This is a hit piece. Nothing more. What I like to see is how people are selective about polls. There could be a poll that says blacks support Trump or HIspanics support Trump and all of you will say how many polled. We get a few 'racist' answers to polling and all Trump supporters are racist. Did any of you read this gem in the article.

Public Policy Polling is a company aligned with the Democratic Party, and some of its results over the years have been suspected of bias. Taken by itself, its conclusions could be doubted.

So, while the DNC promotes racial and LGBT rights this poll shows all Trump supporters racists...it is using data from a left wing outlet.

Trump is not promoting a ban on all Muslims for life. He is using the threat as a talking point to make ICE a better organisation that can protect us from foreign nationals who want to do us harm.

33% want to ban gays from entering the country - This is just absurd, but you are talking to SC residents. This is bible country.
33% think the Japanese interment was a good thing - We were at war. It was a needed action.
31% think whites are a superior race - So what? This is called pride not racism. Why is it ok to support BLM but not be proud to be white
70% want the Confederate flag back - again, what is the big deal here? Read a history book on the Civil War
and here's the kicker 20% disagree with the Emancipation Proclamation. I bet 75% did not even know what it was...

How come no one ever measures liberals for their intolerance?

Oh, that's right. A liberal's s*** could never stink because liberals are all goodness and light and always right.

I create business reports on a regular basis. When i get a request, one of my questions is "what are you trying to demonstrate?"

You can make raw data support anything if you slice & dice it the right way

You can look up this poll and see how many people were polled instead of complaining about how there was an idiotic poll of 10 black people and they tried to say 30% of blacks would vote for trump.

Instead, you quote something that only says they suspect it could be biased. It would mean something if you could actually show evidence of bias. If the poll is flawed then show how it is flawed the same as how others show that some polls are flawed.

No DBC, you have that backwards. It is not saying that all Trump supporters are racist. The article points out that many racists support Trump.

That is not the same thing in the least, otherwise the statistics would have read that 100% of Trump supporters surveyed, harbour racist views.

This is a campaign tactic of intimidation. We have already seen in this thread where people have called all Trump supporters idiots.

It's a broad, sweeping generalization. It's lazy and illustrates how uninformed people are.

I tried to provide examples.

If someone stated that every Canadian was polite, people would be compelled to show how this is not the case. It shifts focus from the core issues and wastes time. Which is what these "polls" are designed to do.

First lesson in media stats class was that you can make a number say anything you want so long as you know to set up the question.

Meanwhile the democrats want you to work and give them all the money you earned.
I'd vote Trump first before I slave away for people I don't know who are too lazy/stupid to work for themselves.

Actually the whole OP is bull#. This is not about Trump supporters. READ the poll. It is a general question to any of the voters. If this OP is correct based on polling ALL candidates are supported by racist GOP voters...AND there is no question regarding the Emancipation Proclamation.

Would you support or oppose banning Muslims
from entering the United States?
60% Support banning Muslims from entering the
United States ..................................................
23% Oppose banning Muslims from entering the
United States ..................................................
Not sure 17% ..........................................................
Q21 Would you support or oppose banning
homosexuals from entering the United States?
20% Support banning homosexuals from entering
the United States ............................................
63% Oppose banning homosexuals from entering
the United States ............................................
Not sure 17%

they even ask this....

Do you prefer mustard, tomato, or vinegar
based barbecue sauce?
Mustard based 26% ................................................
Tomato based 31% .................................................
Vinegar based 26% .................................................
Not sure 17%

Then, if you drill down, they seem to have broken it into separate candidates...so for the first one it is 70% of 60% of an answer...

Also, if you do not think this is a left swayed poll to generate ill effect, scroll down and read what they asked the DNC....

DISINFO.....

I'm not gonna judge their intolerance, but I just find it a bit weird that when trump says he loves the "poorly educated" his supporters cheer like its something to strive for and be proud of. Wtf is that all about. It's like a comedy sketch.

That was a truly surreal moment. So odd in fact, I have a hard time even thinking Trump is serious in his WH bid; it's more like a peculiar stand up routine than a real political campaign.

I realize Donald has an unconventional style but wtf....?

Trump supporters are just too stupid to realize that if he does indeed get elected, he would swing so fast to the center their heads would spin :p

Except many of us know he is a centrist like us, and that is what we want?

Didn't expect that did you?

Or he is playing the role of badass to bring out the moderate voters in record numbers to vote against him. Politics is a game of perception, not reality.

Doesn't look like the "moderate" is a real voting political entity in this election. The republican moderate candidates are out or drawling little support. Hillary and the Bern are not moderates. BUT Mitt Romney, probably the poster boy for a moderate republican has been brought out to spend anything he has left in the way of dupery to go tax expert all over Trump. This will fail and only serve to expose the republican professional politicians as closeted socialists.

So, you believe that this poll is a campaign tactic, that it is a waste of time, and shifts focus.

Surely the best way to counteract that is to be realistic about what it suggests, rather than accepting the clear spin being placed upon that numerical data, which is what I did in making the distinction between the two?

Yes, we all know that the very existence of the poll in its current format is spin, it's all spin, its election season. Everything you hear from either side, be it out of Trumps mouth, or out of Hilary's arse, or from the Sanders camp, or Rubio, Cruz, or any other halfwit in the race. They are all going to be talking smack until the thing gets won. The way you avoid being sucked into that crap, is to at least make the right approach to the data.

In this case, a poll designed to make Trump look like a candidate ENTIRELY upheld by racists, actually shows that his support base is wider than that by a fair margin. Look at the data from more than one angle, and specifically more than the one angle that it is designed to fool a person into looking at it from, and you get a more nuanced view of both the data, and the source.

It's worth the time, trust me. That approach has saved me an awful lot of messing about in my life, and it can do the same for you! It also keeps the blood pressure lower than it would, if one just remained good and pissed off the whole time, about the suggestive effect of the polling.

Again, it's worth it for its own reasons, most notable being a measure of inner peace, which is a valuable commodity in this day and age.

Yes, as well it should!

The Dems will automatically call whomever gets the GOP nomination stupid and racist.

Maybe. But what if they ARE stupid and racist?

That WAS totally weird, wasn't it? I sat there with my mouth hanging open when I saw him say that and get a cheer. It was such an insulting and condescending comment. Next, he will be telling his supporters how incompetent they all are, and they'll LOVE it!

That was not my takeaway at all. NOT "entirely" at all. What the poll shows is that racists and the like are strongly drawn to him -- not surprising. It says nothing necessarily about the view of the average Trump supporter. It just says that the racists really like him, which everyone knew anyway. It also suggests (does not prove, but suggests) that he is throwing out racism-bait to whoever might nibble at it. This is really a base, vile tactic, and I cannot say for sure that that is what he is doing, since I cannot look into his heart -- but it is LIKELY that that is what he is doing.

I've always thought that Donald is playing his supporters for suckers...to what end? Time will tell...

When playing a political game of "perception, not reality" anythings possible....
