I'm in Northridge, about 10 miles from the epicenter. It was short but I definitely felt the quick jolt.

I live right on top the epicenter. I felt it strong and I was in the car waiting to pick up my boy. The car rocked violently and I saw several teachers outside the school run into their classes. I've felt every aftershock too, even the last 1.6 x2. That is because I'm right on top of it. Of course CA are used to earthquakes and bigger than this but it's been a long time since this specific area has rocked and never since I've been here. I've never been right over an epicenter before and I can tell you that you can feel everything!

wow. im not a west coaster so my impression of EQs going forward is that people generally won't take into account the extremely populated areas being vulnerable to even 5's and 6s..

and that for cali it would have to near a 7, and for elsewhere near a 6+, in order to be not dismissed as insignificant.

I feel sort of comforted by all the 'small earthquakes'* it is a slow release of fault pressure. It is when they 'stop' I will get concerned.

*I think of it as the earth purring.

Yep...

And not to sound cruel at all, but maybe Cali needs to get a lil somethin....for the most part, Californians feel invicible to catastrophe and very callous when it strikes elsewhere....

hope someone feels me

Oh come on people. Stop being fear-mongered.

Check this link: USGS - All CA/NV Earthquakes

499+ separate events and there's only been 2 events over a 4.0 magnitude. Come to grips with reality people. Earthquakes happen by the 1000's everyday. A 4.3 in minimal! Now when a few 6.0+ pop off, let me know.

Oh wait, I forgot this is ATS, quick get your BOB's and head for your bunkers it the end of the world.....

Hearing thunder in the distance on a clear sunny day here in Los Angeles.

Also now small vibration coming from the ground.

Starting to wonder if they are not telling us something.

This is the point actually. Out of 488 separate events there have only been 2 over a 4.0.
This is why in earthquake land we pay attention to the middle sized ones.
