If there are any new classics like astro or hidden hand or anything Ive missed it. I don't think the combined consciousness of ATS is young enough for such wonders. I know I would be still interested in a "government insider" or alien stories or whatever, but believability is hard to come by..

In other words the internet has matured.
Back in the 90s you could find a website no one else knew about yet. You could feel super cool above top secret. Over time the wild west of the internet has become google article recommendations that people pass off as their own areas of interest they stumbled on..

Deep machine learning algorithms and its just a numbers game until we are all sooo bland.

Even some of my favorite sites that were just loads and loads of government documents in one section and all the classic stories in another.. They've all devolved into watered down ad revenue sites without all the old content.

But beyond that anyone whos looked into these topics long enough knows you lose that childlike wonder after discovering a certain number of exaggerations and hoaxes. Even I hadnt seen a black triangle ufo or all my other experiences I would have written it off completely..

Until my world blew up haha.

I browse ATS saw the Slayer Thread but it didn't knock me off my feet. We had all of that before. Jaded seems the right way to put it.

Nothing that grand or epic!

There was an interesting thing that happened in Sunspot, New Mexico where all dozen residents were escorted out of their homes and "evacuated for their safety." FBI, helicopter swoops in, equipment taken off the observatory, then they seal off the town. Nobody said anything for a week! Speculation runs wild! Then, after MSM picks up on the story, a lame cover story is created where the janitor for the facility was downloading kiddie porn; That's all!; Nothing to see here! MSM does no investigation had they done just a bit, they would have found that the facility has not had a janitor for years. Oddly enough, our resident aircraft project forum sensei takes an interest which if you have been around long enough means something was seen that was not supposed to be seen! What it was, we will never know because if anybody says anything the group is so small it will be easy to figure who!

We had some members who had "boots on the ground" while it was happening! Reminded me of old ATS.

Things to note over the last few pages/posts. You are strong! You've done things I would not consider doing anymore. Like Reverbs and me, you are a kind of demanding perfectionist in your own way. Your coping mechanism could use some work but who's doesn't?

You were asking about "the best you, you can be". I liken it to having a mad skill, like playing guitar, or bo staff skills! You do not define it and tell people about it. It is for the others to decide if you are Bruce Lee with a bo staff or that chubby kid with a light saber of u-tube fame! You just be. If they "get it" (i.e., the best you), that is all you have to do! If they don't then what the h3ll do they know?! Right!?!

Stop trying to define yourself as others see you! A poet once wrote, "O would some power, the gift He give us, to see ourselves as other people see us"! And that was being said To A Louse!

I think I missed one of your posts a few pages back. Sorry!

We were talking guitar IIRC.

I've been lazy and haven't plugged into an amp for ever and a day. I play my electrics acoustically or just play acoustic. My slide technique has gone (what little there was! ), as has tapping and sweep and using a tremolo to do dive bombing stuff. But I see that as a good thing! Makes me approach the fretboard from a new perspective.

To tie it all together. Your brain gloms onto things. Be it a conspiracy theory, music style, idea, word, ear candy, meme, or method of playing. From NLP, you need to do the work to "reframe" (literally!) your experience (not just the plot of what came before but also your feeling). That takes an active approach to living the lie. Who knows, you could be totally wrong! Like Tiger Woods switching his swing only to break his leg and screw up his back. You own up and move on because it is OK to be wrong. That is one method of gaining experience!

@Peeple, that is what I mean about numerical age! Do not confuse my experience (age) with wisdom (experience)! Like Tiger's swing, I've missed quiet a lot.

Anyway, guitar. I have a rack full of effects that has not seen power in two years! I have my amp and pedal board that has not been turned on in over a year. I know, I know. In order to give a full account over my "Adventures with bankruptcy and my quest for a new guitar" (about purchasing Dora the Explorer!), I will have to plug in and listen. But my exile has been wonderful! I listen to chord changes, vocal melodies (or lack thereof), reverb on the snare, panning, etc., all as part of getting around to doing all that stuff for my own guitar playing.

As said in previous post, kind of perfectionist to the point of not doing anything (as seen from the outside). But that is OK. I always hate being "that is the snowboarding dude", "that is the dude in that one band", "that is the dude from our class", "that is that weirdo who is always doing math at the bar", etc! Being a wallflower for bit is OK because of all the new connections being forged in hate and cynicism of the rest of world is getting the creative juices flowing!

Summary: The Meta-verse works on it's own time line!



@all, PS - When I get around to recording/mixing the crazy crap I keep mentioning here and there, I will definitely share! You will laugh at how sincere Come As You Are is on banjo!!

Sitting in one place for a long time; and the entire spiral starts making some sort of sense... especially when one has nulled all of theirs and yet they remain present.

All sorts of knowledge arises and passes; or the coming and going of beings... might as well add the unheard and the heard to that old seen and unseen.

Just part of that all is impermanent business; but instead of YRMV YTMV at least as... name and or form goes; name doesn't last very long even though the form may repeat very often across a specified time and or distance... rate seems to be the variance based on that change.

Of course, some have been through the rice so much? They check grain by grain... is this really a grain of rice or dried larvae?

If they can't take the smell and or sight then of course they've tasted quite a few before... whether they remember that moment or not?

I have issues getting over it all. The woo, love and other catastophies. I haven't been very happy for quite some time now. But it's not very good and pretty boring. Or just not what I really need. I think that it is strong of you to admit that you need a little help. If I could offer a small suggestion, read about all things bright and beautiful by all means, but try embracing yourself instead of "it". Ultimately, however you look at it, you're the interface to whatever "it" is that you are seeking, and when you are unhappy, proper deep-down unhappy like you are, that distorts your reality making you more attracted, and attractive perhaps, to the intangible. Concentrate on what is tangible for the time being, get a job even if for no other reason than to provide a structural framework for you to move around and in between safely.

You're an intelligent and talented young woman, and like Reverbs says, powerful. Take that and use it to get physically and mentally strong, then you can take on reality. You're still young, even if you don't feel it right now, and age is just a number as long as you keep on working on what's going on on the inside where it counts, then you'll always shine.

All the adventures will wait for you to be ready for them to happen, nothing is more important than first taking care of you.

Today is election day in Bavaria. I didn't vote, but now I wait for results. Bavaria had the same party ruling since... always. That won't change today but reporters pretend it might be the day of the dawn. Yeah right as if... in 5 minutes the first reports with numbers are starting, but it's hopeless.

Im slowly turning psycho until I get a day off..
We just did like 20,000$ over the weekend.

I sleep every night.

Here you have up to 40 hours work WEEK. What did you call it? An 8 to 4? 5 days a week. For me its any random days or hours and anything over 40 hours is overtime so i make over 20$ per hour then. I have nothing to prove peeps. Like I've said, I lived enough for two lives.

The other person not you sounds like you are moving on and not blaming yourself. The new home will make you happy..

As for me again. Yes I know Im working too much. Not really much I can do. No One wants a job. College home game.. last weekend before fall break.
Of course this week I have a 200 person party.
Yay!

I don't tend to get sick like other people.
My body is fine.
Its my wakefullness that could slowly decline.
Even then I have a certain toughness.
Ill still be making all the peeples smile.
