MOSCOW (ABC Live):Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Saturday his country was willing to continue dialogue with the current Ukrainian authorities.
“We are ready to continue the dialogue on the understanding that the dialogue must be honest, partnership-like, without attempts to show us almost as a party to the conflict,” Lavrov said after talks with his Tajik counterpart, Sirojidin Aslov.
He also said Russia would push for an investigation into reports of snipers cutting down scores of protestors in Kiev’s Independence Square during the carnage preceding Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych’s ouster.

Things are getting really strange Russia the country we expected to act like a super powerisnt and China the one we thought would act up is being a calming force in the world.China right now is calling for North Korea to stop and go to the negotiating table

Indeed, and Iran hasn't made a peep in awhile, but NK still remains the same they tested ICBMs at the onset of all of this, so our universe still seems intact, albeit a little different.

Nato is trying to let the Russians know that They will protect NATO members sovereignty but notice he also says interests.This is a key warning letting them know Russia taking over Ukraine is a threat to their interests. As they say a red line was just drawn by NATO the balls in Russias court now. I guess NATO had to put the military option back on the table thinking negotiating isnt working.

Keep in mind there is Oil in Gas in Crimean Coast and annexing of Crimea will give Russia access to that Gas ... only few months ago Exon mobile signed a deal with Ukraine to access this very gas .. Putin will most likely go ahead with the planned annexation of Eastern Ukraine ..

Operation Re-capture Crimea or what ever it will be called will most likely the very last option on the table.

It's been a week now and diplomatic talks with Russia have not succeeded at all. So the next phase will be to bump up the
sanctions most likely, but Russia will only hit back if they are imposed.

The ball is now in Russia's court now and god forbid they play the wrong card. What happens then would be anyones guess.


Ukraine will consider a military intervention is nothing is agreed upon diplomatically. Their sovereignty is at risk.


Russia's Foreign Sec wants to continue diplomatic discussions in the mean time it's all hope in waiting on the positive outcome.

I believe the consider military intervention is all the nation state players will do, but the militias and radicals might want to kick something off dragging the nation states into it.

After all the threats of Sanctions and whole host of other threats Putin cannot back down , US cannot stop interfering as well . But Obama and Kerry should have toned down the Rhetoric , because now if Putin backs down he looses his credibility completely in Russia ...

What an odd comment to make. Needless to say if the US does put boots on the ground in Crimea Russia will not be given the choice as to whether the US move their navy in for a short term stay or not! The Russians have wanted a conflict from the very start and they will get one if they continue with their rhetoric and if they continue to move further into Ukraine.
