AH! Gotcha.

The quote from Dr. Carson's book does not, however, mention "Detroit."

I allowed that neither the General's schedule nor the Politico article nor Dr. Carson's book specifically stated the word Detroit.

You know, and I know, and I think any reasonable person knows that's what the man is saying but ...

Thanks for the link though!

Ben Carson says in his book that he was so proud to be at the front of the school parade that afternoon and that later that same day he met with General Westmoreland and was offered a full scholarship to West Point.

The last time I heard, that school parade was in the city of Detroit.

Carson never met Westmoreland because army records show that the only thing he did that night was meet with a Vietnam war hero at a dinner in another state. The record shows no meetings with ROTC members, at all.

It was a great big lie out of the gate to make himself look like some great hero. Sad.

Semantics? Yeah...whatever. He lied. Or didn't read his own autobiography.

Do people that are crapping on carson for this, also crap on hillary for outright lieing on more that one occasion? Like that time she talked about being under sniper fire, and a welcoming comite not existing, when it was the sniper fire not existing, and the welcoming comitee was there with open arms? I am sick of the hypocracy. I don't even particularly like carson much, he is a bit christian for my tastes. It just seems like petty nitpicking to me. As I proved with the picture I posted, it was often referred to as a government scholarship..... Are we really going to crap on this guy, while excusing obama gaffs like saying there are more than 50 states? While excusing hillary for saying what difference does it make when questioned about her lies? I guess I am just sick and tired of all of it. If you are a leftie, you will defend your team to the death, while criticizing the other team for doing the same. If you are a rightie, you will do vice versa. I hope those of us stuck in the middle prevail, because I am quite frankly, sick and tired of dealing with both of you.

haha, the answer is a resounding and embarrassing, and pathetic, NO.

The little Carson yippers and yappers are just wearing their little fingers out "proving" that offered = applied / accepted, and scholarship can not ever mean appointment. This is literally all they have (since "Detroit" sadly disappeared from their little story).

Yet Clinton is proven, on video, in transcripts, in testimony, to have lied endlessly. And they will be voting for her.

It's incredible that a whole party, and enough to sway elections, have devolved into pitiful childishness on every front. This is how we become europe, mexico, cuba, etc. But certain people will take that, if it means they can say "haha I got my way".

oh noes.....now that you lost the "Detroit" angle.....your answer isn't to say "That was wrong".

No, you pivot directly to "of course I can read his mind and I know what he was thinking and meaning".

Is there no low to what will be folded into this little campaign of hating the girl who's prettier than thou ?

This is just awful. The internet allows for literally any behavior with no remorse, lol.

lmao, there's nothing inside your little red line that's untrue. What "semantics" allow to you to say somebody lied, and quote something with no lie in it ?

I guess the "whatever" allows you to do so. haha, that's funny. Sad, but funny.

uh, he was a hero who saved countless children's lives, and ran perhaps the most prestigious hospital in America.

Your description of a story about him as a kid, to "make himself look (insert silly hyperbole)" is just nonsensical. Please bring us something that won't just be laughed at.

MOST dems KNOW Hillary is an unabashed liar (breakdown polls show this)..and from 'Landing in Bosnia under sniper fire' to 'it was all about a video', it's been proven over and over again....but they don't care and will hold their noses and pull the lever for her anyway.

Dr.Carson is an honest man, but he's a conservative Republican...so he'll get no love (EVER) from liberal, progressive, socialist, Dems.
When it comes time for them to vote, the mantra for Democrats will be: "Better a lying, corrupt, white, socialist politician, than an honest, successful, brilliant, African-American, conservative political outsider."

I think you've got it in a nutshell.

I just can't get past the fact that adults spend all this time bellowing and bleating about things a candidate did, or said, as a kid 40-60 years ago.

It's the epitome of foolish and pathetic....yet they can't stop themselves from doing it nonstop. What sad condition is this ?

Just like the cop-haters who don't even want to know what happened in the other 5 minutes of a carefully edited 10-second snippet. I'm firmly convinced that a lot of career petty criminals surf and troll the cop threads, just to vent their anger for having been arrested 30-40 times.

What hospital did Dr. Carson "run" again?

Did he write the book he bases so much of his famous story on?

Did he meet General Westmoreland in Detroit?

Did he get a scholarship to the Military Academy?

Does he think that Joseph built the pyramids?

Dr. Carson is not an honest man, by any rational measure you care to name.

Can you really call someone brilliant that thinks that Joseph built the Pyramids or that they're hollow and were used to store grain?

/shrug

Who "lost" the Detroit angle?

In your rush to post no-information BS ... I'm not the one who "lost" anything.

General Westmoreland was not in Detroit on the day Carson's book says he was.

Or do you have actual evidence you'd like to share?

You're really yelping "liar" at somebody for their religious beliefs ?

That's beyond petty and unusable for anything real.

And yes, you can call a world-renowned neurosurgeon "brilliant". What do you call him, outside of your tiny focus ?

Carson was an administrator at Johns Hopkins. Do you need some special definition of this to fit your agenda ?

You lost the Detroit angle. You're reduced to claiming that you know that's what he meant, and your cohort is reduced to claiming it's "implied".

You both lost that piece. Man up, just admit it. It hurts, but that's how we grow up !

You don't read very well. I didn't "lose" anything. What are you even talking about?

Where was the parade described in such detail then? Giza?

Right Carson was an administrator, i.e. he was head of a department, but he didn't' run the hospital as you spuriously claimed.

Here if your memory is bad:

I'm sure that's just another gaffe, right? It doesn't really matter what you say, right?

You guys do that with amazing regularity, huh?

"Man up." Provide some evidence that proves anything I've said is wrong.

Your posts are little more than bad jokes.

Was Westmoreland in Detroit when Carson's book (written by someone else) says he was?

Answer that question. Focus.

Why are you lying?

It would be cool if you could remember what you post.

You flat out called ben a liar and now you are asking for quotes of such.

This is very frequent for you and may need to be addressed with medical help.

Did I make any accusation against him because of his religious beliefs?

If you can't at least read what we're talking about, don't bother posting anything directed at me if you don't mind.
