The chants just reinforce the legitimacy of the coup. The military has every right to intervene under the constitution of Turkey if the government becomes too overtly religious or radically religious. It is a constitutionally secular country, and Erdogan's Islamist dictatorship is directly counter to the Turkish constitution.

I think the Government is overhyping it's successes, but at the same time the resistance is beginning to struggle. This could devolve into a civil war.

BBC coverage strikes me as being anti-Erdogan, not completely, but leaning that way.

I got the same impression. Nothing too overt or blatant but every so often a little quip slips out.

Not surprising for CNN to take a Pro Erdogan stance, Obama has already come out in support of the dictator. Post on that is a few pages back.
