This is all the new information I've been finding today -- some even tonight -- and many are worth their own threads if anyone is so inclined. I just wanted to post it all for those who want to know more about this killer. And his girlfriend. He doesn't seem to have been an especially nice or friendly guy. I won't speculate too much beyond that. Still too much to know. I'll post some highlights and quotes, but the articles are well worth reading. I'll try to add to this with new information as it comes out and everyone is welcome to add new info and links to it as well.

Stephen Paddock was brilliant, had an intimate knowledge of the Second Amendment and had a huge 'gun room', says friend, as it's revealed he had made to order weapons that cost thousands of dollars

Paddock had recently lost weight, also developed an obsession with his girlfriend's ex-husband, Geary Danley, and this is noteworthy in light of his debateably high dosage Valium prescription:

Paddock often wore brown cloth gardening gloves to prevent rashes from contact with cleaning chemical residues, the brother wrote. He was also allergic to many pills and was unable to renew his pilot's license - he had flown planes since he was a teenager - because he could not take the pills needed to reduce his blood pressure.

EXCLUSIVE: The missing gun: Stephen Paddock bought a high-powered Ruger rifle just hours before arriving in Las Vegas, but the $600 weapon was NOT found among his 23-weapon arsenal of death

Stephen Paddock bought a Ruger American .308 bolt-action rifle with an 18-inch barrel for $600 from Guns & Guitars just hours before arriving in Las Vegas

Vegas shooter had 200+ reports of suspicious activities, large financial transactions in casinos

In the last three years alone, more than 200 reports about Paddock’s activities, particularly large transactions at casinos, have been filed with law enforcement authorities, ABC News was told.

While some of the reports centered around "suspicious activity," most were "currency transaction reports," which casinos are required to file with the Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network when a person withdraws or deposits more than $10,000 in cash.

KILLER NEXT DOOR Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock was a ‘reclusive weirdo who had no furniture and kept his guns in fridge-sized safe’
Also describes Paddock packing up and leaving the house in early August, and Danley did the same a couple weeks later, and neither Paddock nor Danley returned since.

Stephen Paddock was prescribed anti-anxiety medication Valium which can trigger aggressive behavior four months before Las Vegas massacre

Las Vegas shooter's estranged brother has long criminal rap sheet including charges for 'arson and theft'
Notes that Paddock has worked for IRS and postal service, had dozens of homes in various states.... His brother, Bruce, has several felony arrests for crimes including arson, theft, burglary and selling marijuana... Their father was serial bank robber Benjamin 'Big Daddy' Paddock... on the FBI's most wanted list... Their mother tried to shield them from his criminal activity and created a normal, suburban life for them in Tucson, Arizona.... Benjamin was on the run for years before he was arrested in 1960 and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.... On New Year's Eve in 1968, he broke out of the Federal Correctional Institution at La Tuna, Texas.... re-captured September 1978... A year later, he was released on parole and then appeared to live out his days in Texas until his death in 1988.

new york post vegas shooter's girlfriend says she knew nothing about the attack

New details emerge about Marilou Danley, girlfriend of Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock
Additional info on Paddock's prior government employment: 1976 to 1985, letter carrier for U.S. Postal Service, agent for IRS, auditor for U.S. government’s Defense Contract Audit Agency, according to the Office of Personnel Management... Neighbors in several states described him as surly and unfriendly.... estranged from brothers.... married and divorced twice. Both ex-wives declined to talk to reporters.

Marilou is from the Philippines, confirmed citizen of Australia... Paddock at one point was a frequent gambler at the casino where Danley once worked... Atlantis officials said she has not worked for the casino for several years.... would show up [at Reno home] every three or four months and stay for no more than 10 days.... neighbors described Danley as extremely sweet and friendly.

According to Starbucks employees in Mesquite, including the supervisor, Paddock often berated Danley in public --

He would verbally abuse her when Danley asked to use his casino card to buy food or other things inside the casino... “He would glare down at her and say — with a mean attitude — ‘You don’t need my casino card for this. I’m paying for your drink, just like I’m paying for you.’ Then she would softly say, ‘Okay’ and step back behind him. He was so rude to her in front of us.”... ...

Everything We Know About Marilou Danley, The Partner Of The Las Vegas Shooter

Much in the article about and from Danley's family; Marilou told them not to worry and she has a clear conscience --

"She was sent away. She was away so that she will not be there to interfere with what he's planning," said one of her sisters, crying during the interview.

"She didn't even know that she was going to the Philippines until Steve said 'Marilou, I found you a cheap ticket to the Philippines'," said a sister.

Maybe it's just me, but his brother sure seems to be ignoring what seems to be family issues, including medical issues. Psychosis and other mental conditions can be genetic -- at least a genetic predisposition.

Since when could valium trigger aggressive behavior?

Well the 200+ reports, I don't personally find usual, especially for a man as wealthy as he seemed to be and his brother claims he was. Any cash transaction over 10k to my knowledge legally has to be documented and reported. They ask you for just about everything but your blood type when that happens. Probably common for this high roller.

Everything else just seems suspicious to me. Maybe we will never know and that I think hurts the worst. Not that knowing would bring anyone back or restore them to the lives they had before that night but.......... sometimes knowing helps.

Probably pretty much for always... it didn't change and neither have people. Sometimes they don't mix.

Here is more information -- some summaries and links to case studies and scholarly papers from Benzo.org.uk: Aggression, violence & Benzodiazepines.

Well, I've never heard of it, but I don't know everything.

I guess if the internet said it, it must be true!

Unfortunately, they don't differentiate between the legally mandated financial transaction reports, and the suspicious activity reports. They don't even explain what might constitute such suspicious activity. I think that's what we need to know more about before we can come to any conclusions one way or another.

Yeah, but as far as that goes that means anyone on any medication could become violent.

He flew around the world, kept safe houses, had an armory, worked for the gubment, defense contractors, was a degenerate gambler, abusive to two former spouses and his current girlfriend...

Anyone thinking the mob still runs Sin City?

This is the tip of the iceberg. Like his brother said, it was as if an asteroid flew out of the sky and landed on Vegas.

"If" they make a movie of this, it will make Casino look tame.

Wapo article in depth

Vegas shooter planned to survive and escape after deadly attack, police say

Las Vegas police confirmed Wednesday that they have evidence to suggest Stephen Paddock planned to survive and escape after he unleashed gunfire on a crowd of concertgoers Sunday night.

But they said they could not provide evidence to the public at this time explaining what was exactly found.

Source
Not surprised.

That stuck out to me too. Generally they'll slap on an additional sentence for escape. This leads me to believe he either turned rat or had some political juice behind. This was in Texas too. Not really a state known for their light sentencing.

People want their drugs to fix everything one minute and vilify the drug companies for not revealing everything they have ... then the next you put up 70% as if it's too loose!

Make up your minds ...
