Oh no, I've already stated in earlier post that during a VIP escort this type of behavior is to be expected. But again, according to the video they weren't escorting a VIP, just practicing. So either Charles Glass is lying or he's writing a fairly large article about Blackwater military contractors with totally false information he thinks is legit. Either way, I just don't agree with it at all and that seems to be the problem with some people. And yes you're right, it's most definitely because that's my opinion formed from not actually being there. We all get war is hell and blah blah blah. Clearly war is no good and accomplished little.

This is a YouTube video given to us by the Young Turks. Here you'll see two videos of private contractors from Black Water in Iraq driving like crazy men through crowded Iraqi streets. They have no respect for the laws or people there, so much so they actually run over on woman and the entire Black Water entourage just keeps on driving.

If martial law were implemented in the USA I image it would look like this.

I dont think so. Ya see- The first layer--..1 out of 11 Americans have alot of suppressed rage bubbling underneath our smiley faces. Had this taken place in our country under Martial Law situation those Mercs would have never made it to point B without being anhilated...rest assured.

Then there is the second layer- What i like to call the Dark Hour- 1 out of 100 that dont get there fair share of sex with womens if any at all which makes us very unstable undefeatable supersoldiers.

What I don't understand is why are they recording this anyway? Taking trash, acting like the "American Cowboy".
Whatn if they receive some sort of "intel" that these people could be a potential bombers, or it wasn't a woman but a man? We really don't know what really happen but only know what "it looks like" Are these Security guards even held accountable by the U.S. Government for anything they do? I did watch both videos but I can't say that they are right, but I know they were wrong for acting stupid. When was this video taking back in "06 and we're just now seeing this and who release it so we can have this long debate. War is business and it makes money for everyone. The bad thing is, we continues to go overseas and fight for who's freedom or wallets.

If our government was so worry about the wrong-doing of these guys, trust me they wouldn't even be there at all.

Someone said earlier in the post about "its a dirty job but somone has to do it" Wrong!! Its because they "want" to do it for the money and thrill.....peace!

Defend these videos if you like, and pretend they are doing nothing wrong, but I viewed one earlier today that showed the Blackwater no-necks firing rifles at cars as they drove by - for no reason. The cars weren't even in their way. Perhaps you should watch that one as well.

If you were to watch the video I took of our "squad" (ended up being more of a platoon) sized attack on a FOB as part of a training exercise; you would figure it was "for no reason" as well... because you have absolutely no context behind it.

It was a pretty epic attack, mind you. Put our guys out of their minds and broke the back of their communications; attacking from multiple angles having approached largely unnoticed and with an M-240 laying down cover fire. Us OPFOR were not at all easy on them.

My point? Without context - almost any event appears pointless and/or confusing. Why were a bunch of people in Navy Type IIIs, civies, and Marine Forest BDUs attacking a Navy outpost with blanks? To someone who wasn't there or who didn't have a lot of knowledge of such activities - it would appear quite pointless and confusing (particularly with my camera work while sprinting around the outside of the FOB to cover different fire teams - still impressed with my phone's video capabilities, though).

WTH is this?

I'll admit I'm no fan of Mr. Prices mercenary army, but its quite clear what happened here.

"ran over" ???

That woman stepped right into a moving vehicle

Are some of you blind, or what?

I don't condone the actions of Blackwater over there in general. In this instance though, I have to say... if you insist on walking straight into the side of a moving (armoured) vehicle, you are going to get hurt.

No one said anyone got run over in the first video, just you. I can't believe you watched this video and are defending the Black Water folks. It looks like I will continue to disagree with everything you say and stand for.

I am not defending anyone
but when any stopped car
or women next to the road could
be armed with a bomb ready to kill you..
Things get hectic. The video is blatant anti-american
propaganda all i'm saying.

Are you serious? As if anyone needs to proactively make anti-american propaganda.

theres a difference

Look closely and you will see that the convoy is on the wrong side of the street and the woman was looking the other way. I know they say look both ways, but we all seem to avoid looking left after getting half way across. She was left on the crosswalk, an international no no.

She did, and your mother or your sister would have done the same thing. These guys came out on the wrong side of any law. Go to jail time. Or would you let the killer of your mother go?

Again, you're missing context. This was a war zone in 2006. IEDs were as common as rolling papers at an occupy wall street site.

It is likely that all four Geneva conventions have been routinely broken in all the videos shown by an operating procedure on the ground, but then the Geneva convention is only a creation of 'the funnies' isn't it? Ironically, a soldier has only his own rite of passage, like everyone who is not a soldier. He does not have rite of passage for anyone else, just because uncle sam or kitchener, and the likes of, say is alright in the killing machine.

WHOA NELLY!

Do NOT compare these people to soldiers! They are NOT soldiers, they are mercenaries, and like all mercenaries they are complete bags of excrement! It is because they are NOT soldiers that they are not beholden to the Geneva convention.

Blackwater is NOT soldiers, they are just $*%#bags and murderers!

Unfortunately, I said ALL video shown here, I do wish it could have been different, but it didn't pan out that way. As for mercenaries, they are subject to any prevailing law, in any country.

That is only correct, in theory. This is how it really works.

The Blackwater mercs are not subject to Geneva because they are not soldiers.
The Blackwater mercs are not subject to local law because we were occupiers and we made the law--and they worked for Dept of State and they like their private army but not bad publicity so they brush things under the rug
The Blackwater mercs are not subject to US law because they are outside the US

So, they kind of fall into a grey area. Are they subject to some law some where? Probably. Are they going to get prosecuted? Unlikely.

And finally, as an occupying force they are not subject to local laws any more than that guy who allegedly shot all those people on Afghanistan is subject to their local laws.

Just to make it clear, there was no crosswalk on that side of the street. On the opposite side of the intersection, there was a crosswalk. It looks like most people don’t have enough sense to stay out of the road. people know better than to walk out in the middle of a busy street in a lawless country. Most dogs have more sense.

The information I have is clearly from the video. The video's title said it was a demonstration, an operational escort demonstration. Now many here are saying these guys are US military and not US contractors. If they're right than the article that was written about Blackwater is completely false, and that's where these videos surface. Charles Glass received them from a source, probably former BW, did his interviews, research, etc, and then wrote this article. So is he full of it or does he have it right and some posters here wrong? His article isn't about US military, it's all about mercenaries who have transformed into contractors after 9/11.

The WARRIOR CLASS
A golden age for the freelance soldier By Charles Glass

In the autumn of 2011, I entered the new world of privateering in one of its two main theaters, Afghanistan. (The other, of course, is Iraq.) The word “mercenary,” beloved of centuries of soldiers-for-hire, is no longer used. The men with guns are contractors, and the firms employing them are variously called private-security companies (PSCs), private-military companies (PMCs), and private-security providers (PSPs). Many are traded on stock exchanges. Their directors no longer sport Bob Denard’s bush beret and automatic rifle. Instead they are armed with laptops, PowerPoint, and legal memos.

That said, I've never tried to indicate my service in the USN as any source to the conflicts in Iraq or that I have first hand experience. There are a few posters here who did and they've posted their stories. I clearly stated I wasn't in Iraq and also said sailors aren't usually found on the ground, meaning you wouldn't find me in the streets of Iraq. You're former USN so you're probably familiar with my old rate, CTO. You don't find spooks in combat, unless they're with SEALs operating their comms.

Women getting ran over by Blackwater? More like Mario getting touched by a Goomba.

Yeah, that's a better comparison.

In regards to the 2nd video, where the person is hit by the vehicle:

If you click at 2:35, in the distance you see the SUV merging to the right lane while the woman walks towards the left of the screen. Unfortunately, we do not know the exact circumstances of that moment... The guys don't look like they are being attacked or anything, they do not seem to be going that fast.

Also if you look closely, the woman (or person) hit by the vehicle seemed to be looking in a different direction for a moment before getting hit. I know these hired guns are some nutcases that have probably done more harm than good, but this may actually be a genuine accident.

The shameful thing is that no one stopped to help this person... except that good guy across the street.

What do you think?

Lol at this derp guy trying to say this is anti-America propaganda. Sure maybe the running over of the woman was an 'accident'. Sure maybe the Iraqi people are all wrong and don't know their road rules...but how on EARTH can you explain away the waving of guns at people, the threatening to blow them away and the massive racism exhibited? Not even the most mind-fkd person could believe that's misinterpreted.

In some foreign countries, they will tell you to keep going if no one sees you. It cost less if you kill them. Usually pay the family the loss, the older the cheaper, unless the deceased was the breadwinner. That will cost you extra.
I am sure someone had an outlet to file a complaint, our lawyer will talk to your lawyer, yada yada yada, and ok we will cut the check

So you missed the part where the US Black Water contractors drove over an Iraqi woman?

I almost posted this video yesterday, but after watching it a few times I realized that the woman literally walked right in front of the moving vehicle.. the vehicle didn't have time to break..

HOWEVER, they most certainly should have stopped after hitting her to help her. That part was abhorrent.

Also seeing these blackwater goons drive around Iraq is like seeing those children's armies in Africa driving around in the back of trucks with AK-47's and blasting rap music terrorizing people.
