Does anyone know what percentage of Ukrainian army is comprised on Russian speaking or linked men.

Total military is 160K. Army is roughly 73K or which 18% are women.

2 main armored divisions are both located in the Eastern parts.
1 of the 3 military corps are also in the East of Dniper river.

Ukraine has upto 1000 tanks which are T-72 and up level. Main numbers are of T-64. Total tanks upto 4000.
They do however have atleast 1 battalion of S-300s, more than a few Tor/Buk air defense systems.

Debka.com says interim government in Kiev fears a putsh by the army.

The question is that coup would be to remove the traitors or to fight the Russians.
Better to remove the traitors and stop their country from getting dismembered into pieces.

Would not the traitors be the ones who go against the lawfully elected governent? Right now the Crimean "President" is a traitor.

There are a few areas that should be clarified between the Ukraine, Crimea and Russia, first and foremost, other nations should back off and let things calm and these important talks commence.

First, some basics.

Russia hasn't invaded Ukraine.

Crimea is part of the Ukraine. That means your first fact is somewhat false. Russia has authorized Putin to invade other parts of the Ukraine as well, though they haven't now, they admit they might.

BREAKING NEWS Ukraine is to call up all its military reservists, the government has announced.

09:58: BBC diplomatic correspondent Bridget Kendall, who is in Moscow, says Vladmir Putin calculates that the dispute over Ukraine will not last - just as it happened in Georgia in 2008. The West will come back when governments change, because Russia is too big and dangerous to have as an enemy

You know what, he might be right.

He is right if his bluff is not called. Eventually the West will have to come back.

The question is what does Putin do if his bluff IS called?

This could be the kicking off point..I hope not, but if the marines refuse to hand over their weapons..all hell could break loose.

Do we really expect that Russia will watch this indifferently and leave millions of Russians to be threatened by hooligans, armed by whom?

Ain't that the truth.

The truth is only the truth when it comes from the west..
Only the US and its allies have the monoply on "giving democracy to the world and protecting thier intrests" , when another country does it, it's termed "an act of agression against a sovereign nation".

Just like governments have the monopoly on violence.

Was published on Feb 19th so these guys had no prior information of Russian decision to move troops to Ukraine.

So this war is between TransAtlantic (NATO) and EurAsian Region (Russia, China, India, Middle East)......as per the wise old man!

Yeah, right...who started the disturbances and why??
Why did the violence only start 3 weeks after the Ukraine accepted a deal from Russia that guaranteed to protect 15,000 jobs in military bases and drop its gas bill by 30%.
Why did Victoria Nulen have prior knowledge to the coup, after all she stated in her famous phone call who the US would put in power after the coup and in her own words "FUC+ the EU"...

So, a democratic change of government..no.
A coup d'etat provoked to destabilise a pro Russian government and replace it with one " More open to a US friendship", leaving the door open to NATO membership and the insertion of a missile "shield" 500 kms from Moscow.

I love all the pro-Russians saying how this is OK because of this or that but if this was the US or another country the would be crying up a river.

Truth be told Russia is not the good guy in this they are the bad guy. And if the US and the EU sit back and hope for the best they are handing power over to very bad men that control power in the once super power Russia.

10:41: Ukraine has called for the immediate despatch of an international fact-finding mission to Ukraine and Crimea, as well as assistance in protecting nuclear facilities. It is inviting the OSCE, the EU and others to hold meetings in Ukraine. It is also setting up a parliamentary negotiation group to reach out to Russian MPs.

You just don't get it do you? You assuming there is a good and bad side.
There isn't, every single nation out there is acting out of self interest. The US or China would do the same in a heartbeat. The EU is doing the same in Central Africa, only more devious.

Let me say one thing to you -
Iraq and weapons of mass destruction.

America wasn't the good guy either when it invade illegaly Iraq, but thats American duplicity and bull+# for you.
America and / or the EU was directly reponsable for the coup d'etat in the Ukraine. Like it or not.
Only when the new "peoples" government got in to power, did all this start.
And they will sit back, and they will do nothing because this is to teach the Ukraine a lesson for turning to Russia and not accepting the western bankers offer.

Here we are, seeking out the reds
Trying to keep the communists in order
Just remember when you're sleeping in your beds
They're only two days drive from the texas border

How can a country large as ours
Be scared of such a threat
Well if they won't work for us
They're against us you can bet
They may be sovereign countries
But you folks at home forget
That they all want what we've got
But they don't know it yet

We're making the world safe for capitalism

Here we come with our candy and our guns
And our corporate muscle marches in behind us
For freedom's just another world for nothing left to sell
And if you want narcotics we can get you those as well

We help the multi-nationals
When they cry out protect us
The locals scream and shout a bit
But we don't let that affect us
We're here to lend a helping hand
In case they don't elect us
How dare they buy our products
Yet still they don't respect us

We're making the world safe for capitalism

If you thought the army
Was here protecting people like yourself
I've some news for you
We're here to defend wealth
Away with nuns and bishops
The good lord will help those that help themselves
I've some news for you
We're here to defend wealth

Perhaps rather than rhetoric you can show where what they did violated the Constitution?

Maybe it happened 3 weeks later because Russia is instigating things in order to make land grabs .. which is what they are doing.

How about asking the local Iraqies how they feel to hear 24/7 drones passing over your head, Blimps over your head recording your every move. How they need to pass American checkpoint every 10 miles.

I have appreciated your updates, so I star most of your posts! I just have 1 request if I may. Please stick with the updates and stay away from the less desirable debates on personal opinion types.. The updates are far more useful for those of us just trying to assess the situation and may or may not have an opinion regarding either side in one way or another.. Thanks again!
