yup hey are going to crap on him, although I don't know why he is the target.

Because he's been shown to have outlandish ideas and have made numerous distortions of fact?

I'd guess that would be part of it.

It would be cool if you could remember what you post.

You flat out called ben a liar and now you are asking for quotes of such.

This is very frequent for you and may need to be addressed with medical help.

Did I make any accusation against him because of his religious beliefs?

If you can't at least read what we're talking about, don't bother posting anything directed at me if you don't mind.

Yes you did several times dump on him for having beliefs.

My reading skills are just fine and you have serious issues.

You may want to get a grip on your hate and quit deflecting everything that comes your way.

I enjoy reading your responses but you are going over the edge.

"Outlandish" and "distortion" are 100% subjective, in your mind. Which is fine, but you don't actually get to call such things "fact" and "proof".

Otherwise, everybody calls everybody else "outlandish" and squeals "weeeee I win the argument !".

That's a bad way to have a debate, lol.

Carson’s Westmoreland Story Doesn’t Match Records - The DETROIT News

Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson’s published account of having dinner with a top commander in the Vietnam War after marching in a Memorial Day parade in 1969 as a high school ROTC cadet in Detroit does not match historical records.

In Carson’s 1990 best-selling autobiography, “Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story,” the neurosurgeon tells of being offered a scholarship to West Point as a high school senior sometime after having dinner with the U.S. Army’s chief of staff, Gen. William Westmoreland, on Memorial Day 1969.

But Westmoreland’s personal schedule shows the general was not in Detroit on Memorial Day or during the days preceding and following the holiday. His schedule says he was in and around Washington, D.C., that weekend, according to Army archives The Detroit News reviewed Friday.

Emphasis mine.

Carson acknowledged Friday he never sought admission to West Point and was informally offered a scholarship that he later didn’t pursue.

“I interpreted it as an offer,” Carson said Friday night during a televised press conference from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. “... I never said I received a full scholarship.”

Perhaps, but your book says that you did FIVE TIMES IN A ROW, Ben. Or are we focusing on the word "full" now?

What's next, the word "is"?

On MSNBC’s “MTP Daily” Friday evening, Carson campaign manager Barry Bennett conceded Carson’s published account of when he met with Westmoreland is inaccurate.

“It’s in February, not in a Memorial Day parade,” Bennett told MSNBC’s Chuck Todd.

But, but ... the ribbons on his chest! The marching at the front of the parade .... awwww.

haha, it's the age-old tactic. Some variation of "yer dum / can't read" coupled with some vague accusation of wrongdoing on your point.

Wish I had a dollar for every instance this is rolled out to compensate for a losing argument.

I'll go slowly ... can you quote where I called Dr. Carson a liar for having religious beliefs?

If I said it, you should be able to quote it.

If I didn't say it, you won't be able to quote it.

I'm not the one with any sort of problem here.

So ... do you want to "Man up" and express regret over the bone-headed comments you made about Carson running Johns Hopkins?

I've told you before I'm not debating you. Debates involve evidence and logic. You don't have any.

It is outlandish to state, repeatedly, that Joseph built the Pyramids. By any definition.

The distortions are so obvious it's actually getting funny to watch you try to spin them.

You're not much of a debater, but you might have a future in absurdist comedy.

Keep your day job though.

You mean ... like what the poster you're responding to said to me?

LOL ... this gets better as it rolls along.

So, Carson's book lied about the Memorial Day parade (admitted by his campaign), lied about meeting Westmoreland (admitted by his campaign), obviously lied about being offered a full scholarship (admitted by his campaign) ... and that's only from one or two paragraphs in his book.

No comment on that? Is the Carson Campaign now lying as well???

Your exact words are "Mr. Carson is not an honest man".

If all you have is word games, claiming this is not the same as "liar", then I'm happy for you. Same as "offered means accepted" and "scholarship can't mean appointment".

Do it 'til you drop ! Everybody needs a crutch. This seems to be your thing, argue the meaning of words when you've clearly said the same thing with a tiny little twist.

Can you quote where I said that Carson is a liar for having religious beliefs? Do you know how to use the quote function here at ATS.

I do realize you're "new" but ... I would think you might be able to figure that out.

Are you going to admit that Dr. Carson never ran Johns Hopkins?

Are you going to admit that Dr. Carson did not meet General Westmoreland at a Memorial Day parade?

Are you going to admit that you can't prove anything you're saying?

Administrators run hospitals. Carson was one of the administrators.

Is this your angle now ? Because I said "ran the hospital" you have determined that I "meant" CEO ??

Boy, with you as the official ATS dictionary and thesaurus, and you defining everyone's posts.....we are saved !

I'm not spinning Carson's beliefs, you are. I believe that people are free to have religious beliefs without childish gawking and insults. Different religions are all over the map. They aren't my primary determinant in my vote for president, unless they're violent / threatening. What somebody thinks about the pyramids....childish to fixate on.

"looking like you don't even read posts".....

Is this your clincher, your winner ?

It's no better than "poopyhead".

There's got be a bottom to what you're willing to say and do in front of people. Please tell us this is it.

He was a department head. If you don't understand the difference between a department and the entire hospital, I can't help you.

LOL ... so much for accuracy eh? So much for admitting your mistake.

Yeah, yeah, talk about me. You have nothing else.

What is the religious belief you are talking about? Name it.

Childish? Sure ... if a candidate I were rabidly supporting said something that patently dumb, I'd want to ignore it as well.

So tell me, since you don't have the guts to admit your own mistakes ... what about the fact that General Westmoreland wasn't in Detroit for a Memorial Day parade?

No comment on that? Really?

I don't normally cut & paste, but in case you're deliberately ignoring my first reply -

Your exact words are "Mr. Carson is not an honest man".

If all you have is word games, claiming this is not the same as "liar", then I'm happy for you. Same as "offered means accepted" and "scholarship can't mean appointment".

PS - You appear to have dropped "Detroit" from your Westmoreland obsession.

Progress !

You've got enough to respond to in your own posts.

I think DEDick can stand on their own.

Focus ... we're waiting for your very manly apology for looking like you don't know the difference between a Department in a hospital and the whole hospital.

I know you want that to be a minor point ... but it makes you look pretty foolish ... it's okay to say you made a mistake.

Dr. Carson is not an honest man, by any rational measure you care to name.

Can you really call someone brilliant that thinks that Joseph built the Pyramids or that they're hollow and were used to store grain?

THERE's my quote. Now. Apparently you don't know the difference between "Mr." and "Dr." either ... but let's not pick nits.

Show us where I criticized DR. Carson for his religious beliefs as you claimed.

Go on.
