start counting down .....

Can easily get 29 floors - especially at night and under conditions of extreme stresss

Looking at the wiki edit history, It could be someone in Canada saw the reference to floors 35-39 and added the 39 floors entry to match. (Jan 2007)
