Felt it. Not a big one and I'm within 25 miles of epicenter. My dogs didn't move and my kid, standing in the same room, didn't feel it. The overhead light was not shaking so I thought I must have been imagining what I felt.

Oh, it was the 4.2 in Cal a few minutes ago that I'm talking about.

They happen.

Pretty Normal no? Don't they often have them that size?

Here's a list of people/areas that felt it. I've been here almost 30 years. A 4.2 can be a jolt around here depending on where you are. It's no fun. earthquake.usgs.gov...

no way, an earthquake in cali?
quick, call fema, we have a situation....

now if u get one thats 6.0+ make a thread like this.
if the aftershocks continue all night, make a thread like this..
but a small quake followed by some aftershocks doesnt need so much attention

Heard my empty can of soda vibrate on my computer desk so yea it was small but i did feel it to as a small vibration as well. Also that explains why the neighborhood dogs were very active.

update:

My dogs acting strange right now again we might get something big today.

I respect your earthquake watch, but cmon man are we really going to post every single earthquake.. What do you mean not good, there was a earthquake followed by after shocks that happens a lot. According to all you californians you guys always sweat off earthquakes, so whats the big deal??

Honestly and be honest do your dogs ever act strange?? Maybe there still freaking out about the previous quake.. You think you might get a big one because your dogs are acting strange??

california has been "about to fall into the sea" for decades. all the info is out there
there have been plenty of big ones since then as well, much bigger than this tremor, but it never seems to happen. i personally dont believe there is going to be a "big" one because it lets off so much pressure regularly. its the places that dont quake under the most pressure, not cali. yellowstone will most likely blow before this happens to cali

Actually we are not that use to them in the Greater Los Angeles area. We are more use to hearing about them in the outskirts, middle of the desert, off the coast, in the mountains, etc. When something shakes downtown, it's a different story. And, it doesn't make it easier because we are told to "expect" the big one. Just saying.

I disagree somewhat - I agree that they can sense something that's already started - my two dogs both threw up several times the evening before our 7.1. As far as us humans were concerned nothing was happening, but unbeknown to us it probably had, hence their sensing something; This same story played out across my region just before the 7.1 last year. So yes, they are reacting to what is already happening, but you can't rule out they are already feeling something that has started that you can't feel

I live right on top the epicenter. I felt it strong and I was in the car waiting to pick up my boy. The car rocked violently and I saw several teachers outside the school run into their classes. I've felt every aftershock too, even the last 1.6 x2. That is because I'm right on top of it. Of course CA are used to earthquakes and bigger than this but it's been a long time since this specific area has rocked and never since I've been here. I've never been right over an epicenter before and I can tell you that you can feel everything!
